The ONA bags are expensive, however, you are paying for quality and craftsmanship. I wanted a bag that doesn't say hey I have a camera rob me. The bag that I would get is the Prince street in dark truffle. Why I have no intention of buying a lot of cameras, I just want one camera with a light lens, and prince street fits the bill in size. For me, it looks like a purse, and I want a bag to last me a very long time.

Billingham is originally a fishing bag. They stuck a camera insert into it and it became a camera bag company. All I envision when I see a Billingham bag is an old white dude with a bucket hat and a tactical vest packed with lures.

I was stopped on the subway in Jersey City last year by a gentleman who asked “is that an Ona bag?” After I told him it was, he replied “That’s great. I’m the CEO of Ona.” Was pretty funny and a cool guy.

I had an Ona Bowery in leather but replaced it with a Billingham Hadley small, which Im happy with. You mention re waxing your bags but in my experience wax or grease on the fingers dont mix well with cameras and lenses.

I love ONA bags as well. I just got the Crosby and need to post a video about it. Perfect for the X-T10 with a lens and a second lens. Also works with X-T1 if you remove the battery grip.

Love my Smoke Prince Street. Holds either a D750+35mm and a 50mm, or my X-T10+23mm and a 35mm. Also allows me to throw an iPad, microfiber cloth, and a Moleskine notebook. Perfect for my needs!

ONA and Billingham equal quality. Used both. The old 550 Billingham has lasted over 25 years and still going strong in a friend's hands ;) Billingham with their water proof canvas and leather wear beautiful with age

I agree, both makes are good quality. Nothing wrong with Billingham bags at all ...

Just compared the prices between the new Bilingham bags and new ONA (at least in the UK) and the Bilingham is cheaper compared to the similar ONA models. Maybe in the USA or the used market is different but...

What about Domke bags? I have used them for years and they are my favorite. What do you think of Domke? For me it's cheap and tougher than woodpecker lips 😂

I could perhaps need a bag like these for when I need to be more discrete. I've got a couple of excellent Lowepro bags but they do scream " expensive camera gear! " I can think of a few places I frequent where I wouldn't want my gear to be too obvious 😃

@KenTheoriaApophasis7 жыл бұрын
nooo, i use the stuff sold by ONA for re waxing canvas, its on their website leather not the same stuff as canvas for WP-ing

A “man-bag” for the discerning gentleman and man-about-town? 🤪 Sniffing leather like “the ‘fro” sniffs a lens... but leather usually smells nice. I recall a “favourite things” video Angry once did where he showed us his gun, flashlight, Swiss Army knife and probably a few other items. One of my favourite items is a WMF Pressure Cooker - an item I use frequently and appreciate every time.

I’m astonished that none of you seem to know of the one and only hand made by the two owners and that’s it, better than a Billingham-sandwich POS, the Fogg. Fogg bags are the best. I’m not sure if it’s the simple addition of placing the strap as a cradle that goes all the way around the bag, the subtraction of anything that isn’t absolute necessity, or the soul(knowing that no underpaid man or woman labored to bring you a lower price point, that no exploitation, no dirty business, no ugly capitalistic ideals, zero greed was involved in its construction) but they are the only bags that I, a man who walks on average 11 miles a day, can toss over my shoulder without experiencing discomfort. There isn’t even a close second. It is Fogg=zero pain and the next best thing is searing, red hot razor blades of horror dragging across my clavicle as a rhino fails at a game of leap frog which repeatedly drives his horn into my lumbar. No Ona, no Billingham, no peak, no wantoncraft, no hawksmill, domke, artist and artisan, black label, oberwerth, and def not a think tank or lowpro. Sure, they are expensive, but still the only brand out there made by hand by two people only. Just as some people don’t count ethics as a plus with Leica, I’m sure most of you will only say, “I’m not paying blah for blah” and then over the next three years spend ten times that buying mass produced bag after mass produced bag, adding not only to the waste in your life but to the on going cycle of waste and mistreatment of the working class that is a world wide crisis( and oddly the reason why you probably can’t afford one).
