He's a great FRONTMAN & a great WRITER of lyrics. (Er...that wud be ''Lyricist,'' val. DUH.) I always thot he & RATM were really good, but then never heard them playing on radio - at least Primetime radio. How come? Finally it dawned on me. (Another DUH.) The Establishment wud say that it's because the lyrics contain too much swearing - y'know, for PTA moms & for right-wing radicals* & all around God-fearing Christians. (Guess they'd all melt.) I dun believe that. Zack & RATM & prob Michael Moore - are Anarchists. THEY dun keep quiet or back down. Or censor their words for that matter. And RATM has a huge following. Thus they are considered DANGEROUS - particularly to politicians like Trumpty Dumpty. Hey, can u imagine RATM music playing on Stadium speakers while we're outside in the streets protesting the horrific MURDER of George Floyd?! It wud tip the crowd in ANY CITY - making the situation more wild, more DANGEROUS, more out of control. And whereas I dun think RATM is advocating violent protest, in many cities it has started already. All the unfairness between the rich vs poor; the systematic GENOCIDE of Native Americans; overt discrimination toward women & or people who dun happen to be White; unjustified wage differences; overt poverty; and so so much more - this mass frustration has reached the TIPPING POINT. It can easily change a peaceful protest into a violent encounter.
