55yo Just moved up to 32kg two-handed swing (hardstyle!). I'm now swinging a third of my bodyweight...experience has taught already (1400 reps in) me that I'll not touch the one-handed version until I've got 10,000 actuations in the bag. My thoracic spine needs to prepare. Great vids.

ok. i have a question on the path of the one arm swing that i have not quite figured out: for path of the one arm swing, should it always be in the mid-line (so start and end in the median sagital plane), or should it start close to the left leg (if the kettlebell is held in the left hand) and end up just left of midline at the top? (and same thing if the kettlebell is held in the right hand.), or should the kettlebell start on either left of midline (if held in left hand) or right (if held in right hand) and end up at midline at the top of the swing before following the return path? (and same thing for the right hand).

I now go to the gym once a week and only do deadlifts and squats, trying to push for a personal record (PR). The other 5 days, I do S&S training at home and rest one day.

Great angle to see kettlebell path. When I focus on packing my shoulder it moves the bell too far in that direction. Makes the swing more of an arc. Something to practice and fix.

Pavel, I’ve been swinging KBs for 15 years. Your book was my guide. I don’t understand why no one is using lighter KBs and showing everyone the real health benefits of the incredible kettlebell. Why do you think that is?

He says in Simple & Sinister that using light KBs doesn’t engage the posterior chain sufficiently and overuses the arms. Also that it’s for sissies 😂

Do you lock your knees?
@Sam-vk8xd
@Sam-vk8xd 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, you must squeeze your quads, also known as “pull up the knee caps”, to protect the knees. Do not hyper extend through the hips, squeeze the Glutes and tighten the abs. You must be Straight. Like a plank. If you plank on the ground everything will be tight from the tip of your toes to the tip of your head. At the top of the swing it is the same, only you are holding on to the kettlebell controlling it. Tighten those quads to protect the knees. If you feel knee pain you are not doing it right.
