Hi Andy, Great Video. I just wanted to find out how big is the laptop compartment. Rumour has it that it can fit a 15-inch mac Macbook Air, but I never gotten any confirmation on this from goruck's website.

Would love to know this as well! Mine doesn’t fit in my 16L Bullet Laptop and am thinking of trying this one.

Sadly, I don't have a computer that big, though it fits my 14" macbook pro just fine.

Thanks! It's been hard for me to dig up the mental energy to film a lot lately, but when I realized I looked over my packed bag as though I was narrating a video, I thought I might as well film it!
@MS-ge2jb4 ай бұрын
IMHO the shoulder strap is not wide and thick enough to bear that much weight.
@AndyModellBackpacks4 ай бұрын
I don’t think it’s necessarily a big enough bag for it to be a problem
@RebeccaSmith775 ай бұрын
Also, it's awesome that you referred to your TB Side Effect as a purse. I love that. Not many dudes would do that.😊
@McAero088 ай бұрын
Thx Andy. It seems to hold more than 18 litres. I would even put it above the 21 LGR1. I think it’s time you bring out your socks again and make a comparison video. 😁 That 26 liter comparison video is really helpful. And they socks are a great visualisation.
@AndyModellBackpacks8 ай бұрын
Definitely a comparison worth making. Sadly, I’ve downsized on the socks, so I’d have to find something else

The 26L GR2 also fits spirit airlines personal item restriction (I’ve traveled with it many times)

Not for this bag, but it does with gr2s.

How do the A19 cubes compare to others like eagle creek and peak design? If you have tried those.
@AndyModellBackpacks8 ай бұрын
I liked that these have compressibility. Otherwise, they’re similar in size to the eagle creek, but not dual compartment like the peak design. This one was the right size for me, though.

Love the content and with realistic packing demonstration. How would you compare this with the Alpha One Niner Whitley. They both seem like great candidates for a mixed EDC + short trip bags and to be a similar size (20 vs 18L). Are there any features in one that stick out to you over the other?
@AndyModellBackpacks8 ай бұрын
I think a big difference is that this has a smaller size profile but maybe a bit more depth while the Whitley has more organization. I’d say that if I were going to school/work, the Whitley would be preferred, but I like this for more adventurous travel

Thank you for this. It's nice to see this bag packed for traveling. I just ordered the 18L, and I am wanting to use it for international trips that are over a week long. This proved to me that I can definitely use it for one-bag traveling. I will be packing a medium sized Thule compression cube, a small Nomatic compression cube, my liquids pouch, a tech pouch, a crochet project, important papers folder, snacks, and my Fjallraven Vardag crossbody bag (because the backpack itself will have to be a carry-on as it's too big for the airline personal item dimensions). But I think I can fit it all easily into this bag after watching this video.
@AndyModellBackpacks5 ай бұрын
I think the main consideration is how much you fill all those cubes with. Some stuff only compresses down so tight
@RebeccaSmith775 ай бұрын
I *think* I can make it work. I went to Ireland in March, and both my clothing packing cubes (I brought way more than I needed), a crochet project, and a tech pouch fit into my Tom Bihn Paragon 2.0. Having made that trip, I came home, and did a practice pack to see if I could only use one medium packing cube for clothing and still have room. I can. I may have to bring a crossbody bag if the Goruck ends up too big for under the seat. But I think I can make it work with this one Goruck bag. When it arrives, I will do a test pack run to see. ☺️ Having laundry facilities wherever I stay will mean I can pack less clothing.
