My uncle had the same model International he bought second hand at auction in the early 60s. It had a van body on it that he removed and set it in yard of his shop to be converted into an office for his book keeper. He mounted a hydraulic crane and a old Lincoln arc welder on the frame. Uncle George did a lot of ornamental iron and some structural steel work in the west Los Angeles area. I worked for him on my summer vacations, starting when I was 12, to the time I started college. He was a great guy and my mothers favorite brother. When we worked together he would tell stories of his time in the army. He saw his first combat in North Africa. After Africa he ended up in Sisley and then up the boot of Italy into France and Germany. With all that weight on it hat old International it would top out at about 35mph. We did a valve job on it and picked up another 6 mph. Great memories and I was a lucky kid to have him and a great dad in my life.

Enjoying your stuff! We did everything you could possibly do back in the ‘70s in Indiana. Not much modification. Tires, lift kits, etc. I had a ‘76 and a ‘77 FJ 40. We trashed them at the many coal strip mines. We rolled them, flipped them, buried them in mud holes, etc. Lots of tugging’ and winchin’! We didn’t photograph much, as we simply didn’t care. We used our ONLY means of transportation to trash whenever we could. I totaled the ‘76, rebuilt it, heavily modified.. Won 3rd in the Vigo County tractor pull, modified.. Keep up your great work. Heading back out there to play in the Manti-La Sal in October. Bringing the inflatable to cruise my favorite Lake Powell, hopefully not the last.. We’ll give ya a hoot. After 100 miles I recommend re-tourqing those bolts. A true work or art! She is beautiful! So awesome! I hope I can get unstuck by Matt’s team one day. Not really but love the channel! My home state of Utah. 4 corners. Such a pretty part of the country. Amazing teams! No better partner than Heavy D! Amazing people! Keep it up Matt!

This is one of the reasons I’m trying to get into a mechanical trade, just looking for someone to give me a shot but it blew me away to see how it’s gone from a dream to a 4x4 I didn’t think the ordinary joe blow could do such things very inspirational guys

If you don’t watch westen champlin channel you should. He is a regular joe blow that builds some awesome things.

Don't wait around waiting for a chance, go do something! Build up your skill sets and tool box by fixing stuff. Even if it's flipping lawn tractors, utility or equipment trailers. Move up on the complexity of projects as your budget and knowledge base grows. Don't know how to weld, paint, pull bearings, rebuild an engine? Ask around for someone to help you. Or even check KZbin! Build up your mechanical common sense. When you find someone who is willing to teach you something, find a way to pay him back. Sweep the floors, wash parts or a truck. Do some sandblasting, whatever they want you to do. When they see how hungry you are, the more generous they become. Education and knowledge is expensive. See sweat equity as your tuition. When you hit a roadblock, ask questions from friends, auto part stores etc. get your face and name out there. You never know who's watching.

Your comment says "8 hours ago" and it's 94k now. "567,010 views" and "2,907 Comments" Nugget saga is finally over, are they gonna make Ed start a channel? lol

Man! That thing is really coming together! Freakin insane! Definitely the coolest build I have ever been a part of. Yeah... I feel like I am a part of it. Been keeping up with it since it was two huge rails on the floor. Living your best life. I am envious no doubt.

It’s amazing how badass this thing is turning out. And how much of an animal it’s going to be. Even with all of the eye squint measuring and all the “ehhhh that’s close enoughs”

In Finland the offroad enthusiast have the "sodacan standard". We want to see how many sodacans can you stack under the rockers (and axles). It gives some perspective. Cool build .

that boom chain looks really close to the boom itself, im sure you guys have thought of it already but the torque multiplication with the chain that close is gonna be insane.
@RambozoClown2 жыл бұрын
Those chains were temporary just to hold the boom up. It will be later fitted with a winch or hydraulic actuator.
