Wow!! Thank you! This video took quite a bit longer to create because it was a 15-hour drive, giving us many more hours of raw footage. Elgin did a great job of sticking to it through the cutting down of ten hours of video to reach the 40-minute final product. Thank you so much for the outstanding compliment!

Well hail, that was a pretty epic day! We were in Cooke City last summer and had a nice lunch there, right after the flooding. Couldnt make it up to Goose Lake because we had our Tremor vs the Heep, but still so pretty.

Another awesome adventure, the scenery in the Beartooths is beautiful. The Thunder in the high country has a unique sound, you can feel it all the way through your body.

That thunder was scary when we were standing outside. I wanted to run and hide in the Jeep, but the drone was still in the air. It was quite a day! Thank you for watching and commenting. We appreciate it. 🙂

It is well worth the trip. There are other trails in the area that are very nice too. We went back the next weekend and ran a few. A video of those will be out later on. Thanks!

At one time, there was a cable tram that brought ore from several thousand feet up on the mountain down to the furnaces for processing. The lava appearing material is slag. The mines became infeasible during WWII. There's still gold to be had. I sluiced in the area several times and made about thirty cents an hour. Sure love this video. It made me sure I'll go back. I don't know if you went past the goose lake road turn and up lulu pass, but do if you get the chance, take it. It's beautiful and not near as rough. You can make a loop around to the highway where you started .

That would be neat to learn more about this... We loved this trip so much, two weeks later, we went back to Cooke City, checked out the mines, lulu pass and more. We actually went to Lake Abundance. We will be putting out that video sometime before too long. Glad you loved the video and brought back memories. I guess you will have to make it back some time!

Thank you many times over. I lived in Cooke city for 2 years back in the early 70s. I spent a lot of time around goose lake. I went to grasshopper glacier and around the lake. The old copperking mine was over by little goose lake. I was in there last summer(22) in a side by side. The road hasn't gotten any better. The video is a treasure to me. Very well done.

I'm glad you risked the drone... that is some INCREDIBLE footage. Simply stunning. I've not gone up that way before. I've gone over by Henderson Mountain but never up toward the lakes. I have gone up to Ivy Lake on the Wyoming side though. I'd love to get a canoe up there for a paddle/portage trip up that chain to Fox Lake. That would be incredible. Great video guys!

Glad you enjoyed the footage... It was risky! We seriously made it by maybe a minute before the hail came down. :-) We liked this country so much, the very next week, we went up there again, past Henderson Mountain, over Daisy Pass and to Lake Abundance. There will be a video on it later. It won't have the crazy weather this one had though! Thanks!

I love to binge watch shows but you are the first to ever say you were binge watching our show. Thank you so much for your interest in our escapades. We have a lot of fun Jeeping in our backyard. And yes, Elaine is a hoot. Part of why I wanted to start the Wyoming Jeepers was to record her humor. She’s had the family in stitches all of her life. My mom called her the female Don Knots. We try to get out at least once a week, even in the wintertime. Last weekend we had a ton of mud caked to our tires, though we weren't tearing up any roads. Thank you for watching and leaving a comment!

Here in the PNW (Burlington Washington 🤪) they have us all locked out of the high county. Watching your adventures make me jealous..

They are doing that some here too... The Forest Service seems to think that the public land is not for the public. It seems every time I turn around, they are closing another road or making it available only to 4 wheelers. Luckily, they haven't closed them all yet!

Enjoy them while you can, it cost us $350 a year for a key just to drive logging roads.. love the videos. Can’t wait for the next one. I’ve watched all the big name Jeepers and yours are right up there with them.

Great video guys! Cooke City is one of our favorite runs as we go usually once every year. Looks like we were up there the week before you. We used to camp years ago but usually stay in a local hotel there and make 2 or 3 days of it as we live in Billings. That would be cool to meet up with you on your '23 Cooke City run! There are so many trails it takes a few days to do most. Cool mining sites and old cabins ...and as you saw the view is like no other! We enjoy watching your videos and wish you good luck and weather next time up there.

@Author Melissa Cook FYI, because of snow in the high elevations we usually plan on late July or into August. The hike to Goose Lake isn't very long and Definitely worth it! ...and the hotel rooms book up quick. 😉

“Wow” hard to come up with words on what a spectacular looking trip. Thanks to Dan for the sport mode. My thought is it looked so close to number 3 gone. I wonder if the Wyoming Jeepers could be convinced on a tag alone trip. Please!

That was an awesome trip! Wish you would have been there with us on that one. :-) The sport mode was invaluable as you get an extra 10 mph. We were between the storm and the drone so the drone had to fly toward the storm to get back to us. I was actually pretty worried on this one. :-) I am sure we can get you up there this summer!

Yes, I agree. I thought it was going to be the third drone to go down. Those flying cameras are not cheap, either. Dang it! I'm so glad Elgin got it back before that hail hit - within seconds too! Thanks for the wonderful compliment!

My favorite trail! There are several other great trails in the area as well... it almost always storms in the afternnoon up there! That was close to losing a drone! great footage!

Yes, very close with the drone. We have had to replace it twice, and they are not cheap! I was a ball of nerves until it arrived home. Yikes! We drove to another area a few weeks later, and that show will be coming out this spring. Thanks for watching and commenting. We appreciate it.

@@wyomingjeepers I'm considering how I might be able to help if you take a large group up for one of your trailrides up there. So, I'll keep looking for your dates and think about where it might be suitable- but I could camp up there the night before your group comes and have a Lunch ready at round lake or long lake. BBQ burgers and wait for your crew! Let you guys eat and hit the trail- just to shorten the day. I could set up a tent for some cover... well- it might rain or hail lol. It will depend on the day of the week you go and dates you choose...but I might be able to help some jeepers out!

@@AuthorMelissaCook My cheap little drone has fallen out of the sky several times, it somehow keeps working...but it is not reliable at all. It also has suffered some bird attacks by swallows.... I have now painted it like a hornet- seems to keep the attacking birds away from it. I am looking at a new drone.... one for dummies. MAybe it will work better for me.

We think some people might want to stay closer to Cooke City if we take this trip again because it was such a long day. Elaine and I were exhausted from hiking and filming in the storms. It was summer but it was cold that afternoon. 😊

Please tell me about the lights on the top tailgate window hinges if the red Jeep. Where did you get those and are they hardwired in?

From Dan - The lights are Traveller x 4inch Blackout truck pods. spot beam, if I was to do it over I would get the flood beam so the light spread out more. They are wired to an Auxbeam 8 gang switch panel that I have mounted on my radio bar.
