Just like Macau, Hong Kong is a city in China that attracted lots of tourists in the past. At present, Hong Kong is not safe to travel to. Recently, there have been too many violent protests in Hong Kong. Tourists are not recommended to stay in Hong Kong. I personally recommend transiting through Hong Kong to Shenzhen, Zhuhai and Guangzhou - to Shenzhen by the Shenzhen Bay Bridge, which is part of Asian Highway 1, and Zhuhai (also a city in Guangdong province) or Macau by the relatively new Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge.

Hi Phil! If you can fit it into your schedule, I would definitely recommend heading over to Hong Kong for a day or two :) although there are some similarities, you will find Hong Kong to be a little more vibrant with more things to see than Macau. Times Square, Bargain Street, the Peak Tram, Tian Tan Buddha, Lan Kwai Fong, Ocean Park, are just a few things I would suggest doing a little research on (some of them aren't covered in my YT channel, yet!) Hi Jane! Macau is fairly easy to walk around if you are planning to head towards the main tourist attractions (i.e. Ruins of St. Paul), otherwise transportation via bus is also fairly simple as it is not that big. If you are stuck with where you are and where to go, most casinos in Macau have shuttles that will take you to the ferry for free (you just have to ask around when you are at the casino) if you are going from Hong Kong to Macau via the ferry of course. Hi! The ride itself wasn't very long at all, I'd say 10 minutes-ish? If you've gone to Universal Studios or Disneyland this ride might not be the most exciting but if you have younger children they will definitely enjoy it.

Hi there, sorry I've never gone to Macau from HKG directly so I wouldn't know the answer to that, and I wouldn't know of any restrictions either. Best to ask when booking your flight and maybe Googling the right people to contact for immigration restrictions!
