Man! That’s a good question. It’s been a while, but I really like some of the frozen pizza’s at Trader Joe’s. My favorite back in the day were by Tombstone, but I know objectively it can’t be the best. Tombstone used to make this mexican style pizza back in the 90s that, for some reason, I loved.

@@creativecatproductions Yes, I remember that pizza! If I'm not mistaken, it had a very thin layer of refried bean spread with a few diced tomato toppings, olives, and taco sauce. (I might be wrong about that....and it may have been Red Baron I'm thinking about.) Anyway, good choice. My favorite a couple of years back came from Aldi, believe it or not. The brand was Mama Cozzi and it was a very thin and crunchy crust, and it was Cuban style (thin ham slices and banana peppers, a small amount of white sauce and mozzarella cheese). God it was good, and now I can't find it in store anymore. Anyway, later dude!

I tend to go for the deep dish (either Detroit or Chicago-style) when I order pizza. I usually order from small chains or independent pizzerias.

I think my personal favorite style, however, is the thick Detroit style where the bread is like focaccia. You can’t eat a lot of it, but it’s so satisfying!

Try a Red Barron 4 Cheese Pizza, and put a whole head of broccoli on it before you put it in the oven. Did that last week, and I'm still talking about it.

His frozen pizza is good in the sense it cooks well. I too prefer thinner New Yark pizza over a chikahgo style deep dish. Its not doughy. Most of the thicker frozen pizzas end up doughy, and if you try to fix it, end up burning the sh*t out of them instead. On the other hand, the OB Pizza is bland AF or as one might say, "light on the flava", which seems to be the trade off to have a decently cooked pizza. They're alright, my kid likes them because he likes "crunchy" foods and this pizza does have a crunch to it. It's definitely not winning any flavor awards, but "cooked well" awards, its up there for frozen pizza. I'd say a walmart brand frozen pizza has more flavor.

I love Portnoy’s pizza content, though I find the bar stool sports brand to be a bit cringe and annoying. We were at Walmart, saw it and HAD to try it once. I don’t think it’s trash or anything but there are much better frozen pizzas out there. There’s nothing special about it other than it kind of looks like one of Dave’s beloved New Haven pizzas….or Freddy Krueger’s face. Thanks for watching completely other dude 😜

@@creativecatproductions Went to the store today, and took a closer look. I saw the Pizza for 7.99. I thought about trying it, but decided to respect the review, and I opted for the 4 for $5, 3 minute microwave pizzas that I used to eat when I was a kid. Imma have one (or 2) for lunch tomorrow.

@@creativecatproductions after cooking my chicken badly, I didn't want to eat it for dinner anymore, so I found myself at the store in the frozen pizza aisle. I saw the one Bite was on sale fro 6.99 I got the cheese one. (Thinking it looks the same size as all the others, we will see how small it is when I take it out of the box) I see that it is the same thickness, and diameter of other frozen pizzas I have had. I also noticed it didn't come on a cardboard like yours did. I rewatch the video as it cooks. You are eating 5 cheese original crust 13.8 oz. The images of the 4 flavors I noticed that the 5 cheese isnt the one you have, rather the one I have. (5 cheese stone baked crust) 20.11 oz. Part of my pizza is burnt. (found myself at the grocery store on the far end of town, so it was in my trunk for 30 minutes, rather than straight from the freezer.) Most of the pizza has a really good cheese taste besides the burnt parts. I will have to try this again, and pop it in the oven straight from the freezer to avoid the burnt part to see if it is better. Never been a fan of high rating systems. I think 5 should be average, rather than the usual 7, people use. So my rating would be 5.5, (which is good) if I use the scale most other people use, Then I give it a 7.2
@creativecatproductions
@creativecatproductions Жыл бұрын
My rating system for everything is like 5 points, but for the video I went with Portnoy’s impossible 10 point scale with decimals. He only gives 7’s or higher to very good pizza, almost never a 9, and he stopped giving 10s years ago. 6 is like, not bad, but not good, and 5 is meh. Anything below that is like trash for him. But because he’s sort of forced to hit all the best pizzerias in every city he visits, he no longer gives a lot of low scores. It’s all in the 7s these days. For me a 1 is bad “avoid like a disease” 2 is average, but I neither like it or recommend it 3 is average, and I kind of like it, even if in good conscience I can’t recommend it to anyone 4 is good, and I highly recommend it 5 is amazing you have to have it.

I hate most Frozen pizza. The pizza from schwan's is pretty damn good. But it should be for as much as they charge. Also since you have a family. Those pizzas from 7-Eleven are good. Make sure they cook you one up fresh for about 10 bucks, you get eight pieces huge Pizza not not bad. And after you're done, I will give you a lip tour and send you to the doctor for an angioplasty. Thanks for the review. I would never buy anything like that you save me eight bucks. Thanks.

I would actually love to do that topic! I’ve especially always wanted to cover the 3D Wrestling games on the N64 since they have interesting Japanese origins and were, in my opinion, the best wrestling games ever made. Currently we have plans to do a huge video covering the best Sega Master system games and a few TurboGrafx-16 games, but this is a great idea. Thanks for watching dude! 😎

I’ve never gotten the chance to watch it much though I’ve long admired it from a distance. I’m aware of a lot of top tier indie style talent that’s come from there. They remind me of Japanese wrestling promotions in the best way!

@@creativecatproductions Don't you wish wrestling promotions still stuck to kayfabe in spite of the '96 "curtain call"?

I really do actually! I think from the NWO storyline going forward wrestling promoters got way too caught up in “shoots” and “pipe bombs” and meta references to the fact that what we’re watching is a performance and not an actual contest…..and its stripped the fun out of the matches themselves, which were always most fun as purported contests, with real stakes and actual winners. I really liked how WCW did things best in the mid to late 90s. They had such a strong midcard and it was blast to watch stuff like Benoit and Booker Ts best of 7 series, or DDP almost beating Goldberg (which should have happened), or any match with Jericho, or Fit Finlay. The WWF had a solid roster too, especially when Bret Hart and Owen Hart were still around, but I hated their ridiculous storylines. The undertaker is undoubtedly a great wrestler, but his stupid supernatural storylines were just so awful to me 😝 And I never liked Stone Cold. I just didn’t.

I have a local pizza place in NJ which is mediocre IMO but one day I see Portnoy's face plastered all over the business. I searched YT to see what the big deal was about and he gave them an 8.9. I get a pie and it’s still mediocre, lol. Load of shit IMO.

That’s hilarious! Yeah Dave seems to have a soft spot in his heart for the old school, hole in the wall family run pizzerias in places like New Jersey. Every time I see these places, to me, they look pretty basic. Maybe even kind of lackluster. But he goes crazy for it. I think he’s sincere, but he’s got an idiosyncratic idea about what constitutes good pizza and it ain’t mine. He seems to really dislike Neapolitan style pizza, which is what most foodie types tend to regard as the best these days. And he loves New Haven style, which to me, just seems burned and crisped to the point of being ruined. He basically likes matzah with tomato sauce and a little cheese. It’s just one man’s wild, adderall fueled opinion. But boy to people love it. Thanks for watching dude! 😎

It makes sense considering Daves own back story (nobody to multi-millionaire [rags to riches]). I think this is a way he can give back and help the "little guy" small business owner. I agree, it certainly seems hes over rated several places in his time. I mean, there are videos where hes given a rating, and forget while talking and gave it another rating, which shows how subjective and off the cuff the ratings truly are. He's just enjoying himself, making bank off the videos, and meeting people, while havin the potential to help struggling or new pizza places. People trust dave, so...
@dvessel
@dvessel Жыл бұрын
@@user-sl4ul4nc3t Yeah, perhaps I was being too harsh. The place wasn’t a hole in the wall. It’s in a nice building and they are well established but it was near the tail end of the pandemic lockdown and the worker was crying over the rating. It was extremely hard on everyone so I’m glad it helped them out.

I know! They all really do say that. Obviously it will give you more crisp but what a mess! Looks like zero effort in creating this pizza concept. Just a name cash grab, phoned it in to happifoodi, and continue on funding his lifestyle. If he truly loved pizza so much, I think he'd do a much much better job in making his own signature style. Reminds me of some KZbin "authors," that get a book deal and scribble aimless rambling thoughts on paper.... all because they have at least 2 million subscribers.
@creativecatproductions
@creativecatproductions Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I think that’s a fair assessment of what this is…it’s a basic cash grab sort of thing. It’s not terrible frozen pizza, but for the price? You can do way better. Pretty much any of the regular frozen pizza brands are just as good or better. I get the feeling happi foodi is striving for something special here? But it’s hard to overcome the flavor of flash frozen cheese and cardboard. Dave recently sold Bar Stool sports for like over $300 million. Who knows what his next move will be? Probably it’ll be on some 23 year old drunk chick in Miami. One Night, everybody knows the rules…. Thanks for watching dude! 😎
