A hostile work environment can exist if an employee (whether in a supervisory or non-supervisory role) harasses or even bullies an individual on the basis of his or her sex, age, race, or other protected characteristic.
Bullying is an issue that has gained increasing attention in our nation’s schools, and several states require that teachers and students attend mandatory bullying prevention training programs. Unfortunately, bullying doesn’t always stop after you hang up your cap and gown.
Creating a harassment-free workplace starts with prevention training. Learn more about SkillPath's on-demand training specifically designed to help companies create a harassment-free work culture. skillpath.com/ondemand/preven...

I've been working since 2007 and in all my jobs I was bullied, by bosses and colleagues, I don't believe anymore that there is a place that people fully respect others.

Really, work life would be *_massively easier_* if bosses/leads knew how to *pick their battles wisely.* One of the issues I've noticed with bad bosses is that they quickly assume the worst about your _character and integrity._ *There must be ongoing patterns* of bad behaviors/constantly calling out/etc before making foolish assumptions! _(and no, legitimate health issues and emergencies don't count!)_ Also, resorting to *_personal insults and threats_* are too far, unacceptable and illegal -- they must be reported to HR immediately (hopefully that will get them to stop or at least straighten up next time). This woman should document and escalate asap! *Never be afraid to use your employee rights against an abuser in the workplace!*

Based on Protected characteristic? Is it ok to bully someone that’s not on the list? How about based on respect everyone.

I agree. The first point should be equality, and then this equality can lead to unequal treatment of unequal persons and, thus, special considerations for vulnerable persons or groups. But being part of a "protected group" can very easily result in overprotection and injustice for the rest.

Many of these videos are totally lame. The kind of harassment that many encounter in the working places is much more like organized crime and has nothing to do with the really lame videos you see as training videos at work. I enjoy so many different things in my life and share only in private only with someone I trust. I am being bullied by aggressive workers and clients that visit the business who also know the aggressive workers. I enjoy sharing things that matter to me only in very private ways and would only do so with a person that I trust. I am being followed and stalked at work. Nasty people that get in my way, that get into my personal space and all purposely talk about subjects I do not talk about all day, because such subjects are not on my agenda and furthermore these monsters harass me with dirty scenarios that are never on my agenda. I love discussing politics intelligently with the one person I trust via texting on my phone. These strangers get too close to me, while my spine already curls in disgust because it is obvious by their strange and aggressive behavior that these are people I would never make an effort to get to know. I also discuss a very private personal court case with only the one person that I trust on my phone via text. Many different other areas I discuss with this person inlude: History, natural sciences, psychological matters, criminal justice matters, as well as partnership matters. And these monsters follow me and the workers there harass me in the worst ways. All these people are a part of organized crime gangs, and no normal person would want to know the members of these gangs. The few people that I have normal discussions with at work I enjoy occasional small talk with. The stalkers and mobbers have connections with people they know that live in the same neighborhood, strangers I have absolutely no connections with. Strangers I make it very clear to that I want nothing to do with them: and yet, they force themselves aggressively into my way. I am so happy when I am at home and research interesting and fun matters, as soon as I am in public these stalkers not only force themselves into my way by force, but also force feed me boring lame and inappropriate information about themselves, including either discussing their private matters in front of me, which no normal person wants to listen to or they go so far as to talk all day long about useless, disloyal cheating behaviors that involve themselves and other people and they discuss these matters all day long. I never discuss these strange matters and strange scenarios because in my life such scenarios do not occur and I would certainly not ever be involved in such scenarios. I am always behaving in opposite ways of these dirty people and yet they stalk me and talk trash all day long.

The training we had was so pathetic and geared toward victim hood. That the people to worry about will see the soft people who cry over attention and little things or bring annoyed, even more as a victim and weak. Exactly what predators like going after as forcing people to do stuff goes how well in abusive relationships where the abuser gets in trouble... And as noone is usually there till it's too late as soft people expect help to arrive or for people that don't care to do what's right... So less independent and more reliant on things that only help after the fact. But ignore that fact of life... And how walking on eggshells also isn't mentally healthy either. As there are also literally people in the world that if they don't like you they don't joke and give you a hard time like they do with those they like.... And it's funny to cause government gets to be sexist and enforce stereotypes that even deny biological and physical reality and push news and ideas that immigrants bring in terrorists and let people expose children to sexual things like that Christina Aguilera performance at a family friendly event. Hell government even tried pinning the baby formula shortage on LGBTQ as well and has said racist things thier whole term in office calling Hispanics tacos and as if maths too hard for my race cause of our color. Putting all races in media doing bad things do everyone's scared of even thier own race... But government officials don't need training... Like news flash society was doing better before everyone was viewed as victims unable to handle anything unlike previous generations that weren't so thin skinned and offended by everything.... Crazy to cause you can literally see America falling apart more and more as people cry more and more... So if people that are such victims get it worse from bad people that usually get worse when you try to force changes. Don't cry cause centuries of history show us what happens when all you are is a victim and you try to change bad people forcfully. Even got some so bad they'll shoot you over getting a hamburger wrong...
