Why the hell do people ship Emma and Regina? Not only is it incestuous, it's abusive. People think they're in love? Apparently “in love” consists of shipping Emma with a woman who: -orphaned her (1x01) -put killing her (when she was a NEWBORN) on her “to-do” list (3x09) -tried to kill her parents for countless years (all of season 1) -framed Emma for stealing Archie’s files to get her out of town (1x02) -killed/raped Graham, all out of spite and to keep revenge going (1x07) -committed an illegal crime to get sealed files to slander her for an election (1x08) -put Henry in danger (and lbr KILLED him) so she could keep him as "hers" when he didn't want to be with her then (1x22) -basically took Henry as prisoner (he tried to escape out a window with tied up blankets!) (2x02) -would let her mommy kill Henry’s other side of the family and just sit and watch (2x16) -wanted to take Henry away and let everyone else die (2x20) -constantly belittles her and doesn't believe in her (”pathetic waste of ability” -3x06, “how could she be so stupid?” -5x01, “Incapable of feeling anything” 1x07, “I won’t hold my breath” -5x21) -took away her agency with a dagger (which is, lbr, mind rape, like the Imperius Curse in Harry Potter) (5x08) -doesn’t regret ANY of the above aforementioned deeds (”I did cast a curse that devastated an entire population. I have tortured and murdered. I’ve done some terrible things. I should be overflowing with regret, but, I’m not. Because it got me my son.” -3x09) But yeah, this is TOTALLY the fairy-tale romance EVERYONE craves for, huh?

You literally just listed the things Regina did before she started her road to redemption. She was a literal villain when she committed those acts. If you want to talk about the past, then sure! Hook was not so different in his PAST either, in fact his past is quite the parallel to Regina's: He killed without remorse, he spent most of his life (hundreds of years- a lot longer than Regina) seeking revenge rather than forgiving and moving on with his life, he sold Baelfire (the love of this life's child just to remind you) to Pan knowing that he was leaving another child as an orphan, he killed his own father out of revenge and jealousy leaving his baby brother (also) an orphan, he called Emma "dried up, dead, and useless" before leaving her to starve to death in a cell knowing he was separating a child from his mother... I mean, I could go on all day, but please ignore all of Hook's past wrongdoings and call him a hero whilst condemning Regina for her's. That makes perfect sense! :) And in relation to Henry, you have to remember that Regina spent her entire childhood being raised by her abusive mother while her father (who she loved and depended upon) stood back and watched the abuse take place for years- not being able to do a single thing to help his daughter. All Regina learnt from her early life experiences is that when you do good, you are still punished (eg. saving Snow's life)- so you either have to be a sheep, or you have to be a wolf and take what you want (just like her mother taught her- that love is weakness). When you understand this mentality that was instilled upon Regina, and then reinforced through Rumple's mind games, then it's easier to understand some of the poor choices she made as a parent. You made it sound as if Regina intentionally 'killed' her son. No- she tried to put Emma (her enemy and threat to break her curse and kill her) under a sleeping curse because she didn't want Henry being taken away from her. He was the only happiness she had in her life. She was wrong to keep Henry a 'prisoner' and realized this mistake and that she was repeating history with her mother- she let him go with Charming. This was a huge milestone for Regina. She realized that forcing Henry to stay with her won't make him love her. She decided to let him go and work on herself to EARN his love. Please re-watch the "I want to redeem myself" scene from 2x02 because it sounds like you missed it. And back to Emma and Regina- did you not realize that Regina was purposely trying to 'rile' Emma up in that Neverland scene? "Magic is emotion". She wanted Emma to use her anger to fuel the fire, which actually ended up working and was the reason why Emma was later able to save Hook and Neal from the shadow. And that fact aside, "you're such a pathetic waste of ability" is not abusive. In other words, she was telling Emma that she was wasting her potential by not wanting to follow her advice and use her anger to start the fire. She knew even then what Emma was capable of and we have seen time and time again how Regina believes in Emma's powers and was key to helping Emma discover her magical abilities and put them to use. That line was actually acknowledging the fact that Regina knew Emma could actually pull it off if she tried. "How could she be so stupid?" She didn't want Emma to sacrifice herself to save her. She was angry over the situation and she now had an incredible weight of responsibility over Emma's fate since she was the reason why Emma took on the Dark Curse in the first place. She hated that because she didn't believe she could truly be a hero (she mentions this numerous times in S5). She didn't think she had what it took to save Emma, so in the moment she expressed that anger and frustration. Regina tends to use anger and insults as a way to distance herself from people when she is feeling emotional- that's just one of her traits. Like the time Emma jumped off the Jolly Roger and almost drowned and Regina called out "idiot!" or the few times she referred to Emma as "Swan" or "Miss Swan" after they had formed a friendship. It's actually a signal that Regina genuinely cares and she shows it through these outbursts of distress. "I won't hold my breath." Regina was pissed at Emma for losing faith in her and for not letting her help when she showed in the moment that she was rational and could separate herself from her problems and be of use ("Right now, neither one of our feelings matter," "where should we start?"). If you've never snapped back at a person for hurting your feelings or for pissing you off in some way, then you must be a saint. Regina is human. People get angry, it's natural. And Emma even knew why Regina said what she did hence the eye roll in response. She knew Regina was having a go at her and didn't genuinely think she couldn't find Henry. Please remember that she had literally just lost the love of her life and now felt betrayed by her friend. The dagger scene: Regina forced Emma to face the truth but gave her the power to choose whether or not to see it. She told her she was "helping" her break down her walls and that she could "show" Emma, but only Emma could "choose to see." Emma was slipping further and further into darkness (ie. denial) and out of urgency to save her life, Regina stepped in and forced Emma to face her fears. If it weren't for this and Emma being able to admit the truth to herself (whatever that truth was), she might have never been able to light that spark. But Regina didn't "break down" Emma's walls, she allowed her to do that for herself. In the end, Emma gave in and allowed herself to see before Hook snatched the dagger out of Regina's hand. Hook on the other hand literally told Emma, "I liked being the one to break down your walls". That sentence alone is problematic, because the only person who should break down a person's walls is themselves.

As Jessica Jones once said "you can't unkill a person." I don't care how redeemed could become. She's STILL committed horrific crimes far worse than any other villain on this show. Regina's the only character to have been confirmed to have killed a mass number of people at a time (watch season 2, episode 20), INNOCENT people who didn't do anything wrong. She also killed her father, a man who LOVED her for years. This wasn't an abusive father or a father who abandoned her. It was a man she loved, but it was all because of her stupid revenge over a little girl that she committed such a heinous sin. She raped a man. Period. No other person has been demonstrated to do something so terrible like, how on Earth can you defend her? Snow's her friend? Man, I'd love to see what happens to her. Regina's "friends" don't tend to be treated very well by her. Remember Maleficent, whom she trapped in dragon form for 28 years under the library?

I liked the majority of the last ep, but I just couldn't' realistically believe that the Evil Queen could hold Snow's heart in her hand and then suddenly change her mind about what kind of revenge she wants after five seasons of being all like 'Bring me her heart'. Dodo F. we will know by the end of the midseason and they are making the rest of the season. the last few episodes will set up the premise for the next plot. Same as the last few episodes of the midseason. To me, there have been about at least 8 whole seasons worth of plot.

That wouldn't change the fact that for one to be awake the other has to be sleeping....David didn't go under the curse because he was the one to break it on Snow it was because the curse was broken in the first place. The curse is on the heart, irrespective of who breaks Snow and David can never be awake at the same time
