DISCLAIMER: Unfortunately my video got corrupted during split 2, I'm sorry for that.

Why Catalyst?
At the start we were having ppl bench different classes on 1mil golems with whatever boons and vuln they selfsustain. We looked at berserker and herald, but after a couple days someone posted a catalyst golem that was bsaically 50% over what the previous classes we did so we were like "I guess we play that". Catalyst also provides a ton of vulnerability and might. Also Sand Squall allowed to extend quickness from main phases to be extended through the following split phase.
Frost Bow:
For this competition it was important to break Gorsevals breakbar fast. We had a CC plan with lightning hammer, which was technically more dps, but we learned that the splitphase seems to be delayed if you break Gorseval late into his phase.
After we started using Frost Bow we reliably had transition times of 0.1s to 0.2s. This allowed our killtimes to stay very competitive even compared to the Gorseval kill snow crows did with weavers and alacrity! On another note, Frost Bow 3 does 5 more projectiles than the tooltip suggests.
Split Phase Management:
The split adds with quickness-supports are naturally faster than the ones without.
For this reason, half the dps catalysts would save their elite for the second phase since they can hold back all their cooldowns during the first split.
The other half of the dps catalysts would use elite in phase1 since the dps check to skip spirits is the most tight there.
