I use my old town big water in water like this a lot. I like the crescents, but my herniated disks do not. I use a stake out pole in water like this most of the time. Anchors are a bad idea, but my pole through a scupper. Normally I try to stake out in an pool past the shoals. - maybe I can find a Jackson or something thing else that’ll be more comfortable that’s not the bigwater.

Great info! I just switched to the Shoalie from a FeelFree Lure 11.5. The Shoalie handles the river SO much better, and I appreciate all the thought put into it!

The shoalie is great on moving water...that's why I got one...been canoeing and kayaking for 30 years...I have fished water like this before...but hugging the bank or an eddy pool...I can't believe you went into the middle of that to fish a centrally located spot...I would never do that...too much pucker factor.!!!

How do you deal with a shark out there. Just went salt water estuary kayaking yesterday. Saw manatees and that scared me because it came up and breathed right next to me. What do i do what i see a bull shark. Or one attacks me or my kayak.
