What's sad is Auburn is tied for 4th in passing yards in the SEC and tied at 1st in rushing yards per carry but that's means nothing when tou have 10 trun overs in 2 games 😢

most SEC teams don’t have to pass very much by the second half lol (i’m an oklahoma fan 😔)

Why is everyone saying 10 turnovers in two games ? It's actually 17 in four games and they got 4 back so it's 13. 17 total for four games is terrible.

I was with you (not in agreement, but I could understand) on that Miami pick until you gave your score. You ever watch those high school football tapes where there's clearly one guy who's the 5 star recruit on an otherwise normal high school team? Dude's eight feet taller than everyone else, and is running over teammates and opponents like he was one of those mascots playing against the little kids. That's what Ward has looked like on 90% of the hurries he's experienced this season. He's just seeing so much so damn quickly that it looks like the defenders who do somehow make it through the oline are running in slow mo compared to Ward's scramble. In the USF game, watching him scramble, that's when I understood people are going to have to outscore Miami to beat them this year (barring any major injuries, although they've had three on the offensive line and that hasn't seemed to matter). There are very few defenses I've seen this year that I could comfortably say, yeah they have the personnel to do this. Maybe VaTech has one or two of the pieces to slow Miami down, but they're not going to be able to cover all of them (literally and metaphorically. You have to pressure him, sure, but first get that done. Then if you do, pray it's quick enough because he'll have short options in Restrepo and probably a back that's leaked out as a safety valve. If you're quick enough pray you're accurate enough because Ward can scramble. Do you have a spy making sure he doesn't sprint off? Have you covered the top end because Brown, George, and Horton have all proven they can beat their man, and Ward's proven he has the arm to sling it out from basically any standing position. What about relying on a LB who's too slow or a corner who's too small to cover Aroyo on a boundry slant of some sort? The run game has suffered the most from Miam's o-line rotation, but even it hits every once in a while, so if you sell out to defend the pass, maybe Martinez goes off. All the things we thought were minutely possible when the team was built over the summer have basically proven to be true. You'll have to rely on the Hurricanes injuring themselves, because it doesn't look like they're lacking in discipline week to week. If you're not slowing them down, you're trying to outscore them. Miami just had mixed results against their first dual threat QB. Byrum Brown did have his highest passing game of the season at 254 yards on 63% completion, but the defense didn't give up a passing TD. They also held him to 27 yards on 14 carries in the run game (he had 108 on 23 carries against Alabama) for a 1.9 YPC average. The majority of their passing came was on chunk plays, and largely relied on the speed of their offense setting up those chunk plays with a short pass and quick set. It worked a lot in the first half, not much at all in the second half. The biggest thing their gameplan did was eliminate Miami's strength on defense, their front 7. The run defense was surprisingly still stout, holding the Bulls to 62 yards on 32 carries (an identical 1.9 ypc avg for the team as a whole), but the pass rush suffered from the speed of the Bulls offense. I've watched VaTech and I don't think they can emulate that. Their o-line play has also been relatively weak considering their competition. They've given up 8 sacks, and despite being a run first offense they have fewer rushing yards on more carries than Miami currently has. Maybe Miami's defense hasn't really faced much competition, but neither has VaTech's offense by that same logic. I don't see VaTech holding Miami under 40, even granting them the Friday night oogie boogies. If they're covering, they're covering high and over, and frankly I don't see them getting more than 20-24 against this defense. The best they've faced so far, according to ESPN's FPI is the 55th ranked ODU Monarchs, and VaTech still only managed 37 aided by 17 fourth quarter points. 45-17 seems likely, but if you want to spot VaTech more points I still don't see the Hurricanes being held under 40. It hasn't happened yet this year, and honestly they look to just be getting better on offense.
@DaGenius-187Ай бұрын
Exactly they keep talking about the VT pass defense but they faced ODU, Marshall, and Rutgers who are all running teams. I kept hearing last week how 17.5 points were too many against USF. I agree I think Miami wins around 45-17. Similar to that Florida game

Pro Football Focus has CU run defense rate at 15. They are saying they scored an 81 against CSU and an 86.1 against BU. They had not gotten these grades since 2018. Oh yeah, CUs LBs are graded #3 in the country behind Ole Miss and Alabama. WoW Green is rated in the 90s for the season. NU had 3 plays for 21 points bobbled pick 6, pick 6 & an under throw yo the 3. Also, only 7 loints in 4 - 2nd halves. UCF is the challenge

Kirby Smart IS NOT Nick Saban because you want Georgia to be the new Saban Alabama era in the SEC CONFERENCE and it's a new era overall that Saban didn't deal with and Alabama isn't Saban's era Alabama either who has 5 star depth of old because of the NIL era and transfer portal and new top quality teams in the conference as well as no divisions and way more travel than he controlled not to happen writing up his own schedule for advantages of fans and referees from the south ☘️
