I remenber my first trip to Europe (England) and I got really depressed because I started feeling my family where trapped in my camera and I felt bad, as just wanting them out to watch all for thenselves, any advise to cope with such thing as ¨traveler melancholy¨ ?

Hey Gabriel, I'm traveling to Spain next week to explore throughout Europe for like 80 days before I go to London for a few weeks and then back home to the US after that. I don't need a visa because I'm within the 90 day window I just need my passport, but I don't really have a good "purpose of traveling". I'm afraid they will ask why I'm going & my only reason is to create videos for KZbin... I can't say "vacation" because an 80 day vacation sounds weird. I am also staying with my friend who is studying abroad and I read that sometimes it is looked down upon to say you're staying with someone... idk? What would you say if you were in my situation? I don't want them to tell me I can't go.

Hey Zach, that shouldn't be a problem at all. I've never been questioned by border agents in Europe as to why I'm entering. It's a completely normal thing to spend a couple months traveling around Europe. As long as your passport is valid (make sure it has at least 6 months validity from the date you enter the E.U.) then you're good to go, no worries. If you do happen to get asked, just tell them you're backpacking around Europe. If they inquire further, then mentioning youtube and staying with your friend shouldn't be a problem anyway. But you shouldn't have any real issues getting into Europe.

Don't you worry about it, europe is pretty smooth about it, and you're not the only one traveling around europe for a few months, it s a really common thing. Basically everywhere in the world as long as you have a valid passport and you stay within the days allowed by your passport in that specific country, there's no problem :) a few days ago I was travelling from Peru to Mexico and the airline company almost didn't allow me to get on the plane cause I didnt have a plane ticket to get outta Mexico, so I was kind of scared about going through immigration and everything eventhough I have a 6months stay allowed by my passport, but the guy asked me why I came, and for how long, and I just said that I was here for tourism purpose for maximum 2months and half, maybe less, and entered with no problem :)

It shouldn't be a problem, you are just used to how un necicerely strict America is about 'Border Protection' the EU and its member states do have different laws on immigration but they aren't as bad as in America, i'm an EU Citizen and an Irish Citizen (Ireland is a member state of the European Union, my family have a holiday home in Golf Del Sur in Tenerife South

Strange. Hostal means for me local hotels. Not necesairly dorms rooms. Anyway, Canary seems more difficult to find good deals than Greece. And maybe this year is particulary cold but it doesn, t seem to be a warm place to spend winter playing in the water and the sand.

Yes, it is a little chilly in the winter. I don't think I ever took a swim when I was there, come to think of it. You could swim but it's not like you're dying to get in the water because it's hot.

Seems to be an issue with the sound and film synching in this video. Sometimes there was no vocal sound in conjunction with your lip movements, time lags between commentary and action, etc. It reminded me of a poorly dubbed European film from the seventies ;)

Hey, that was probably a temporary issue because I did some editing of the video after I had posted it. It's kind of a youtube glitch. They shouldn't apply the edits until it's fully processed, but seems that there's a short period where the video and audio don't match up. What I did was trimmed out some tiny bits of the video to make it move along a little bit quicker. And so there can be a little while in which it's playing the shorter version of the video, but the old audio so it doesn't match. Give it a try again, I'd be curious to hear from your end if the issue is now resolved.

No, I have T-Mobile and they have pretty good global coverage. I get 1 gb of free data, free texts and pretty cheap calling. The only place I didn't have any cell service so far was Morocco.

Tenerife is NOT a rip-off like Paris, Venice and Rome.

There is that cloud cover in the north, 800 - 1200 metres, above that it is warmer. in between snow in winter 1000 metres rare but true, Teide of course = snow. the lowest temperature in January 9 degrees only at night in Puerto de la Cruz, sporadically. or 18 degrees 31 december at night possible too.

Tenerife island is more in the west in the Atlantic with the highest mountain where it gets cooler/cloudier.
