@CarlHancock4 жыл бұрын
It's actually the dry season here. But a lot of areas get rain year round. Some places have a wet season and a wetter season. Where I live on the coast of Guanacaste we have a real dry season and likely won't see significant rain until after April. We can go weeks at a time without a cloud during dry season. Meanwhile on the Caribbean side they could be dealing with flooding.
@normanlee314 жыл бұрын
Really seriously considering a trip to CR in the next year! When, in your opinion, us the overall best month to visit?
@CarlHancock4 жыл бұрын
@@normanlee31 It really depends on where you are going to go. Even though it's a small country the weather is very diverse depending on location. You can have a good time here year round. The beaches of Guanacaste (Tamarindo, etc.) see nothing but sunshine from December-April but you can drive 3 hours to La Fortuna where Gabriel is and you could get rain. And on the Caribbean side you are even more likely to get rain. May can be a good month. You get the tail end of dry season but aren't yet in the middle of rainy season.
@tigrotom73124 жыл бұрын
@@CarlHancock This is interesting. Such a small country and such varied climates. Still beats having to deal with winter in NJ.
@CarlHancock4 жыл бұрын
@@tigrotom7312 Indeed. In my area of the Northern Pacific coast of Guanacaste during the dry season it is like being in Southern California. Hot and dry. During the rainy season it's like being in Florida. Hot, humid and wet. Meanwhile during our dry season it's lush and green in the Southern Pacific where it gets more rain during the dry season and on the Caribbean side where they pretty much have a green season and a greener season. Both sides are of course warms being in the tropics. Then in the Central Valley at higher elevations it is cooler. And surrounding the Central Valley you can have rainforests, cloud forests, volcanoes and mountains stretching the length of the country. You can wake up to the sunrise on the Caribbean and drive across the country and watch the sunset on the Pacific. It's an extremely diverse country for it's size with the different microclimates and biospheres. Beautiful place.

Thank you for these videos showing Costa Rica. It is good to see so much well-preserved natural places. But just one thing Gabriel...please be careful about entering jungles there too deeply, especially alone. It is best to go with a group of people and a guide. Maybe you have already been, I am not sure but if you are still considering then do not go alone. Not far from where you are now (if you are still in Costa Rica), near Boquete, Panama two Dutch girls Kris Kremers and Lisanne Froon lost their lives while going on a hike in the nearby jungle there. What those girls went through was absolutely horrific. And a lot more people have gone missing on that trail and on others there. The jungles in Latin American countries are not safe. Sadly most cases are never properly investigated and these tragedies keep on happening.
