I learned how to be calm in all situations as a flight instructor, charter pilot, and aerobatic pilot. Panic, or fear when flying is very deadly. I saved my and my student's life more than once when they did something dumb and deadly. It tends to spill over into every aspect of your life. Fear and panic are a complete waste of your time and energy as they never accomplish anything good.
