Onda by Ellen Wille in Bahama Beige Shaded, My Observations

I sent you an email in case you miss this reply I received this reply back from Jeorgia with Ellen Wille: “Hi, I hope you are doing well! Onda does have a soft lace material that is softer than the standard (more common) welded lace used on Narano. Thank you!” As to why? Who knows! They typically use Swiss Lace. They even sell it on the EW website. But if it’s French lace I love my Mid-Length Beach Wave with a French Lace and have had no issues. Strange no one else has mentioned it. I may have to try this one if I can find an acceptable color. That’s the issue with many of her styles.

Thank you so much, Liz! Always love to see you commenting. I see you on Wednesday nights, but I watch through my husband's FB page so I can't participate. Green and purple shades are my favorites, separately and in combination! I love the purple frames, too! In spite of the dark root, which is thankfully very neutral to ashy on this one, I've been wearing Onda a lot! Love this style. Lighter density than Girl Mono, for sure.

I love the curl pattern! That brown root is too dark for me, though.

It's not as dark as it appears on camera, but it is darker than I wear, certainly. That said, I'm tired of selling off the pieces that I love other than the root, as long as that root is not reddish in tone, so I may keep this one for awhile and see how I feel wearing it. Ellen Wille needs to get their act together and come up with more and better blondes for us non root wearing folk.

Thank you, Jean! This curl pattern seems to be the perfect middle ground between a completely shattered wave and the barrel curl. I really like it! I might have to just deal with the root and keep her. She feels really good, I have to say, good fit for me. God bless!

I was on the fence about this one. Ordered and then cancelled. Same question about the colors. I think the root would be too dark for me. The color is really good on you and I love the curl pattern and density.

If EW would just get real and put out some non rooted blondes or at least, more subtly rooted ones, they'd appeal to a larger customer base. This wig in five more colors that didn't follow that rooted pattern the brand is stuck in (a big rut for them) would really be fabulous. Thanks, Margaret.

@@frontporchwigchat6260 I am not buying any more EW for now, because of the colors. I am going with JR petites. Their colors are are good and interesting. I find I like a lot of variety in a color with lowlights and highlights. I Love RW, but the caps are too big and the density often too much. I like a lot of what I see in Belle Tress, but afraid of the cap sizes. I am a true petite. Thanks for sharing your information with us.

@@tassey I don't really love RW any more, personally, not a fan of the fibers. They always clump so badly on me, even wearing them as infrequently as I do. Funny thing is, I can wear Jon Renau petites *and* Belle Tress pieces. I still have my January Petite that I put away for awhile, just because I got tired of January and wanted to change it up a bit. I am a petite-avg. Other than my 22" circumference, my other measurements are child size. I wish I could find more Jon Renau colors I wanted. They also have too many darkly rooted shades for me. It's never easy, is it?

It is a very pretty style! I do like the front better than Girl Mono. I wonder if it's the cap that is making it feel lighter as GM only weighs 3.1 oz. I'm going to ask Jeorgia with Ellen Wille about that lacefront!

I wish you were here so you could feel those two lace fronts together, the Onda and the Narano. They are def a bit different, the material. Maybe the hair is just sewn in thicker at the lace front on Narano and makes it feel like the lace is stiffer? Could be feel of the Onda is due to more layering and/or shorter layers around the back, not really sure, but it did impress me as lighter overall than my GMs have been. Could be not in weight, but just in the way the layers and waves move better or something. Who knows? The only thing consistent about EW is the inconsistency!

​@@frontporchwigchat6260 True...I have a love hate relationship with EW. I sent Jeorgia a msg via IG about the lacefront. I'll let you know what she says. It's like that Miley I did a review on. It's not dense at all. I even checked the weight on my scales and there was a VERY slight weight difference. Certainly not enough to make that kind of difference! I woke what permatease there is on the cap as much as I could and sprayed it with Wig Wax & hair spray! I can get a little volume in it but not like I've seen in other reviews but then again I don't push all the hair towards the front either. If I did it wouldn't stay that way without product. I do try to keep it real as you do too.

@@TheIndecisiveWigWearer as far as company reps go and/or customer service at these companies, you recall the insanity when I tried to tell that company that their stock photo was not even the wig being sold and they argued with me all day long. It didn't even look like the same wig and it wasn't styling, but a different cut and length. Later, they quietly changed those stock photos and refused to admit I had been right, just acted like they did nothing wrong, nothing to see here, etc. I haven't purchased from them since that day. And before that, TressAllure ignored me when I told them that their Mia wig was not 2.4 oz, but 4.2 oz and they still have that wrong on the stats. Most of those have left a bad taste in my mouth, being dismissive of customers, so I hesitate to even talk to them any more.

I have this one too. I love the style and the front much more than Girl Mono. What I’m not wild about is the color. It’s almost the same as their Champagne Rooted. I was expecting something cooler toned. Typical EW….

I agree! I preferred the density over GM, not that heavy bang area that GM tends to have. You're right that the color is very close to Champagne Rooted, though that color varies, too. Yes, typical Ellen Wille, never know what you're going to get. I personally wish they would add a couple of non-rooted blondes to their lineup. EW never saw a dark root she didn't like and I was never one to color my hair. Always something we're dealing with in the wig life! Thanks for stopping by the channel again.
