After years of watching the hybrid era, I can confidently say that it's not the speed that makes good racing. It's close racing that makes good racing. Doesn't really matter much that the current engines are the fastest we have ever gotten. I wouldn't mind going back to these engines even if they are slower just because they sound better. F1 always had awesome sounds but these hybrid engines are just so disappointing.

Marc, you did 1:25 not that far from pole position. With this time you would have classified close to Liuzzi in 2006 in 15th place. Now, considering that you could have probably carried much more fuel (but also you drive a faster car from 2007) and you are already a 46 years old man in a no time lap attack...You are still performing very well! cheers from Italy :)

He also had the final chicane removed and grooveless tyres, so if we added both of them in he would have been slower than maybe even a Super Aguri. However, considering that he is not under any circumstance allowed to crash (few spare parts are left) and that the tyres, despite being grooveless were probably not designed around this car (Pirelli might have made special tyres I'm not so sure), it was a good lap.

@@gigadonis8684 Yep good spot, I completely forgot the chicane. Hakkinen I guess still remember it :D Btw, even curbs were different, especially in Acque Minerali. That chicane would have cost him around 5/6 secs. In general all the acceleration points are delayed and brake zones are anticipated. Speed difference into the corners is not that bad. Marc's commentary on Sky Italia is extremely technical, it is very interesting how drivers sees things under a different point of view (Same for Davide Valsecchi). Cheers man!
