honestly I think the code here is done. SR is ignored here and the comp is a flop. We field one good side, the Brumbies and thats it. We are picking a national side from a small selection of players. League will dominate even more now, as it spreading to the Pasific Islands too now and there is talk of including them as teams in the NRL. I dont think we will ever have a national side as good as the old days. Think its really shot which is sad.

Context needed here. This is the worst period of Australian rugby there has ever been. The teams of Eales and Horan, etc, etc, would WIPE the floor with this current team. The Dutch are the tallest on earth (or close to) and South African Dutchmen from farm stock are fucking giants. I'm from SA and of Dutch, German, and Scottish stock and I'm about the size of a typical 15-year-old from some of these areas. I'm 5'11, 78kg, and in tip-top shape for a 38-year-old. Random anecdote: I once visited a farm town in the Northern Cape and stayed at a bedsit overnight when en route to the Kalahari desert. The woman who owned the place must have been about 55 but she was 6'3 and had hands the size of frying pans 😂Excellent cook, too.
