I truly learned the lesson. You never know what someone is going through. You have to be prayerful and mindful of everyone. I love you Vesta and I miss you.

Vesta Wiliams was hot back in the late 80's I supported her from the beginning of her music career. She just wasnt given the proper promotion when Everything and More was released. A and M decided to focus on other others because of her weight gain. Please keep my girls legacy alive and purchase the last CD she gave us Seven. She ws so happy when she made it. Go to Itunes and purchase Seven. Silly is the jam.

This so beautifully performed, if Vesta was given more exposure and toured and her songs put on the on the air waves I guess but listening to her she has for chops to sell music she needed to be here to fulfill her dreams and her marriage like she so much wanted to I just met her and love her music.

This is so well said after the industry have used your God given talent it is like they banish you into nonexistent, it is like you an expiration time in music and after that if you are not financially stable you are forgotten and no application shown for the artist RIH with all the greats my dear Vesta you were such a humbled sweet in nature person.

the chord changes and the basic melody of this song, is just bananas...the hair on my arms, stand up when, she goes into "what more can your love do for me?....when...will..love...be through with me?". Joe Sample's legacy is massive. But this song, might be remembered longer, than he will be. its THAT good.

The Unsung program from T.V.One interviewed people and they said it wasn't a issue of her work ethics, she was on time, ready to go. It was the issue of her severe weight gain after 1989. With the addition of the new jack swing era coming in, she didn't fix A&M's image. People like Vesta, Angela Winbush, and Miki Howard should have been bigger stars, but in Vesta case, A&M would not allow her to cross over into the POP Music Division side. That was bought out too !!!

Perry Saunders you’re right I Just wish she and others got the opportunity to be as big as others especially with such a big phenomenal voice like hers she deserved her flowers and more.
@TheKoolkanadian6 жыл бұрын
Perry Saunders More to it, always. The labels have promotional money and the bigger acts or those with the last hits are usually the ones who get the cash. That would be Janet Jackson and others at A&M. Those who break through are usually the ones who some one individual gets behind and takes a chance on, supports;sometimes with their own money. The true stars with real voices and ageless talent rarely make it through. Always a handful of them but then so many more have to struggle and not even are known by the people who know who Aretha and Janet Jackson, Anita Baker are. Sometimes the great ones get a couple of hits the. Get left behind because of the business aspect. Ella Fitzgerald’s or Aretha’s weight never stopped them but the biz was more about actual talent, vocals in days gone by. We will have to bring about the change back as music consumers ourselves if we want quality music vs auto tuned sound a-likes and the ever growing weak ass rap.
@jerramaurice78362 жыл бұрын
Plus she has an outstanding voice that nearly out did Whitney Houston and she should’ve been gotten the same amount of credit that Whitney did or even like Aretha for that matter
@melregissings Жыл бұрын
@@jerramaurice7836 SOrry but no one was touching WHitney Houston at that time. Vesta was great, but she made her debut a bit too late. SHe also sounded a lot like CHaka Khan, and people couldn't tell the difference between the two. She would have had more success if she had come out in the early 80's, but then again she would probably still be in CHaka's shadow since she sounded so much like her.

Wow I have never heard her singing as a lead singer other than in her albums. She sings great. The equalizing is not very good in some places: the orchestra is too loud, still I am very glad to listen to her. Thank you for uploading.

Don't get it twisted.... there is a MASTER and then there is the pupil. NO ONE can touch Chaka... but I think Chaka herself would tell you that NO ONE comes closest to sounding like her EXCEPT for Vesta. Vesta needs to stopping joking with her covers cd and get the right material and producers and she would all over the airwaves.
