This was supposed to be a transitional season for Mark Pope, Calipari left coach Pope zero players. If you said at the beginning of the season Kentucky would be 12-3 at the halfway mark fans would be ecstatic!!!! Let's not forget knocking off 3 top 10 teams, Coach Pope is doing one hell of a job and I wouldn't trade him for anybody...

We were terrible and probably deserved to lose so I’m not trying to use this as an excuse but with that being said, that might’ve been the worst officiating I’ve ever seen. The fact that the takeaway is we got pushed around by Georgia physically yet we got all the fouls is absolutely insane. I had to turn it off and not watch most of it. Yes partly because we were terrible but mainly because I couldn’t deal with the whistle. We had no chance of getting a groove when most of our starters were sitting with foul trouble. Otega with two in five minutes, Amari couldn’t play a minute without a foul and he’s known for not fouling and over his 5 year career has never fouled out. Like that was genuinely the worst officiating I’ve ever witnessed and because of that I’m not too upset with the loss.

Firstly, I understand it makes for good content to say that the UK fan base is expecting #9 in Coach Popes first year, that’s insane and nobody I know would be absolutely destroyed if we went to the NIT this year. Coach Pope has done highly impressive things in his first year here with a put together team. Do I want UK to win it all? Yes. Do I think that’s going to happen? No Secondly, I’ve seen Pope get fired up a few times, I’ve also seen a flagrant 1 flop called on a UK player and the next trip up the floor Popes high fivin and smilin givin them a slap on the ass like they’ve done us a favor by putting our best post player on the bench. He’s going to have to take a tech or something to show these boys that he’s frustrated by those bullshit no contact fouls and flagrant flops. Whether the whistle was deserved or not you gotta stand on your boys side whether he’s wrong or right. It’s Popes first year coaching in the SEC and I understand he don’t want to ruffle feathers and make enemies out of SEC coaches, but UGA would’ve hung 60 on us if Mike White had the chance. I’m not saying the free throw disparity was the reason we lost the game, but last night the home team worked the refs and the away team took every one. Maybe he’s trying to build some kind of relationship with the refs so when Auburn comes in to Rupp he gets the calls he wants or something? Idk, I do know there is far more finesse in this game than just the players on the court and I wonder why it’s never mentioned?

Thank goodness I'm not the only one who feels that way. Granted, the Cats haven't been playing up to their potential, but it seems to me that, no matter who they play, they're up against eight opponents. It takes away from the game and dampens the spirit of the team. And, it makes no difference if they're at home or away. Home court advantage, my foot! The refs always seem to call for the opposition. Look at the stats and then tell me the Cats weren't disparaged.

We have a Jaxson Robinson problem. I don’t even want him to start. I want him to even lose time to Trent Noah. Like he’s been god awful man. 5-12 for 14 points last game is like his second best game all season. Dude has been freaking terrible. If he was what he was advertised to be this team would be so much better. We need a create a shot guy and we don’t. We have guys that are great at other things but he’s the only one that can really dribble and get his own but apparently that’s wrong since we’ve barely seen it happen.

@austinkeith2198
@austinkeith2198 6 сағат бұрын
@ I really only meant I want him to lose time in a game like that. I probably should’ve phrased it differently. Otega was in foul trouble for a while, Jaxson was clearly not there, and Koby wasn’t doing too much. I think in a game like that, there’s no reason not to throw him out there for a minute or two and see what he can do and then go from there. I don’t want him to get a ton of minutes and play over Jaxson. Anyway, Jaxson has not been the steady hand. He played well late in the Gonzaga game where he was forced to always have the ball and that’s it. That’s like the only game. And he was absolutely terrible in the last game. Nothing about his game has been steady.

They lose to teams that refs allow to shoot 2× more free throws. Anyone is going to lose. 19 cleared out underneath the rim for a rebound, tossed it to his partner, who ended up at the ft line. A 3 point foul where the man wasn't even touched, Robinson on a foul where he didnt come into contact. You're not talking 1 or 2 times. I'm not a man for excuses, but I turned the game off with about 8 minutes left after their big cleared out under the basket, then they took free throws.

Kentucky will NEVER win banner No.9, MARK MY WORDS. If you can’t play well on the road, you’re NOT winning a title. IDC that they beat Duke and Gonzaga on a neutral, they SHOULD HAVE LOST those games, and they needed massive comebacks. You CAN’T do that in the tournament, you WILL lose early if you fall behind a big amount and start slow

If the shots aren’t falling then KY just throws their arms up and says oh well, we’ll get em next game. They play with little energy. Except Butler. Plus, they are all quiet dudes that don’t wanna disrupt the (friendly), for lack of better word, and yell at somebody. I am a die hard UK fan, but this is nonsense the refs beat us. Bull crap! They are soft, and I love Mark Pope. But don’t ignore the fact that we have proven we cannot play on the road. Mark hasn’t been able to run his offense on the road for an entire game yet. And the blueprint has been laid out on how to beat us. Our Bigs are soft, and the gimicky 1-3-1 won’t work. Defense is soft and offense is even softer. Blocking out isn’t hard! Its effort. I played high school ball Ky and then after at a smaller college in Ky. We are soft and the good news is that can be worked on. But they might want to start now. The highs are super high! But the lows are too low. Georgia is garbage

I am a true Big Blue fan of UK basketball, but I agree with Torres on two things. The inconsistencies of the team and they need to figure it out quickly because we are in SEC play! As it stands right now, we literally don't know which team is going to show up. This is a veteran team, but quite frankly, sometimes it doesn't look like we are, especially in light of the games we've lost. I'm not blind, I see the disparity in the amount of fouls being called; however, we've got to find a way as a veteran team to win in spite of that. It's not like anything can be changed about the referees. We have to be the necessary change by bringing our "A" game every game playing 40 minutes of hard nosed basketball. We may not win every game, but we must give every team we play a real "Cat" fight! Have you ever seen a cat fight? They take the fight to their opponent. They strike fast and hard. Their opponent knows it's been in a fight when it's over. Our guys need to figure it out quickly. I know they can do it, but consistency is the key. GO CATS... GO BIG BLUE!!!

The officiating was awful and it was a factor, but it's not the sole reason we lost we didn't play well enough to overcome the whistle. As far Williams I've been critical of him, but I can't fault him in this one, because he looked like he was playing with effort, but the refs took him out the game. He didn't score much, but he did have 9 rebounds in 13 minutes. As for Oweh the refs called 2 fouls on him in the first 2 or 3 minutes of the game. If I'd to pick out one guy why we lost 3 games it's Jaxson Robinson he played poorly in all 3 of our losses and he played horrible against Colgate as well a game we won by 9 against a team we should've beaten by 30 plus and the Georgia game was his worst performance. Was a complete no show in Athens we just 5 points and it's worse then it sounds those 5 points were almost meaningless didn't hit his first shot until midway through the 2nd half and a couple of foul shots when it looked like we were headed for a loss. This guy was suppose to be an NBA prospect granted not obvious NBA draft pick, but when he plays bad he doesn't even look like a Euro league prospect. He suppose to be a better player then this. He needs to start showing it and doing it consistently.

You are biased, you can't get into any kind of flow if everything you do is a foul. Can't play defense like you normally do for fear of a foul. Call the game the same. Let one team beat the crap out of one team no fouls and the other team tries the same and every move is a whistle. Clemson got away with traveling no calls. Do you watch these games? Or just see the highlights on ESPN? SMH. I been watching Basketball twice as long as you been alive, this is by far the worst officiating this year I have ever seen. All I ask for is consistency which there definitely hasn't been. If it was happening to UCONN what would you be saying? Exactly. Retire or do actual research.

Erin, you do a good job I like your content. The points you bring up about the issues within the offense against Georgia are true however I believe they’re influenced by the poor officiating that night. Otega was set to have a big night immediately gotten foul trouble on some questionable fouls. We couldn’t touch Georgia without getting a whistle as evident by how many free throws they shot which really Limits the physicality you can play with and put Georgia in a better position to succeed. Even with the poor officiating as mentioned by the halftime show on ESPN, who rarely talks about poor officiating Kentucky kept it close for most of the game. I consider the Georgia game an actual success because of this. They fought the whole game there was no way they were going to be allowed to win it because they couldn’t touch or play defense without a foul called. The refs were even calling phantom fouls go look at the Highlights of the officials. It’s quite humorous, and yet the cat still hung in there.

I haven't even watched this video yet and I have a weird feeling he's going to say physicality. And to that I say bullshit My brother in christ. If one team is allowed to maul the other while that team isn't allowed to raise an arm without a foul being called then how are you supposed to play physical? Hell, most of UK's bigs stopped putting hands up midway through the second half because they didn't want to foul out with 8 minutes to go 💀
