I’m not a coach - I’m a broadcaster, but I love watching the videos that break down plays. It makes me a better broadcaster knowing how some of the plays are supposed to develop, what the QB’s reads are, etc. I don’t get that technical on a broadcast but having this kind of exposure to play calling is very helpful to what I do. Thank you for sharing your football knowledge - it is appreciated.

Love the video, we always read the end just keeps it easy for the qb. Out of dubs, we will belly motion with the slot and if the defense doesn’t react then the qb throws it. Similar to your fast motion, just coming from a different spot. My favorite is read the end, belly motion with the slot, snap the ball just before he gets to the qb, now if the qb get a pull read you have speed option with the slot receiver. It’s our version on the triple option

Love these plays, even opens the door to go trips with a seam route to bind the lb with riding the seam, and keeps the safety honest, meanwhile keeping all your rpo stuff the same.

Coach, You got it. You can tag any RPO to this run play. The only thing that limits you is your imagination.
@DHWTr3Y6 жыл бұрын
Good idea is during the rpo you displayed audible is making the r- wr motion in and tight to the formation near the TE/Y player and that forces defense to respect that motion and creates extra blocker for the run or throw to the fast/flash back on the motion swing route or motion pitch man.

Do you have a good video on how you prevent illegal men down field? Does the qb have an after the snap call? Or are you counting on the block on the linebacker happening within 2 yards of the line of Scrimmage? Thank you

Coach this is an excellent video thanks so much. I Coach youth football and wanted to implement a this RPO. We see a lot of 5-2 and 5-3 defense at our level. could you do a video to show how it would work with a five man front defense?
@CoachMcKie8 жыл бұрын
Coach, First thanks for watching my video. It means a lot. I can work on a video against a 5-2/5-3 defense. I'll add it to the list.

Coach, I understand your concepts with OLine play in RPO offense. Q: Why do you prefer to pull the center around to the playside LB instead of dbl-teaming the 1tech with the playside G & C to the playside LB?
@CoachMcKie7 жыл бұрын
Coach, Thanks for taking time out of your day to watch my video and leave a comment. That means a lot to me. That's how we block our inside zone. We pull the center sometimes because we want that linebacker to see a different blocking scheme. If we didn't pull the center then no one would be pulling, and that would mean we would be running our inside zone with a lock tag on the backside.
@jesseortega70387 жыл бұрын
Got it. Never thought about that...makes sense. Gonna look implement into our line-calls👍

Question: if you pull that center to that LB (who’s at 5yrds) and quarterback decide to pull it and hit the Y on the 4 route( or sitting in the zone). How is that not illegal man down field?

Or motion one of the Y/Te across for crack back block on run play can creat extra boost in yardage and cuts backs for QB OR RB’s.
@andrewclarke30447 жыл бұрын
Do you ever give a kick call and have the 2nd back kickout the defensive End. I really like power read out of Split Backs. F Can block force Defender. Unlike the 4 WR sets you get 2 lead blockers to the playside on power read.
@dustinmartin227 жыл бұрын
In middle school, we see: 5, 6, and even 7 man fronts sometimes... can power RPO still work against that many on the line? or do we just run Y Stick until they pull back off? Odd man fronts seem to give me more trouble with power blocking, and I'm trying to change a few things in the offseason.

If the LB is playing outside shoulder coverage against Y, do a lead zone read to Tailback and if the inside backer in the box over Tailback commits to the run...THROW TO Y on a quick slant.
@erickilpatrick52658 жыл бұрын
Watch for a zone read drop by the tackle or end against that RPO scheme I just mentioned.
@CoachMcKie8 жыл бұрын
That's not a bad play. I know Dana Holgorsen has run something similar to that play when he is in two backs. Really puts the stress on the inside linebacker.

Coach excellent work. I have a question. How do you the receivers know to either run a snag and an in routes for the RPO or block for the F-fast motion screen? I see you do it both ways. Is there a call to change the receiver routes?

This is predicated on 2 High which most teams we see will play 1 high with an extra player in the box…please show more 1 high and cover zero plays with a run concept! Thank you!

In the last one, do you find that even if you read the backer as just sitting there flat foot, which is a give read, he can still make the tackle?
@CoachMcKie7 жыл бұрын
Coach Liedy, Thank you for taking time out of your day to watch my video and leave a comment. It means a lot to me that you would do that. If that linebacker can make a tackle on my running back after being flat footed, then that guy is a D1 guy and I can't get mad.

All good but you’re asking a lot out young kids by asking a center to pull. Pull a guard. College and pro guys can but looking at your comments it’s a lot of guys who coach younger children.
@CoachMcKie6 жыл бұрын
I agree coach. We've been able to do it because we practice it every day. But of our kids don't get it then we modify another run to get the same result.

uhm....y is covered. he's inelligible. your initial Y spot route is ineligible downfield unless you go ahead and hand off. there is no RPO unless u want a flag.
@CoachMcKie7 жыл бұрын
Coach, Thanks for watching my video. It means a lot to me that you took time out of your day to do so. You are right about the diagram. The Hudl playbook app is a little tricky. The Y is always on and the R should be off.

10-4! - L should be on then and R off. :) or you're missing the obvious tackle eligible. lol
