We should keep them longer to supplement the cf-18's and looked into the development of the F-20 TIGERSHARK!!! Mighty bang for the money!!Both Us and Canada Would had been the best in show and utility back then!!

Much agreed.. If coupled with a thrust-vectored engine (if western engine designers could ever come up with one :-P) would be a potent platform (new electronics & weapon systems) today.

I know the letter distinctions as to type aircraft. But what does CF stand for..

Canadian (RCAF)

All RCAF aircraft get the C designator (Canada), F is like the U'S. for fighter.
