Hi Jennifer, have you ever made what we in my family call “Bugles”? You melt vanilla almond bark in the microwave in 15-30 second intervals, mix in a can of mixed nuts and bugles. Drop on wax paper until set up. Yummy salty & sweet treat, and it makes a large quantity.

You do a splendid job with your grocery haul. You have a lot of mouths to feed. Sam, and Joe our older now, and probably can pack it away. I know you never leave Joe out, he is at a age were it’s hard to find the correct fit, what a loving boy, always hugging you, and saying hi to everyone. Sweetness is written all over his face.👍❤️

Hi Jennifer! Meal idea for your chicken strips (we just had it last night)! Use them in place of pounded/breaded/fried chicken breasts for a "chicken fried chicken" style dinner! Whip up some white peppered gravy and instant potatoes (love them!), side of corn, DONE!

I really like your approach to the menu plan with the food base along the top and then filling in the different beef, chicken etc meal for each week. I may give that a try. Honestly, I don’t enjoy cooking and haven’t been very inspired to create a menu plan. This might be perfect! Thank you for sharing with us.

We love those chicken strips from Aldi. They are very good! I can remember the beef hotdogs being $2.19 a pack (that's what they were when I first began going to Aldi just about 2 years ago). The last pack I bought was $3.49! You are right about the butter. I've gotten to where when I do see a good price on butter, I buy a couple of pounds whether I need it or not. I just pop it into the freezer. Great video!

I live in southern Ontario Canada and the cost of groceries is way higher here. Two person household budget is 350-500/month (we have two cats, some months you gotta get cleaning supplies etc., cannot justify the cost of red meat!).

Yes I keep a lot of canned beans and tomatoes on hand as well. And I always have already browned up ground turkey in the freezer. I can throw together a pot of chili in ten minutes flat. I use a very simple recipe and it's my husband's favorite thing to eat. We have chili once a week. By the way, I got a kick out of watching Peter and Maria pick on each other in the back seat. And Joe quietly "shushing" them. Joe is so absolutely adorable!

ALDI actually recently published an article about how drastically the supply chain issues are affecting their stores. The lack of bread and other products is simply because they can’t provide them. Our other stores here in Georgia that I shop at, in addition to Aldi, which are Kroger & Walmart are SO short of lots of groceries! Many of the shelves are bare. It’s kind of scary, I think. I mean, have you ever stopped to think what would happen if there were no groceries deliveries for a month? We’d all have to get creative, for sure! As always, Jennifer, I love your videos and thank you for sharing.

I went to a regional grocery store today. I decided to treat myself and splurge on a couple of pears. I knew the price per pound but I guess I was over confident in choosing 2 small/medium pieces. I ended up paying over $2. That really surprised me! Usually in the winter I buy big bags of citrus but this year I haven't been because they are more than I paid last year. Prices seem to be higher and higher each time I go in a store!

The mandarin oranges have been in syrup for awhile. I had been buying them for $0.75 and they were out and the shelf said $1.09. We are out of ours and I have been putting them on salads. Super bummed at the price increase. The price and availability on the sausage has been hit or miss here. When I saw them at $1.89 I bought a bunch and cooked and froze it. I intentionally send things separately to my grandkids, spread over a couple of weeks because it teaches them that just because one gets mail doesn't mean they all get mail. I love seeing your grocery hauls, here in Southern Alberta butter is $4.49, eggs $2.89, an orange 89 cents, apples $4.97 for 3 lbs., and chicken is $23 for 7 boneless skinless chicken breasts. I love it when I see people get deals.

I'm in Canada and we are not seeing big shortages like this, at least where I live, I do find some holes on the shelves but I can get most things or a decent substition. The "trucker" convoy is not causing shortages but is causing major issues for the residents who have to put up with the harassment, dirty behaviours, damage and noise the convoy brought with them. I support truckers but most are still working to get products into the stores and are not part of the Convoy and do not support it. I hope they don't come your way but chances are some will because they are trying to break it up.

I live in Ottawa that is actually not true. The convoy isn't causing problems at all. And they are not harassing the neighbors. I live in the area. It's locals that are actually doing harassing lol. And they aren't blowing the horns anymore. They are feeding everyone not just truckers. They been even feeding homeless people don't believe everything you see in media. Most is false info. I'm down there daily. I've been harassed more by people who are against the truckers. And we just show them love. Ottawa done everything to cause the convoy to get mad and they don't they actually cleaned city up. Ottawa is very dirty city and no garbage anywhere the convoy is. The police tried taking fuel away they didn't fight the police on it. Gave it to them. Next day police had to return it. They aren't leaving no matter what tricks the government tries.

Nice haul. Love the idea of hearts instead of kisses. So cute! With the socks, you could turn them inside out and mark them with a sharpie P,J,W. Might help. Also, butter freezes well. I really stock up when it goes on sale and freeze it. Or make your own with heavy whipping cream. I’ve been shopping sales, like you just started to do, for years. Takes awhile, but it adds up to a nice supply. Keep it up.

WOW!! I can't wait for the price book! Will you share that with us? I would even buy an e-copy!! That is what I have always wanted to help me know when things are a good deal. Also, Aldi will take those juices back and replace with what you want.

Blessings from Ireland 🇮🇪. Our butter is same price as yours Jennifer, it's expensive but I love real butter 🧈. Our tricolor peppers are £1 for a pack of 3, so definitely cheaper here. Maria's new socks are cute. Tfs busy Momma.🤩👍❤

I love pears. I haven't seen them for less than $1.69 on sale here in years. Everything is sooo expensive now. Especially paper goods like paper plates. I know that those are not a necessity but we use them to feed our cats on. 6 months ago I was paying $5.19 for 115 8 1/2" plates they are up to $7.79!

I live in GA and need to go to my local Aldi's soon as well. I want to compare prices where I live to where you live. I find it fascinating how some products are cheaper or more expensive in different regions of the country. Our shelves have been hit and miss and sometimes bare as well down South. Depends where you shop and what you're willing to pay for things. I need almond milk really bad, and typically Aldi's is the best price for that. Lactose free milk is also a good buy there. Unfortunately, we are a lactose intolerant family, but can have some dairy in small amounts. I loved your haul and considering how expensive it's getting out there, you did really great to buy a month's worth of food for 6 people under $400! Wow!

@@acountrylife I went to Aldi's today. I have a family of 5 at the moment. All adults. I spent $116.80 there and another $42.30 at Walmart for the things I couldn't find or buy at Aldi's. I only really needed fill-in things and produce this month. So that's why my cost is way lower. A few things: Almond milk is $1.79 per half gallon, Orange juice $2.15 per half gallon, 1/2 a pork loin was $5.54, a big flat of chicken drumsticks was $5.50, potatoes have gone up at $3.79 for 5lb bag. All the fresh fruit and veggies were priced pretty nicely. Bread has gone way up, so I didn't buy any this time. I'll make my own.

Hi Jennifer!! Awesome haul, as usual. I know Joe was happy you bought 4 boxes of Graham crackers ! I watched one of your videos from a couple of years ago...you made a few kinds of crock pot soups. One of them had wild rice in it, and It was delicious. I'm going to look that one up again and fix it. You are always cooking something yummy. I really want to try the cranberry cookies you made recently as well. I thought the idea of putting the white chocolate chips and macadamia nuts in them sounded scrumptious 😋

You mentioned pear/ cranberry pie. Sounds good. I volunteer at our local soup kitchen and we get lots of pies from the local grocery stores. I do the deserts and a pear/blueberry pie came in. I made one, it was excellent. I had never seen that combination. Yous sounds better. I love cranberries!! Great haul.

In my opinion you can never have to many canned tomatoes. I like the tomatoes without any spices added because I like it according to my own tastes. Last time I went I spent over three hundred dollars on chicken. lol 90 percent of my big upright freezer is full of chicken. Thanks for the video.

Meats prices are crazy! I also feed 6 family members & when I find a good deal I grab multiples for the freezer.I also coupon at CVS & Walgreens for savings on non-food items. I get most items free or for a very low price with my coupons. Tide, toilet paper, vitamins, etc.

You did really good! I haven’t been able to go into a grocery store, well honestly anywhere, I’m sooo shocked at the prices! That’s so sad, to me at least... I’m grateful my kids and oldest granddaughter can do this for me, it’s so unreal however when y’all are raising family and I thought I had it challenging, I’ll eat every word! Much peace and love.

We just did an Aldi trip in South Dakota and they were completely out of chicken. I have 5 kids and some need things at different times. We don’t get everyone stuff at the same time either. We’re definitely a need based family. Of coarse we get everyone a treat or something but not the same essentials.

Great grocery haul I wanted to start a price book but it seems that prices are changing weekly not sure if it's going to work. I also call my 15 and 14 year old are my little kids they always tell me mom we aren't little anymore in mama's eyes they will always be little. I have been planning my meals by choosing a weekly protein and working my menu plan around that meat so last week was ground beef so we had sloppy Joe's, spaghetti, tacos, hamburgers and leftovers as fill in. This week we are working off chicken we have pulled chicken sandwiches, fried chicken, chicken taquitos homemade, chicken fried rice, chicken and rice casserole and our just in case meal is chicken noodle soup. Next week's meals are going to be easy meals hot dogs, French bread pizza, spaghetti, tacos and valentines day we eat out.
