4 cups bread flour (480g) 3 Tbsp sugar 2 tsp instant yeast 1 ½ tsp salt 1 (15.5 oz) can canned chickpeas, or about 1 ½ cup of cooked chickpeas 1 cup water , best if warm NO added oils

I have made many of your recipe suggestions. This one was and is AMAZING. Mine is in the oven RIGHT NOW! I am amazed about how GOOD this bread looks!! I did'nt know it can rise so well even with so many chickpeas in it! BUT who on earth doesn't like the heel of the bread?! That's the best part hahaha!

Start with 50/50 white flour and wheat flour and see how it goes. Sometimes this is perfect so always keep in mind that the w/w flour will make a much denser bread unless you add extras like yeast, etc. After that trial run then try all w/w and see what you get. BTW, should be plenty of gluten in the w/w flour so no need to add any extra.

@ To use "bread flour" is not part of a whole foods dietary regimen. Once the bran and germ have been stripped, it is not very healthy. More like Wonder Bread where one wonders why we are gaining so much weight. hahaha

Yeah the less water you have in the end the better. After you cook the chickpeas have you tried reducing the liquid down by about half slowly?

I'm going to try. I'll blend the chickpeas and use the proportion relative to the flour amount for a two pound loaf in my machine.

I haven’t tried it but from what I know about a bread machine my best guess is it would work. The only thing I might suggest would be to mash the chickpeas a bit first to give them a start because I don’t know how long or rough the kneading is.

It was very sticky & the kitchen aid just spread it out against the side of the bowl so I did have to kneed by hand a bit. First rise went well (doubled as it was supposed to) but the second, not so much, gave it an extra hour & nothing. It started to dry out so I figured I’d just go ahead and bake it, and it’s not really edible, it’s far too dense & chewy. The only difference was the GF bread flour & I used instant yeast.

You forgot to add black pepper to both sides of the sandwich before adding the tomato. I usually thin-slice the tomato and layer the entire tomato onto the sandwich (a beefsteak might be too much to do that with, but a Roma or smaller variety is perfect). Tastes best if the tomato is fresh from the garden.

This might be good for me. I eat too much bread and when I don’t have beans ready. I tend to overeat on bread. So if they are combined. Maybe I can maintain a more normal portion size. I have problems sometimes maintaining my blood sugar due to PCOS. I don’t have diabetes tho. Which is good.

In baking percentages: 50% water 8% sugar 1.5% yeast 50% chickpeas You didn't give a salt measurement, but it looked like about 1/2t-3/4t, so 0.75%-1%?
