Was at the San Antonio Airport to pick up some family who were flying in , a crowd had gathered with a banner saying “Welcome Home Champ !”, Robert stepped off the plane wearing his newly won championship belt and some dark aviator sunglasses when he acknowledged his fans and took the sunglasses off both his eyes were dark black and almost on full shut down!! He won that title the hard way , although we were from the same neighborhood I did not know him but later he befriended me and he was and always will be considered one of my best friends! RIP Robert

Seeing this remember the day hearing he won the title was like a crazy kid a fellow san Antonian winning it and bringing it home .I played ball with Joe's Daughter Tina she could play ball ...
