I was in Argentina in March this year, but in the not so touristy San Juan, La Rioja and Catamarca province. The only other tourists there were Argentines from other provinces and Uruguayans. The people were so curious about what I was doing there, as they rarely see tourists. They were so surprised to hear that I had to fly 15 hours to get there and they asked so many questions. Where I am from, what am I doing here, if I like it here, and so on. And they loved that I made an attempt to speak in Spanish. In the end they would always say ''You are very welcome here''. I never had a bad experience. Such great people, amazing food and insane landscapes

I remember when I first watched "The crazy day Messi saved his and Argentina's legacy" video on Copa90. I was in tears because I saw a man will his team through the WC qualifiers despite all odds. Watching people crticize and troll Messi for not being able to win an International trophy was agonizing. I would pray for Messi to win just one international trophy before he retired and silence the naysayers. Fast forward 7 years, Messi has now won 2 Copa Americas, a Finalissima and the crowning jewel, a World Cup. He has silenced all doubters and converted many into believers. What a comeback. Unparalleled legacy. Thanks Copa90 for this.

Beautiful documentary!! The only thing I don't agree with is the definition of "viveza criolla" shown. I think it's not necessarily relative to cheating and feeling satisfied for coming out triumphant despite that. Besides, the term covers more than this topic itself. Viveza criolla could save you from being robbed or scammed. But robbers or scammers could say that THEY are using it. It's complicated haha. In my opinion, what gives us satisfaction, at least in the case of the Hand of God, is the fact that it helped beating England right at that moment, after the so unjust war. It was like a very small revenge, compared to what came before. Anyway the second goal is like ok you want a "legal" goal? You got it.. So in that sense, I think that also gives to that match, and to Diego, a lot of validation, that makes the first goal secondary in terms of importance. For example, I don't enjoy the topic of the suspicious Bilardo's bottle against Brazil. Or some things about the 1978 WC aswell. I just wanted to mention this things, so that you don't get the idea that we are proud of, or trying to cheat as if it were our primary objective or method to begin with. Thank you!!!
@datrucconeКүн бұрын
Well said, "Viveza criolla" is like lateral thinking and can be used for good or bad. Many times the line between good and bad depends of who is using the "viveza" and the marketing on top of it.

Viveza Criolla: That uninformed and poorly worded journalist that says that it's the same for an Argentinian to make a feint and drugging a contender. That is NOT "viveza criolla". Viveza Criolla is the action of compensating for an injustice by means order or out of the rulebook. There's no "joy" in doing something "ilegal", but there's plenty in taking revenge in a way that cannot be repeated any other time, and brag about its timing and cleverness.
@d.romero3014Күн бұрын
Everything Jonathan Wilson says is false. He only repeats the “black legend” taught in the Anglo-Saxon world. Rio de la Plata has that name because the Spaniards believed that by going up that river they would reach Potosi, the largest silver mine in America, and that they could use that river to transport the extracted silver in a more direct way than by going through the Pacific to present-day Colombia, through the jungle and into the Caribbean. The Spaniards never took “enormous quantities of gold” from the Americas. It is estimated that during the rule of the Spanish Empire some 165 tons of gold were extracted in four centuries. Only 19 tons reached peninsular Spain, the rest is in churches, hospitals and universities throughout Latin America. By the way, the Anglo-Saxons did not establish a single miserable Sunday school in America. There was never any indigenous genocide in Spanish America. Spain never devised or executed any plan to exterminate the natives. On the contrary, from the beginning of the conquest what they wanted was to integrate the population into the Spanish Empire and in many cases they succeeded. In the particular case of Argentina, in the current territory of Argentina, it is estimated that there were only about 100,000 inhabitants when the Spaniards arrived. The vast majority interbred with the Europeans. Compare that with what happened to the North American Indians...

Argentina is a country so nostalgic for the past that it has inflation, which is like having a very old disease, like tuberculosis. Let's keep talking about the past. It is bullshit to say that Argentina was an economic power between 1880 and 1930. It exported a lot, yes, but it imported much more and what it imported was much more expensive than what it exported. The main export of Argentina in those years of wealth was flour, the main export today as well. Nothing has changed in 150 years. Today it is still like that. While the real economic powers were manufacturing automobiles, airplanes, airships, elevators, gramophones or machine guns, Argentina was manufacturing cookies (although tinplate for packaging had to be imported and in periods of crisis it was complicated).More money went out than came in: for expensive imports, for debt payments, for dividends to foreign companies. The same problems as today. That Argentina, an economic power, had debts it could not pay, lived on foreign loans and investments. Those meat packing plants mentioned in the video were British, as were all the strategic sectors of that economic model.
