Is it possible to use a keto flour with the sweet potato?
@Miranda_andariM4 күн бұрын
Steamed buns (Asian) would be gluten free 😊 These look tasty though. Ever tried using Cannellini beans to replace third to half of the flour in bread? You cannot taste them, but they fill you up.

To make low-oxalate bread, substitute einkorn flour for the modern wheat and pumpkin for sweet potato.

@KarenAlexandrite-aka-PinkRose4 күн бұрын
Ooh, how do you make them?
@hopeheavenonplanetearth14174 күн бұрын
@ Boil your sweet potato(es). Mash. Add a little olive oil and flour until it is a workable texture to make balls. I use two pizza round silicon mats so the tortilla won’t stick. Put a cutting board on top and press until it is thin, but not too thin to fall apart when taking off the mat onto the heated pan. Keep twisting and turning like a flour tortilla until it starts to brown. PS. I add cinnamon and other seasonings, too! They are definitely worth making several at a time. I eat them for days… This week I made Japanese purple potato tortillas. 👍

We could do this in the stand mixer right?
@LimeTreePrickly3 күн бұрын
If you put a normal potato into the stand mixer it will get a gum like texture... thats why you dont make mashed potatoes in a stand mixer as well. i would assume its similar with sweet potatoes.

He's a long distance runner so needs more salt than others. I would reduce the salt to 1/2 to 1/4 a teaspoon maybe 1 teaspoon to taste.

Why do you use baking powder in your recipe? If you use yeast shouldn’t that be enough for the rise of the bread? Not a criticism, just a question.
@SauceStache3 күн бұрын
Just makes it a lot quicker and the dough a lot fluffier!! You can totally skip the baking powder, but I would let it rise more and be a bit more careful on the rise.

Please start cooking gluten free too. It's healthier and where cooking gets hardest specially as a vegan It's also vital to inclusive food
@joelamaro45254 күн бұрын
Gluten free isnt any healthier for you unless the person eating it has celiac disease or has a gluten sensitivity. In order to make this gluten free just use gluten free flour.
@IrnBruNYC4 күн бұрын
A very small percentage of people actually have celiac disease or gluten sensitivity. The rest of us want to enjoy our baked goods. Being vegan is hard enough without adding on additional rules that serve no useful purpose. Sauce Stache probably only wants to make content involving food he actually wants to eat, which is understandable.
@joelamaro45254 күн бұрын
@ exactly. I’m not vegan or even vegetarian. But I like good food. If it happens to be vegan or vegetarian then great. Hell, if it happens to be gluten free then great. But I’m not going to add unnecessary steps when I don’t need to. I’ve git about 6 different kinds of flour in the pantry. I’m not going to go out and by a gluten free one that I will never use.
@crystald3655Күн бұрын
Gluten-free just restricts people unnecessarily when chosen. It has no additional health benefits what so ever and some people even get malnourished as pretty much everything has wheat or other gluten containing foods in it.

Okay, @SauceStache, wtf is it with you and maple frakin' syrup? That shiz is Gnasty, but you put it in EVERYTHING savoury you do. I HATE it. Grandma used to put the pancakes on my plate before I had gotten to dip my bacon or sausage into my egg yolks, and she would DOUSE it with syrup, so I had rubber that tasted like maple syrup. The egg whites - maple syrup. Could not taste the bacon and egg yolks - maple syrup. Can you PLEASE do some kind of recipe that does *not* have that Gnastiness in it? Capital G necessary to add, and it is not silent.
