I made comment on one of your videos I was trying On1. I have basically given up the On1 idea for now --- too cluttered, too many options, too much like a kids playroom with too many little boy's toys. And doesn't seem have a simple paint in D&B --- soft light bend later --- ; can't edit without that! 🤣. As I think you said, I prefer to editing my way a most toys/presets just get in the way Gone back to a bit of a messed up Lr5 (that I own! 🥳) . Some (just a little) of that "messed" happened when tried On1 a few years back and all keyword hierarchies fell apart. I have started another catalog and will slowly move some of the over 65k images as I need to . Cheers mate

Ok understood and if Lr works for you, then use it for sure. It's still a good product. Thanks.

That's wonderful. So many sky replacements are just too vivid out of the box. The sunset sky replacement in this image would have looked wrong without, easy enough, dialing back Opacity, but more subtly and important, the addition of the sunset tones to the foreground. That's so easy in On1 (compared to PS) and a great example of where On1 is an app worth having. Great job in all the adjustments here!

Jim, I found this video very helpful exploring the filters & potential of ON1 Photo Raw. Honestly, I tend to mostly use Luminar Neo, and this video reminded just how good ON1 Photo Raw is. Thank you!

Thanks Jim, another excellent tutorial. I’m taking photos half and half these days between my main camera and my iPhone. I find ON1 a little over the top with Apple Pro Raw files. Any chance of a tutorial (and software recommendation) for these type of files? But keep up the good work anyway. Best wishes, John

Hi John and thanks, and I may do some iPhone editing videos later this year once I get the new iPhone. I currently have an iPhone 12 Pro (3+ yrs old now) so I am in dire need of an update. No current plans in other words, sorry. But the cameras are getting more and more impressive for sure.

I do something like that in Luninar Neo. (love your LN videos by the way) Sometimes I visit a place and the day (meaning light conditions ) are not ideal and I cannot wait around. So I take the photo and play around later.

thanks much and yes this happens a lot with travel photography - and I agree, I always take the shot regardless of conditions, and play around with it later

Thanks for the tip. Question for you. When I download my images into OnOne they are not sequential numerically and the images are all over the place. Where do I set the preferences to download in a sequential manner? Thanks

Thanks Jim, questions is On1 Photo RAW (MAX) what i have exactly the same on MAC as it is on PC ? I noticed it;s always the MacOS version. I find the learning curve quite steep if you are used to PhotoShop & Lightroom workflow. Also, the 'example' pictures are shot in perfect situation with low ISO shots etc. 🙂 Would also be great for MAX or PLUS User and or i mean, that these video's contains subtitles in English otherwise i have to crank the volume to loud haha

Educational video, thanks. Is there any reason you used Tone Enhancer instead of Local Adjustments? We passed this same church when we were in Prague in October.

thanks and I use it quite often when I am already in Effects and just need to make light adjustments, but for sure Local Adjustments work fine here too

O and please zoom in on panels, it's hard to see all the text on it @ 15,6" laptop Screen or even at my 4k tv thank you. And mention shortcuts keystrokes you do, it would help out a beginner wint ON1 much 😉
