I like 41 too! Honestly, the new era has given us nothing but good to great seasons. My favorite is still 42, but 41 despite its clunk, was a very engaging season!

Hot take: Tommy is a top 10-15 winner in Survivor history. Fans don’t respect his old school style of play in a modern season and the atmosphere of the season as you mentioned overshadowed his win. He was never truly in danger at any point of the game, how he navigated that 4 women against 1 man tribe swap was crazy, and he was brought to the end.

To be fair to Micronesia, the final 2 twists wasn't supposed to happen in the first place but due to all of the medical evacuations it put them way too far ahead of schedule, really really unfortunate for Cirie I feel so bad for her

It's not a given that Cirie was winning Micronesia's F3. Castaways have gone back and forth throughout the years about who they'd vote for and the most probable result is a 3-2-2 Cirie win, a veeeery thin margin.

I just watched Cirie’s advantagegeddon moment today and I honestly don’t think it’s this absolutely awful moment either. If anything I’m surprised something like that hadn’t happened sooner. The legacy advantage is stupid and is pretty much the culprit here but 3 idols isn’t a ridiculous amount to be in play. The whole thing was just an incredibly unlucky circumstance, like what even were the chances of them never voting out one of the idol holders up to that point, or someone like Tai not using one out of fear. It was fascinating to me and I agree that it is a good continuation of Cirie’s “robbed at the end” story.

While these are all hot takes, I actually agree with most of them haha. Especially the stuff about Caramoan, which ive always felt is a bottom 3 season (the other two being Thailand and IOI) and am always so confused when other fans call the Caramoan postmerge "good" when nothing outside of the Three Amigos moment is even a little bit surprising or interesting.

What about Andrea blindside and Brenda blindside Back to Back.. And even Michael boot was fun, when Reynold gave idol to Malcolm😅. Corinne blind was Fine. Plus side stories Brenda vs Andrea, Dawn and Brenda (friendship and blindside), Eddie outsider game, Amigos rise and downfall in two episodes... For me strong post merge until F5😅

Eddie is dragged to the end with really no shot. Brenda's final tribal to Dawn is very disturbing and I could only imagine in person.

Finally someone who points out how disappointing 44 panned out.. the tika 3 were the entire edit from start to finish and the fact that they never really encountered much adversity really took out the excitement of the season.. not to mention other players were not given any time to shine who I wanted to see more of.. Also agree with you that 41 is extremely over hated and I believe it’s the best new era cast.. sure the editing was wonky but what did we expect as the first season of the new era.. it was basically a lab experiment and the cast was so good that it was able to outshine the horrid twists.. also can we keep casting actual passionate players and not ppl who are they for the experience or the journey.. 41 showed raw emotion and ppl playing the game hard which makes it stand out in contrast to seasons like 43 and 44 that are so kumbaya..

The point when Jesse was out I knew Gabler was winning. I thought he had by far the best argument to win and he sold it much better than Cassidy ever did. And I am glad he did because I didn't think Cassidy did much to warrant a win, based on the edit.

Season 45 hot take -- best season of New Era by far far far not despite rhe quits but because of them. Hannah leaving saved Emily we wouldn't have Emily if Hannah didn't quit. That's crazy to think about innit? Also Sean (boring person) quitting gave us good friction between Sifu and the women. Also production planted the SAFE shot in the dark for Kaleb and I say FAIR PLAY TO EM GIVE US A GOOD SHOW. You'll get a better show from Kaleb than J Maya. And don't come at me with "the integrity of the game".... Tell Cirie about the integrity of the game at Advantagegeddon. Tell Dan and Janet with the Idol Nullifier about the integrity of the game. Tell Jason Linden who was screwed bc Elaine got an advantage earlier that same day. It was a 4-4 split swap tribe that had to have someone go to IOI and magically the vote block is on the table that round. Integrity of the game lol. Tell the people screwed by the hourglass about the integrity of the game. Not a game. A game show. We'll never really know but planting the safe scroll for Kaleb woulda been the easiest thing in the world. Personally I think in season 39 they should have turned the camera off during Kellees voting confessional and said "play 1 of your idols and btw this conversation didnt happen" to get Dan Spilo outta there but o well

HARD disagree on Australia being unexciting. That was probably the most exciting season in my opinion!! So many scandals, so much tension, one of the craziest medevacs in Survivor history, the merged tribe struggled with survival to the point where they had to trade their shelter for rice only to have the rice lost in a flood… the list goes on. It was absolutely thrilling to watch and I think it encapsulated the point of the show even better than Borneo. I watched it for the first time early this year and I loved it. But to each their own! My own hottest take in that Natalie A deserved to win WaW and Tony really wasn’t dominant at all. Natalie was the most dominant player even from the edge. The other edge players, especially the challenge beasts, admitted they were terrified of her dominance! She rocked every physical challenge, kept a social game to increase her chances of getting back into the game, and she completely controlled the entire course of the game from the edge with the advantages and curses she sent into the game. People say Tony was controlling the game, but guess who was controlling Tony? Natalie. Tony was her puppet. In my eyes she absolutely could have won if she just explained her game better at FTC. She didn’t own up to her dominance and ended up letting $2 million slip through her fingers at the last second.

The issue I have with the Natalie over Tony sentiment is that we’ve seen what a perfect game looks like from somebody who comes back from the edge. Chris paved the way for someone from the edge winning the game. And Natalie did none of that when she came back into the game. She was definitely dominant on the edge but in the actual game she was really passive, and despite spending more time with the jury than Tony did, only received 4 votes to win I think? I understand the argument I just disagree, but hey that’s what makes all of these hot takes

I'm sorry as much as it's meme'd on Eric giving immunity to Natalie is the dumbest move ever. It was clear what was going to happen with the boot order. He knew how dumb it was the moment he did it. The jury knew what was going to happen, Jeff knew what was going to happen. James may have not played his safety when if he survived that round he was set for two more, but Eric willingly gave up safety and unless your name is Chris Underwood that's a foolish move. Which with the final 3 being a surprise for Eric at that point, he had one more challenge to win. He might not have a guaranteed win but second place would be his regardless (with a final 3 existing, which is the info he had at the time).

Like, people outside of that 4 didn't even have a chance to flush that idol, because it would mean one of them surely getting their head chopped off in the process, because Yul always had 4 votes post-merge... For me 41 had top 3 non returnee casts ever , the editing and the twists were horrendous and led to terrible outcomes (great characters like Voce brad Sydney and JD were voted out premerge) but most of the players were still great TV.

My BIGGEST most scorching hot take EVER: Survivor heroes vs villains is mid. This season is SO overrated and I can’t be the only one who thinks that. We get the pre merge where the one actually great tribal is when Tyson is voted off. The rest is boring. Tyson’s vote off was the high point of the season for me. Even when Tom played the idol it wasn’t that good. People say it is the greatest season ever because they remember the hype at the start with the cast and at the end when Sandra is the first ever two time winner, and just seem to forget the BORING middle. If you look deeper you see this season is just a boring pagonging of the heroes. You’d think the villains, notorious for being backstabbing and ruthless would have more exciting gameplay during the merge but no. Jerri is content just sitting there and doing absolutely nothing. JTs vote off was cool but after that the merge is just a pagonging with one blindside in Daniele’s vote off shoved in between it.

Definitely hot takes. I disagree with the PI one. A lot of the minor characters actually assist the storytelling of the season; Skinny Ryan being the beginning of Savage's downfall, the blunders of Michelle and Nicole, Darrah and her immunity streak...hell, even Shawn was a massive character on rewatches. And Burton was possibly one of the biggest characters. He gets a bit outshined by fairplay, but he was probably the biggest role in getting Rupert out, AND one of the biggest villains in the classic era. He seems to be remembered as boring, but trust me...he was most certainly a cocky, manipulative asshole in PI. Great character though. Respect the hot takes, keep up the good content 🤙
