I really like what you Do with guitars as much as it's about accessing micro tones a large part is how modular you seem To be making it some times

@@maniswolftoman Yes normal frets limit the frequencies that you can produce, they are all equally spaced so if one sounds decent they all do but none is perfect. In a fretless instrument it's doable in slow songs specially if only playing one note at a time (bass, violin, cello, etc). To produce these tones in a freted guitar (a normal one) you would need to bend the notes up with insane precision!
@iampolaris6228 Жыл бұрын
@@maniswolftoman microtones or microtonality is any range of pitches between one half step or semitone. C half sharp is an example of a microtone. Western string instruments are capable of playing microtones using vibrato. with the exception of keyboard instruments. and because all scales commonly utilized in western music are built within a 12-semitone chromatic scale, there is no traditional western music that will be built by microtonal intervals. but they can be heard in some forms of western music through vibrato- like blues and jazz or music of the middle ages. microtones can’t be sustained though. however, sustainable microtones are very often used in middle eastern and south asian cultural music which isn’t build upon a 12-semitone chromatic scale like western music. a lot of middle eastern/south asian folk tunes are dissonant sounding to someone unfamiliar.
@dragonflysword Жыл бұрын
@@iampolaris6228I'm not sure why you would single out the keyboards, they often have a pitch wheel. It might be more difficult for wind instruments, IDK, but I know it's hard to bend strings on a piano.

Villa Lobos! I wonder what he would've thought of this. The rising bass line sounds much like a cello (makes sense since he was a cellist), making that one string fretless just enhances that and makes it more cello-like. Wonderful.
