Yes I've got arthritis in my hands and I'm trying to learn guitar in my mid-60s. I often feel sorry for myself because my fingers are stiff and sore and here she is. Clearly gifted and playing for a long time but our bodies betray us and usually I would think most people struggle a little bit because aging makes everything our body does harder. But you wouldn't know what listening to her. Like others I feel comforted about getting older. Getting older is totally unfair and it's hell but it's the universal disease and things like this take my mind off of that frequent daily angst. She is still herself and she looks pretty damn good too. Thank you for posting this video I wish we were Neighbors.

This woman has given me confidence to start singing again. I am 78 years old now but in the past I composed several songs and sung them in different venues and these were made into four albums. Sadly, I haven’t sung for around 20 years having been overwhelmed by other things. People I used to know ask me why I don’t sing anymore. So it’s never too late to get the old vocal cords polished up! Thank you!

I’m sorry you know this pain, my sis passed in 2015, I was struggling so much I said to my husband that I needed a few days to myself, he understood and off I went for a week in a camping ground ( a safe one) off the grid, I hiked in the morning with a dog that would not leave me alone in the mountains, I believe he was taking care of me, I just talked to GOD, I just needed to grieve, when I was home I was trying to hard to stay strong for everyone until I just couldn’t, after I allowed God to heal me, I remember my sister every day but without pain, I’m just so grateful for the memories and because she’s not here, it doesn’t mean that she doesn’t exist, I pray you’ll find peace too. 🤗

I don't know if you have heard of this, but recently many scientists studying dementia have discovered that music often helps alleviate the dementia fog in people. If you play music that they listened to and loved when they were younger, they become lucid and can communicate a lot better than before. Hope this helps.

I'm hitting a major age milestone this year. Within the past 10 years, I have separated myself from a toxic narcissistic family and escaped a violent marriage. And "at my age" I was afraid that I got old without noticing and that my life was over without ever having actually begun. I have been so blessed to realize that that simply isn't the case. I have moved across the country, found work in one of the most beautiful places on earth, built a home, and have traveled to several continents. I'm in the process of reinventing myself yet again, but this time, not out of fear or desperation, but out of joy and a sense of adventure. Eat right, exercise, use your brain and your talents daily. Then getting old will take longer and won't be nearly as terrifying.

There are no earthly words to describe how much you have brought to my life since I found you online. I thank God for that. When I was 22 (I'm 67 now), my beloved brother tragically took his life due to chronic depression. He was only 26. I was the one who found him after he shot himself, and I've never been the same since. My brother was a warm, funny, brilliant person. He was a self-taught phenomenal guitarist, songwriter and singer. He loved nature and hiking and backpacking in the mountains. I see and feel him in a lot of your songs. I love you, Melinda. You are a beloved gift from God to all who have discovered you, online or otherwise. Much Love, Audrey from Southern California ❤

Life is short everyone - and tomorrow is promised to no one, so live for today. What a wonderful blessing that you showed up in my YT feed this morning. In the process of reinventing myself in my early 70s. Getting ready to sell my home of 23 years, buying a smaller rv, taking my sweet dog and hitting the road to see this huge, wonderful country of ours while I can still fish, hike, swim, and get around on my own. Thank you Melinda - Someone knew I needed this.

As a performer of 55 years: Your candor is tops! 1. never apologize when you do not do things to your liking 2. Never let them know you have done multiple takes 3. Always act like anything you did was just part of it: if you do not react negatively, few will know the difference -especially on original works.

I’m still working as an accountant and almost 68. My life was music until I gave up my music business to get 2 graduate degrees in finance and accounting while working full time in my 50s. I have always wanted to play the mandolin and bought one during covid. I was a music teacher a pianist. organist, flute, and oboe player but my 5 brothers all play guitar. Those mountains are gorgeous. I am a life long musician and hiker. Thank you for the video.

As soon as this popped up I got emotional.Reminded me of ME. Loving nature, playing my acoustic, getting older. More days behind than ahead. What really matters today? What always mattered, but we let life and mistakes fog our brains. I'm from Central PA and I've been away from my family for 7 years! I've been away from the grass, the woods, the streams, the snow. I'm now in Prescott AZ. Thank you for sharing. ❤️
