Oh god... You really don't get the joke, do you? The clue is in the theme tune. He's stuck. That's not a good way to be. He's a joke, a dinosaur, he can't adapt.

Loved this back in the 90s. I think it's one of the best British sitcoms ever, but it's not repeated much at all these days. 30 years ago it was a big show, and everyone knew the catchphrase. But now if you said 'I don't BELIEVE it' to most people under 35 I bet they wouldn't get the reference. Sad how good shows just fade to the distance in time.

What a gem of show this was...brilliantly scripted - mainstream, but slyly (and hilariously) subversive - and of course, memorably.. perfectly performed.... the saddest thing about current/modern UK television is the demise of comedy..particularly the sitcom - which has all but vanished as a popular genre....One Foot In The Grave shows how it should be done..and stands as one of the greats of all time

I love this show, so much. Absolutely adore it. Have the whole series on DVD. Have watched it over & over. The two main leads/actors were wonderful. So good. So believable as a married couple. Sad to hear the actress who played Mrs Warboys has passed away. She played the part so well. May she RIP. ♥️

The first time I saw One Foot was late on sunday evening, I couldn't sleep or find anything on network TV but I did see the listing for this coupled with Waiting For God. My first thought was that these 2 shows were a religious " sign-off " to the weekend, I had absolutely no idea that Waiting and One Foot were sitcoms. Yes, the writing and acting is 1st rate and still holds up today in my view. Favorite scene or episode? Impossible to choose. The first episode I saw was: In Luton Airport No One Can Hear You Scream, probably the very best intro to the series. Eventually managed to see the "final" episode too, I cried and laughed as the series finished on an absolutely perfect note. And yes, for several years I thought I was a cranky old man like Victor, but I have managed to outgrow that feeling.

Victor and Margaret had also remained childless (due to their son Stuart dying as a baby), neither smoked and they barely drank alcohol, and both had probably been working for around 30 years at the time series 1 was set in, probably amassing reasonably good savings, in an era was housing was rather more affordable than it is today, so they would have got on the property ladder without too much difficulty.

It's not a particularly affluent area nor a particularly large house (maybe by your standards it is?). It's clearly just typical Southern suburbia. It's the same kind of world as Terry and June. A place where respectable people try to live relatively orderly lives. Before people splurged their money on expensive items, eating out, and the like, it was possible to afford a decent house.
