How can everyone be so harsh about Snow? Try to see it from her perspective. She doesn't say she doesn't want Emma. She just wants to experience being a mother.

I was so thrilled about this, this scene is so damn honest. Snow will never get over the fact that she missed her only child's entire childhood, it breaks her heart everytime she is with Emma. I don't interpret this scene as Snow trying to replace Emma, not at all, she just wants to be a parent, from the beginning of her child's life. But she cannot reverse time, if she could I know that Snow would choose Emma a million times over before getting a new one. Of course it's hard to hear for Emma, but judging by the look on her face, she understands Snow, after all, she missed 10 years of Henry's life as well.

Completely agree with everything you said. Snow made it perfectly clear that she absolutely ADORES Emma. But she has a right to her feelings. She was robbed off the chance to get to actually raise her child, its natural that she'd want to experience that. I really, really hope that they give Snow and Charming another baby, I think it'd make for an awesome storyline for Snow and Charming and make for a great chance for Emma to form an even stronger bond with her parents.

totally agree with everything, but maybe not so much with the Emma's part. I don't think that is SO hard for Emma to hear it. She is not that connected with Snow and Charming, at this point we know that happens in the end of season 3. (with all that traveled time) It just took her for surprise, but i don't think she takes it like some kind of change at this point, cause she doesn't feel them completely as her parents yet

I REALLY wish Regina was there to hear snow's confession. I get that she's been trying to change, but her redemption isn't going to come from being a good mother to Henry or being nice to Emma, it's going to come when she looks at Snow and admits that she was wrong to blame a child for the horrors of her own mother. Especially now that she's fighting so hard to find her son, she needs to hear what it's like to have your child ripped from you and miss their ENTIRE life.

I can see why Snow didn't want to admit that…she didn't want to hurt Emma but even Emma has said that. I can't blame her. She's a mother who got cheated out of getting to be a mother. At least Emma got Henry at 10…Snow missed everything. And her confession just makes Charming's confession even more heartbreaking. I hope they can find a way to get him off the island.

This is sharing deepest secrets. I don't think that this is selfish at all. This is snow's honest and raw feelings, something that she would never admit outloud. She didn't mean to hurt Emma, but this is how she truly felt.

That's exactly why it was a deep secret that she didn't want to admit. Snow NEVER said she didn't want to know Emma. She said she feels cheated that she didn't get to see her child grow up. All Snow has been trying to do since the curse broke is to be a mother to Emma but as Emma herself admitted a few episodes ago, it may be too late for that. They missed that window in Emma's life, but just because Snow wants another chance to raise a child doesn't mean she doesn't want to know her daughter.

Emma wasn't adopted when she was three. The backstory is," I had a family till I was three, then they had their own kid, so they sent me back". Said by Emma, to henry during the pilot, at his,"castle".

Honestly I understand snow. Emma already matured by the time she found Snow & Charming. Any act of snow trying to be a mom to Emma seemed like it was too late for everything. She didn’t say she didn’t want Emma, she just missed a huge chunk of her life.

Am I the only one who got really surprised by her confession? It's always happy-go-lucky for Snow but this scene makes us realized that she is disappointed in some way and that she could never admit it. It kind of adds some deeper layers to her character. Her's and Hook's were the best secrets hands down.

I would have liked to see a sane showing what Emma thought of this. As emma has faced 28 years of feeling like she was alone, just to finally find her perants and hear this makes it sound like finding her wasn't enough and now her parents want to repace her. I can't help feel bad for her as we later see with senses when emma says he sure has a lot of stuff and snow says we wanted to give him everything. We see all the toys and attention baby neal was getting everything Emma should of had.

Yeah Emma had a rough childhood but how do you think snow and charming felt just sending their daughter away they did that to protect her cause she would have been killed and it still haunts snow and charming that they can never get that time back. Yeah she could have said it better. But if you have never sat there rehearsing a difficult confession like that in your head then thinking finally perfected it only to have it come out far less gracefully than you intended (mostly because of nerves), well then you're fortunate. It's clear she was ashamed for feeling that way but as Emma herself said "feelings can't be helped." She loves her daughter and she is trying but she doesn't even know what she's doing. She never got to be a mother and raise her child. And now she's a 29 year old woman trying to be a mother to another 29 year old woman who until a year or so ago was a complete stranger to her. And I don't know about you all but when I'm struggling with matters of the heart I go to my mom for advice. That's what Emma has done with Snow in regards to Henry many times. But Snow doesn't have that. Not only that she doesn't even have her own experiences growing up to fall back on because she lost her own mother when she was very young and the only mother figure she really had after that was a woman who deeply hated her and repeatedly tried to ruin her life. All I'm saying is Snow is on her own and she's doing her best. But she's far from perfect. Oh and one final thing: the only reason she confessed it at all is because Pan's cruel game forced her to. It was her darkest secret and one I'm sure she never planned on telling anyone, least of all Emma.

Does everyone but me forget that when Emma was three she was adopted, but the family had their own kid so they sent her back to the orphanage and snow has just repeated what all of Emma's foster parent's have done in the past. Not wanting her, and want to replace her. I dislike snow right now. I have been thinking about this for a while, think of it this way. Snow and David can have another chance at having a child to raise, but Emma can never have another childhood.

I agree kathryn Molter, in that, Snow does deserve to raise another child from birth. She got gipped the first time around. As for Emma, she pushes snows affection away, because she doesn't know the child-like love of a mother. She never had it growing up. Where I disagree with you, is with Emma letting her guard down, it will never happen independently because she's been so hurt.

of course I realise that the Charmings did what they thought was best for her from the first moment and they had to raise her and be able to live all the moments they have ever dreamed...however things were hard for Emma too. she has always been alone and we watched her crying-at the first episode- because when she was 3 she was adopted and then returned to the foster system,because her parents would have another child...so,this brings a lot of painfull memories...

Well it has been obvious since Emma´s lashed to them in 2x01 that she feels huge quilt and misses all they have lost. So I wasn´t surprised at all and understand completely why she feels this way. Just that´s sad that it still won´t take away the fact they missed it all with Emma. So the quilt & pain wouldn´t go away ever.

I've said it before, I think something Really bad happen to her very young. And I'm not just referring to her adoptive parents putting her back. Actually, in the Cave of Echos, Emma's confession couldn't be about her parents. She was there to,"save" Neal! In order to do so, her confession had to be about her "true" feeling for him.

Snow is ashamed and she better be. It's pathetic to want another baby for your convenience just because you think life's unfair for cheating you. It's a punch in the gut, making Emma feel she's not enough. Snow is about 60 years old in a young body, so worry about your will, grandma. And don't say Snow deserves a child either after she risked the life of another baby to make sure Emma would be on the good side.

You want to know what's pathetic? The fact that you are ripping into a character whose newborn child was effectively torn from her arms with only one chance of recovery in the following 21 years, after she was already bearing the guilt of having been tricked into sacrificing another's child for her own (remember, Snow and David thought that they'd be able to return Maleficent's egg to her). All because you're too blind to understand that the average parent would look at you with utter contempt if you even suggested that their goal in having more than one child is to replace their previous children. Nowhere along the line did she ever even imply that she thought Emma wasn't worth it, or that she was having Neal just out of convenience. She was forced to miss every moment of a child's growth, and at least she has the chance to experience similar moments with Neal. Emma too gave up Henry and missed much of his childhood, but no one is faulting her for having Hope, even though she gave up Henry just because she didn't want to deal with being a single mother with a crime record. Even though she kept trying to pull Henry and Regina apart for the first few seasons. Despite all of that, Emma didn't want to replace Henry with Hope, she simply wanted to take the opportunity to experience things she missed while she still had the chance. Just like Snow. And the entire reason Snow was uncertain was because she was afraid of Emma being jealous. Henry handled it so much more maturely than Emma did. Emma was the one holding onto the past, not Snow. Emma didn't release her jealousy until after Ingrid's curse. Snow let go of the past long before Emma did.
