Once Upon a Time in China IV 黃飛鴻之四王者之風 Review (Vincent Zhao Wen Zhuo)

Vincent Zhao is much more talented & skillful in Kung Fu in real life than Jet Li. Jet Li knew some and the movies used technical effects to help his performance. We could see long time ago that Jet Li could not compare to Vincent Zhao or reach the level of clear & crisp Kung Fu dance that Vincent Zhao was able to perform. I always thought Jet Li was not a good actor as much as everybody praised him. People overrated him and maybe because of his luck that pushed him to become successful as Wong Fei Hong meanwhile the real actor who deserved to be a symbolic icon of this hero should be Vincent Zhao. Feel sad and disappointed for many years to see a talented one who doesn't have much luck to help him reaching the highest & brightest star. But many people still look up to him more than Jet Li. I'm one of them.

I actually really like both actors but I think Zhao pulls of both modern films and wuxia films equally well while Jet Li always felt a bit odd in modern settings. Zhao's kicking ability is much cleaner that Li's. Jet Li has been fortunate to be featured in many classic films and u can't deny he was good in; Fong Sai Yuk, Legend of fists and many more. But poor Zhao despite just can't make it big for some reason. I have to say Zhao has had equally as many opportunities but none of them panned out; as Huang Fei Hung, Tsui Harks The Blade, Fong Sai Yuk 1 as the villain, Majong Dragon Directed by Cory Yuen Kwai, Yuen Woo Pings True Legend, Gordon Chan's God of War and many more but they all failed to resonate. not to mention his countless big budget TV series and Web films.

@@asiancinemabox8649 Even any actors have more talent & skill than others, they may not be successful as it should be. This is what we call "destiny". It's something Chinese people are so afraid and dare not challenge. If someone has destiny for something, they will go sky-high without needing much attempt and effort. If they don't have, no matter how much they're good, with great perseverance, it's hard to achieve anything because their paths are not supported by heaven... no luck, no destiny. Poor Zhao!
