Along with My Wife Heather and our silly Dog Bella we escape Alone deep into the Canadian wilderness as one on an epic camping journey in E2 episode 2. Travelling as a Couple is amazing when we can share our passions for the outdoors together. Of course our Dog Bella is all for it. We often like tripping in this manner and this trip takes place in Lady Evelyn Smoothwater Provincial Park in Temagami Canada.

This escape had all the best elements of adventure. Hard work Unexpected injuries, good and bad weather, long days many miles travelled, fish caught, wild mushrooms cooked, amazing waterfalls swimming, epic camping campfires, campfire cooking, canoeing catch and cooking wild fish and all around fun.

It was an epic adventure down the Lady Evelyn river starting at Gamble lake over to Maple Mountain and finishing at Mowat Landing.

Poor you, I felt so sorry for you. No help from that wife, not even helping to get wood or help carry so you didn't need to keep walking to and fro so much. Nope she just carried her pack, unrolled the mats and sleeping bags, did all the bloody food reviews and talking about what she's making to eat which wasn't often and having her photo taken millions of times at sights and sat!. You did all the hardwork, double portage, carrying EVERYTHING else, roaping the boat, dragging the boat, cut wood, carry wood, get kindling and carrying it, made fire, get water, make drinks and food, help setup tent and tarp, take them down and store and the list goes on. One would think she'd at least help a little seeing you're in pain and limping. Surely she knows how to get kindling and can cut wood? Same with taking the tent down and stuffing it in its bag? What about making a fire? You put so much into your trips and you always do what she wants even if it means missing out on something special. Is she just so selfish and lazy? Poor Bella tried to support you so much and was always there with you. What a great dog. She deserves regular treats on your trips. Suggestion with Bella- feed her when you're eating that way she doesn't feel left out and don't beg for bites. Another thing- always keep a roll of medical strapping on with you. Strapping a broken or injured toes together helps for pain, support and healing. Luckily you had your foot regularly in cold water which helped with swelling and pain relief. Thanks for sharing so many beautiful sights and teaching us to be resilient, strong and to overcome no matter what or whom. Big hugs

Well ted it’s been about 55 years that I was last on lady Evelyn and maple mountain .. my father was one of the people who protested against outfitters wanting to build a tourist resort on maple mountain as you can see today he won his case .. I spent 15 years of my summer life on a lake very close to lady Evelyn .. my brother still owns the old camp which is still standing after about 60 years .. I remember peeling the logs for the camp I was about 7 .. if ever you see oak trees they were planted by my father as there was no oak back in that area he planted about 200 .. we travelled to camp by an old freighter canoe mom dad and six kids .. we got in on the Montreal river .. now a days .. my brother starts off from the elk lake area .. I have wonderful memories 70 years later .. I loved ever min of your trip and will watch it several more times .. thank you for taking me back in time .. so very much appreciated❤️👍😊😘

Another fantastic video. The scenery here in Scotland is beautiful, but nothing like you have filmed, stunning landscapes, waterfalls, and lakes. Heather, you are a rock star, for the rapids paddling and for that climb, even in my youth, I would have had to think hard about that trek especially the height coming down the mountain.. I used to do a lot of activities when I was young, athletics, body building, martial arts etc and whenever there was an injury, (bruising, sprain, black eye for example) the first thing was a cold compress, so I think for the toe, you should have sat with your foot in the coldest water you could find Ted. That would have kept both the bruising and the swelling down. You'll know for the next time. Bella was adorable and mad, loved the video, thank you for sharing your travels with us.

This brought back memories, LOL! Paddling in the waves...done that more times... we lived on an island for a bit and traveling back and forth when not in a motor boat...were in canvas canoes back then. Yes keep that paddle in the water and don't let up going perpendicular to the waves as long as possible! What a GREAT trip! That area is so beautiful...Bella has such a great personality. At every turn in this incredible adventure you recorded is another breathtaking moment. The history you share as you go about is enlightening to creation itself that if one allows there mind to wander how the obstacles of the trappers and early settlers faced as they stood in awe of it all. The hike up and down Maple mountain was challenge of strength and courage with so many things to taste see or hear. The Beautiful forest is more so alive and pristine in the rain or after a good rain. At 61 and oh so many miles of hiking in Oregon Ive seen the most spectacular natural beauty imaginable in the rain I love waterfall but when you started hiking up the mountain was by far the best part of this video in my humble opinion good video what a great trip for you two two thumbs up

Canoeing in the B.W.C.A. one year we cleaned some fish away from our camp site out an island. Seagulls were having a feast until a Bald Eagle showed up. It was quite a sight. Thanks for sharing your adventures. Reminds me of my canoeing adventures. 👍

Haha not really. But I dont use 240 fps anymore because it froze a few times audio worked but video no good. The camera does occasionally freeze. I just take battery out if no buttons work and it solves it. Pretty good otherwise. Some things that may help is not using after market batteries trying not to let them run too low while shooting and doing any software updates the cam may need. I think the last one may help u.......having said that I still use after market batteries and let them run low lol...cold weather after market batts r garbage however. Hope this helps
