for the battery location, I'd recommend doing a remote Pos and Neg terminal to allow for jumping other vehicles on the trail, either on the back of the rig or under the hood, and it make it easier should the wrecker batteries die to be jumped. BMW, Mercedes and Audi might all have examples of remote battery terminals you can bolt up somewhere.
@wiresmith23982 жыл бұрын
a little prep would make that easy - front and rear high gauge battery jumpers to Anderson power pole connectors, and a Anderson jumper cable behind the seat, sorted. Probably put a disconnect on those cables just in case.

Not all the time, the only time I've gotten the weight on the invoice is when ordering rough parts for machining or when it's in cdl load territory. As a fan of your rescue recovery. U-Tube, you can't afford to get yourself injured especially with young kids in your stable. Being knocked out in a crash is not enough of a sign that you can hurt yourself. You have to stay healthy and an example to all young kids. Be Safe ! 👍

I love your videos! Especially the builds! I came and subbed because I love offroad and watching your recoveries. I have come to appreciate the build videos even more. I am dumbfounded by all the people with the I-know-better attitude. Your work speaks for it self. Keep it coming!! This is all awesome! Enjoying this from Dombås in Norway today. :)

There's a big,ugly and heavy recovery truck operating out of Birdsville in Australia , it's dragging it's bulk over pretty gnarly desert and dunes. Weight isn't always such a problem especially when you're running big bagged out tyres. Gearing will decide ultimate pulling power won't it?
@TheBandit76132 жыл бұрын
Yes and no. Rock crawling is gearing. Sand dunes require horsepower and flotation. Flotation alone won't do it, horsepower alone won't do it. I'm talking about steep tall dunes.

I like that Lizzy isn't into all the main stream BS. It means that she is more intelligent and down to earth than most other people that choose to waste their time on nonsense pursuits. You can tell that by the fact that she is working with you and learning skills that not just most women but most people don't have either the intelligence or motivation to learn. Good for you Lizzy!!!

I wouldn't be worried. These are the kinda guys that are happiest in the saddle living life to the fullest, and they'd rather die happy with their boots on. Some people would live longer if they worked less, other people would die sooner if they didn't work all the time.

I used to do mechanical repairs on a cat scraper fleet in Australia, driving around in a Brazil built f250 with a diesel 6 cylinder it was overloaded and weighed over 5 tons . Running 265/75-16 tyres , if I let the rear tyres down to 30psi it looked like 5 psi , and I was amazed that could drive over and around some pretty soft areas in just 2wd . Don’t think your going to have any dramas , can’t wait for the finish ,

catching up again. Interesting comments about weight, and engine. I have seen a tractor pull rig with 5 V8's moved with a 4.5 Hp Briggs and Stratton motor, no problem. Its all in the gearing.
@Black3ternity2 жыл бұрын
As always a great video. I think the many comments about weight and build quality / structural integrity just come from people that watch a youtube video where it "feels" like you just slap stuff together until it "looks cool". You don't show the "serious business" and behind the scenes where you calculate that stuff and make a scientific video for it. You make a fun to watch and enjoyable video that we all can like without being numbed in the brain by dry calculations and math. I appreciate that and I can't wait for the epic video when this thing will run through the sand together with the Morrvair.
