Is it still slow as a blob as 2022.5 was? (both pc and mac). Adding filters etc was a pain. Suddenly everything started getting so slow, so slow... Is this fixed in 2023 or not? =)

Unfortunately no. My macbook pro heats up real fast with ON1 2023. Best you use a desktop with a lot of resources. :) I suspect it doesn't use the GPU enough.

Will this program run fine on the MacBook Air M1 with 8GB of RAM?
@takebetterphotos8132 Жыл бұрын
yes it supports apple silicon and 8 GB is minimum setting. Though the recommended is 16 GB. Here is the link to the system requirements www.on1.com/products/photo-raw/specs/

In my view this video clearly explains and shows SuperSelect AI's masking limitation. That is significant enought to deter me from adopting ON1 Photo RAW 2023 at this time.

Yes if you are satisfied with ON1 2022, you can skip this and wait till they improve this further. Thanks for watching

Thanks a lot for your unbiased opinion. You have a new subscriber. I hope they fix general program performance for, as it is now, it’s almost unbearable to use for me in a fairly new laptop. I had wished they’d fixed LOT of things before introducing new ones.

Thanks for the sub. Yes I bet your laptop runs hot! I see why they race for more features-- its for the marketing. Now they can and should focus on the performance for 2024.

Does the Professional PlugIn bundle include all functions of FotoRAW 2023, i.e. also HDR from multiple images, sky and FocusStacking? Of course, the catalog function is not needed out of Lightroom. FotoRAW could be accessed via "Export" from Lightroom and the PlugIns probably under "Edit in". Would I have to call each PlugIn individually, so create in Lightroom constantly new file, because back in Lightroom each PlugIn "burns in" the change or could I call again the same PlugIn to subsequently adjustment again? -- In FotoRAW I could apply all tools one after the other and export to Lightroom and ... would then have to set extra catalog in FotoRAW so that settings remain reversible ... or can I use selbige folders as in LR ? -- Last question: Can I install the PlugIn bundle or FotoRAW also on 3 of my Mac devices, where I always use only individually? -- Explain no one does so far, but could you help me - thank you!? 👍

Hi Renzo, from the documentation, professional plugin includes only the following: Resize AI, NoNoise AI, Effects, Portrait AI, and HDR. Did not see focus stacking on the list nor sky replacement. It looks incomplete. As of the specific behavior I'm afraid I haven't tested the professional plugin to answer your other details.

ON1 has always (understandably since it does so much) been a resource hungry app. Have they improved this aspect with the 2023 version - will it run better on slower / older machines. Would appreciate any input on this thanks!

I just installed the 14 day trial (today) on my 4GB, Core i3, Intel UHD , 128GB, Windows 11 and it'ss actually working even though they recommend minimum 8GB Ram., It is slower, but it works. The browser takes a while to load up the thumbnails of the pictures, but I will still keep it, even if I have to not run other apps/programs on my computer while using On1.

Didn't notice any improvement unfortunately.

I think basic editing is fine. The problem starts when you start doing local adjustments and using perfect brush it lags even in a fast system

Tack Sharp creates way to many artifacts and literally destroys the image.

Tack Sharp will do better when the image is larger. But yes, strange that this is the performance in very small images
