I have a pair of D7100's and a D5200 that I still use regularly. Love the rendering of the Toshiba sensor.

It is a very high megapixel APSC. Just the thing for sports and wildlife.

@@Joel-your-photo-troll They work well for events. Mine mainly get used with CPL's at automotive shows/cruise ins these days. I use my e-m1x for wildlife.

I would suggest that you get one used. I wouldn't pay much more than $400 for it. Awesome lens, just a bit too massive for hand held use.

The lens in the video is the Nikkor 80-200 D series f/2.8 zoom, but the lens that I use more often is the Nikkor AF-S VR 70-300, I can't live without that one. Also, old pre D autofocus lenses work great.

@@Joel-your-photo-troll Also, I found this description at KEH, "Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 G ED VR Autofocus IF Lens {67}", is this what is your favorite lens? I would be interested in getting at your recommendation. Thank you, Ken M.

I have tried more serious models. But these 7000 series are ok. One little thing. Over time, the screen pixels burn out on the display. The sensor is ok. It is better to put UV filters in the sun. Otherwise, burnout sensor pixels without a uv filter in the sun. On a trip or for work. Nikon sensors burn out like other SLR sensors. When buying old models, Nikon tested the variant against black pages. You can quickly see the situation of the pixels of the sensors.

Just keep in mind that in rafting photography it is not uncommon to shoot one thousand photos per day every day for eighty days. So, about 80,000 per season. The shutter usually starts acting up in the fifth season, around 400,000 actuations. I have never encountered the pixel burnout that you mention, probably because I replace the camera every fifth year or so.

@@Joel-your-photo-troll I’ve got fast cards, but the buffer seems to lag behind anyhow. That 6FPS only goes the first 6 frames. I still like it, and use it a lot, but for birds in flight it’s not perfect. I do like the colors it produces!
@Joel-your-photo-troll
@Joel-your-photo-troll Жыл бұрын
@joeprete7424 yes, for birds in flight, it's a little lacking. For rafting, it's great. Just shoot short bursts. That is the main improvement of the D7200 is the deep buffer.
