Thanks, Eric. Rick was hugely instrumental in the local folk community, promoting so many shows, from small church gigs to the Somerville Theater. He loved what he was doing so much, that he often wouldn't let us (his volunteers) help lighten his load. I'll never forget all the times we handed out hundreds of playbills and brochures on upcoming shows....and then regathered them at the end of the night. And, of course, his 'key' tricks on stage. I'm very sad, and will miss Rick dearly.

Rick did as much to promote my music as anyone in my Boston days. One of the great characters in the music scene. Many funny memories with Rick and some of the most memorable concerts and bills were with Rick at the Somerville Theater. Much love and light to this tireless champion of Boston Songwriters. Beautiful song-great job Eric.

We are so saddened to hear about Rick's passing. GetBack! Beatlemania performed for him and Songstreet many times at Somerville Theater and always had a great time. He made it an annual party for several years. He was a pro and a good friend. We will miss him very much. Thank you for sharing this beautiful remembrance.

I am so very sad this morning. When I was running the Somerville during Songstreet's peak, Rick was just a massive pain in my ass. But you just couldn't help but love the guy and appreciate the intense love he had for the music. My last night there in '99 was a Songstreet show. After we were all cleaned up and load-out was done, Rick and I, and Kevin So, just sat on the edge of the stage, played guitar and sang songs until 3 or 4 am. That meant a lot to me. We stayed friends for the next 20+ years. Mostly we'd talk on the phone - usually about some horrible boston sports moment, or music... or his never ending infatuation with Gilmore Girls. :) We'd get together at least once a year, usually at Fenway, to catch up. Lately I've been thinking a lot about all the singer/songwriters who graced that stage. So many of those artists got to play their first "big audience" there. And it was because of Rick. He was never in it for the money. Obviously. And god damn it, that's what I loved most about him. Thanks for this Eric. It's a great tribute. Well done.
