On the Wrist, from off the Cuff: Strapcode Super-J Louis (Jubilee) for Orient Kamasu vs. Angus-J

On this episode we revisit Orient's current entry level diver top offering in the Kamasu, from the Mako Family of divers and add a huge, much needed upgrade. Strapcode has released a stunning jubilee-style bracelet in its Super-J Louis model. I also bring along the Kamasu's bigger brother the Orient Triton on the Super-J's bigger brother the Angus-J Louis. We'll compare and contrast, as well as highlight some key features for consideration. All in all, Strapcode continues to impress while releasing solid offerings to help upgrade various entry-level type watches to new heights. In Europe we usually say Louis as “Lou-ee”. Kinda sounds a little like Jubilee if you say it quickly. No idea if that was what Strapcode were going for 😂 Great review as always!

These look really nice. Still rocking the seiko skx stock bracelet on my gen 1 orient mako ray. Also a nice combo and I like the separate pusher to change the day of the week. This watch has maintained very good accuracy over the 4 years Ive had it as well.

@@matsmith5279 I had the strapcode for the skx007 on it but you would need to modify it or else it slips back and forth. The skx bracelet is nice because the end links are hollow and I can bend it to fit the watch.

I had wondered if there was a " jubilee 'esque" bracelet available for the kamasu in early december but couldn't find any so bought a sharks mesh from timestrap which i must say was quite nice but the links did need a little smoothing off in places by the clasp but since that its been a dream even though i swap it out regularly to brown leather.but love the look on that "JL" VERY NICE.

I am trying to figure out if strapcode is really better than other brands. Every video is strapcode vs stock. I see longisland watch has a strapcode haxad and their own hexad for 60$ less. And I wonder if I had both would I even know the difference? Do you have any experience with bracelets not strapcode. 2 years ago I would not have a problem with buying from hongkong but I just can't do it now.

I prefer ''Ray 3" for the Triton.The dial is like a little changed Ray2 style than Mako2.

Just ordered two timepieces this morning and one was a Black Kamasu and a Strapcode Jubilee to beef it up , it will be used for work which is perfect for my field of Social services. Solid looking and performing watch to use a daily and to not worry so much about getting banged up . Second I finally made up my mind on the Colour/ Finish on my soon to be Orion Hellcat. Both pieces especially the Hellcat will fit in the collection nicely. I could however unload a couple that don’t get any action.

Thanks a lot for this video. Owning the Kamasu I've already checked Strapcode's website but $25,- shipping to Europe...?! This, plus tax would inflate the price to 127,- euros. More than half of what I've paid for the watch. But honestly, the factory bracelet is not very comfortable and either too tight or too wide lol! Probably I'll end up buying the J-Louis after all ;)

Bought the new Orient RA-AC0K01B10B (triton lite) excellent watch. Unfortunately, strapcode doesn't make a bracelet for it, too bad, really since it deserves a better one.

LOL, they are using the French pronounciation as a joke. 🤣 "Louis" in French sounds like "Louie" in English. So "J Louis" sounds like "Jubilee".
