Absolutely. You hit the nail right on the head there. When I saw her dad crying like that I started getting teary-eyed. And it broke my heart even more when Laci's remains washed ashore April 13th. When I saw that my heart fell into my stomach. I thought oh dear God no. I just simply couldn't believe that her husband could do something like that to his beautiful wife who was also pregnant. To this day it still saddens my heart.

Sad that police didn't investigate the sightings or leads regarding her disappearance. The MPD should have done their jobs. They refused follow the actual evidence, tips and sightings that points in a completely different direction. The media spun everything and that's the way police wanted it. He was seen at the marina by three people. Does it sound logical that a guy is going to kill his wife and take the chance of dumping her body in broad daylight. He needs to back the boat down the ramp and leave it there for anyone to see in broad daylight including anyone from the hundreds of people that live on their boats all year round. There was no forensic evidence, eyewitnesses, video surveillance etc ever proving the States theory. Even the SF Medical examiner (Boyd Stevens) explained to the lead detective that it would be highly unlikely that 32 lbs would submerge the body. It would just float. He also said the currents would likely take the body out to sea. She was found nearly 4 months later. How do currents flowing Southbound at 4 knots place either body where they were found. -Conner (baby) was determined to be alive until Jan 3rd by both the States expert and the Medical examiner? Furthermore, Dr Charles March testified there is no way that Scott and Laci Peterson's unborn baby could have died any earlier than Dec. 29, 2002. Dr Allison Galloway determined the baby could have even been alive as far along as Jan 14th. -Conner was found above the high tide line and water break. -The baby's left ear was permanently flattened against the head and a rectangular piece of material was over his ear. -Plastic wrap knotted around his neck that had to be cut off, not far from a plastic bag which was never tested. -The criminologist and medical examiner, both concluded that the twine could not have wrapped around Conner’s neck accidentally. Dr. Cyril Wecht noted, "never in a million years." -Laci had a missing neck that is not consistent with any known disarticulation in aqueous environments. -Laci's uterus was at least 10 cm (3.9") smaller than it should have been, explaining why the incision to remove Conner was not visible on her body, and the injured 9th rib, postmortem injury is in the same location where such an incision would have been made.

That is false. From Larry King Live, January 3, 2003 S. ROCHA: Yes. Yes. She always took her dog for a walk. Not necessarily every single morning. Because she is far along in her pregnancy, but yes, that was her normal routine, to take the dog for a walk in the park. From Amy Rocha’s testimony (Preliminary hearing) Q. Okay. And you know that within that last couple of days that she'd also been to the -- been to the park walking the dog or walking McKenzie; isn't that correct? A. I don't know for sure if she walked to the park, but I knew that she'd been walking frequently, yes. From medical records and from Brocchini’s interview with Kristen Reed: GERAGOS: If I were to tell you that Laci had called the OBGYN and had indicated that she was concerned about weight gain, even after the doctor had recommended that she stop, and that she was walking again even though the doctor had asked her to stop. And then you get Kristen Reed's statement that she made to you that she had started walking again because of weight gain, would that change your opinion or your belief that she had been walking on the 24th?

@@lilymae7516 Because the tides and currents are strong. Finding a body in the same place nearly 4 months later would be highly unlikely. Detective Craig Grogan consulted San Francisco Medical Examiner Boyd Stephens two weeks before the bodies washed ashore. Stephens also told Grogan it was not likely the body would have stayed in one place, in part because of currents in the bay. Bodies have moved as much as 5 miles along the bay floor, Stephens said. The current around Brooks Island where Scott was fishing is a strong 4 knots, Grogan reported -- so strong that divers said it made underwater searches difficult. Stanislaus County prosecutors and Modesto police have never reenacted the placement of Laci's body in the bay. That may be because Stephens warned police that the 35 pounds of concrete anchors they theorized were used to sink Laci's 153-pound body was not enough to do the job. The medical examiner said bodies have been found floating with 80 pounds of weight attached.

Concrete has been used as a weight to dispose of a body. In 1941, the body of Philadelphia racketeer Johnnie Goodman was found by crab fisherman in a New Jersey creek, weighed down with an 18-kilogram (40-pound) block of concrete.[2] On August 24, 1964, the body of Ernest Rupolo, aged 52, a trigger man who informed on Vito Genovese in 1944, was found in Jamaica Bay, New York, with concrete blocks tied to his legs.[8] It is also speculated that bootlegger Rocco Perri was murdered by being fitted with cement shoes and thrown into Hamilton Harbour in 1944

PETERSON: A lot of it has to do with understanding how a body acts in water. And once somebody is in the water and dead, however they get there, because of center of gravity, the arms and legs are heavy, and the body floats face down, with the arms and legs hanging down. Initially, typically the body also sinks. So at this point we have a body with arms and legs hanging down low in the water. Meaning down as far as it can go. In other words, close to the bottom. At that point, due to tidal action, current, et cetera, that body is going to move along the bottom with the arms and legs hanging down, and those parts that are low are subject to being injured by stuff on the bottom: Rocks, debris, ship parts, whatever happens to be down there. So by a combination of decomposition and tidal action alone, even in the absence of animal activity, the parts that are hanging down can be lost, and the parts that do hang down would be just that, the forearms, the lower legs, the head, the neck, and so forth. Now, of course, the other possibility in a marine environment is that animal activity is in involved as well. As I said earlier, that can be large animal activity, larger fish, sharks, et cetera, down to smaller animal activity. And just depends on what's there. HARRIS: Now, you are talking about this body, Miss Peterson being in a marine environment. So when you are looking at this initial general observation, was there something on the body that was giving you a strong indication she had been in a marine environment? PETERSON: Well, I think the adipocere was helpful. There were barnacles on bone that was also helpful. To me, the mineralization, the stony deposits on clothing, was also an indicator.

He is guilty, without a doubt of killing 2 people LACI & CONNOR. Yes, I know he was cheating on Laci, but that's not what makes him guilty, sure it played a part in Scott's decisions but with or without him cheating, it doesn't change the fact that he killed 2 people, got caught for it all, he was proved to be lying about many things during interrogations too! Now he has to live with his sentence, which he's not happy with his well deserved consequences && wants a retrial. That makes Laci's parents & family have to relive it all again causimg even more pain to them.. 18 years later & he's still causing emotional pain & hurt. LACI'S PARENTS NEED TO CIVILLY SUE SCOTT PETERSON IF THEY HAVEN'T YET!! The laws are public for everyone to read & learn. Scott knew there is lifetime altering consequences for the crimes he committed, yet he chose to do it anyway. WTF ever made him think he'd even have a chance of getting away with it??! I don't feel sorry for him one bit, he should've went about it the right way & filed for divorce. Laci's parents never got to meet their first grandson that was almost full-term, their holidays are RUINED FOREVER. Scott is the GRINCH & chose the WORST 🎄 'Christmas 🎁 a parent could ever recieve. He didn't want his kid, he refused to touch her belly & when she got pregnant is when the downfall was noticeable by more than Laci herself.

That's funny, because I only see 27 days of searches before the bodies were even discovered. December 28, 30; Jan 8, 9, 11, 18, 24, 28; Feb 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, 20, 21, 23, 26; March 1, 2, 3, 4, 11, 12, 13, 26, 27, 29. They found nothing. FYI, Conner could not have washed ashore from any direction under the conditions that existed on April 13. The water level produced by the 5.88 high tide simply did not produce a waterway to carry him to where he was found. And he was beyond the debris line, which means that he was not pushed back to where he was found by the breaking waves. The SF Medical examiner (Boyd Stevens) explaining to the lead detective that it would be highly unlikely that 32 lbs would submerge the body. It would just float. He also said the currents would likely take the body out to sea. She was found nearly 4 months later. How do currents flowing Southbound at 4 knots place either body where they were found. -Conner (baby) was found above the high tide line and water break.

Scott also told the police that as well, as Det. Beochini mentions it during the interview and Scott does not correct him. Also, the neighbor said she put McKenzie back in the yard and left the dogs leash on. Why even mention that fact if it “wasn’t that odd” (as Scott himself said); and Scott is now trying to make it seem as if after the neighbor put the dog back in the yard with its leash on, someone Scott clearly is hoping people think it was Laci who took the leash off.

And then you get Kristen Reed's statement that she made to you that she had started walking again because of weight gain, would that change your opinion or your belief that she had been walking on the 24th? The MPD tried to steer the focus by saying the witnesses they DID NOT follow up was mistaken identity. Yet the MPD did NOT do their jobs. We even have the SF Medical examiner (Boyd Stevens) explaining to the lead detective that it would be highly unlikely that 32 lbs would submerge the body. It would just float. He also said the currents would likely take the body out to sea. She was found nearly 4 months later. How do currents flowing Southbound at 4 knots place either body where they were found. -Conner was determined to be alive until Jan 3rd by both the States expert and the Medical examiner? Furthermore, Dr Charles March testified there is no way that Scott and Laci Peterson's unborn baby could have died any earlier than Dec. 29, 2002. Dr Allison Galloway determined the baby could have even been alive as far along as Jan 14th. -Conner (baby) was found above the high tide line and water break.

So if Scott didn’t do it and the burglars story takes the lead, how did the burglars know to dump Lacis body in the area where Scott supposedly went fishing, and why would even they drive 90 miles away to get rid of her.....typically burglars don’t want confrontation or any type of violence......let alone going that far out of their way.....

Prior to the Medina Burglary, Steven Todd was a two strike felon. According to the California Three Strikes Sentencing Law he would automatically be handed a life sentence for his next burglary if he gets caught. So what do you think he's going to do when Laci Peterson returns home from walking the dog, sees him and Pearce robbing the house directly across the street, and walks over to confront them in the Medina's driveway? And the simple reason why they knew exactly where to dump the body is because three days after she was abducted the Modesto Police Department revealed through the media that Scott Peterson was fishing out of Berkeley Marina. And finally, how is that you find it hard to believe that her abductors would drive 90 miles to dispose of her body when you don't find it hard to believe that Scott Peterson would drive 90 miles to dispose of her body.

Like it or not, in the U.S. "circumstantial evidence" is competent evidence. Often, fraud and murder cases hinge on circumstantial evidence. Here, there's way too much circumstantial evidence, and a jury is well within its right to find him guilty on this indirect evidence.

Then what is the circumstantial evidence that proves the States case? Conjecture and prosecutor speculation is not circumstantial evidence. where is the evidence that he murdered Laci? Where is the evidence that he put her body in the Bay? If 3 exhaustive searches of the house and vehicles, 2 exhaustive searches of the warehouse, 3000+ wiretaps, hundreds of wiretaps by the girlfriend and various family members, friends being used as spies, ground and GPS surveillance, cell phone records, examination of all financial records both personal and business, examination of all computers, and an exhaustive search of the 1 3/4 square mile are where Laci would have been if Scott murdered her -- if all this could not produce any evidence that Scott murdered Laci. pwc-sii.com/Research/editorials/why.htm

@@aok4418 -- When circumstances allow a reasonable inference of guilt, that's the kind of conjecture that's allowed to be made (in U.S. law). I'm not saying it's necessarily the best system, but in the U.S. indirect / nonconclusive evidence can allow a finding a guilt, when the inference is reasonable. As with many murder and fraud cases, the Peterson case doesn't have a conclusive smoking gun. But, again as with many other murder and fraud cases, the overall heap of indirect evidence is pretty overwhelming (almost embarrassing when you really take it as a whole). Direct? No. Conclusive? No. But in the U.S. we do allow indirect, nonconclusive evidence to build a case for guilt -- again if the inference is reasonable. Whether we like it or not, our legal system as evolved to allow guilt to be INFERRED, when enough indirect evidence makes such an inference reasonable. Otherwise, we would end up rewarding the cleverness of people who commit crimes - since it's in the nature of a crime to make efforts to avoid leaving direct evidence.

@@aok4418 -- Under the applicable rules of evidence, it is not just a fact, but a relevant fact, that Scott had lied about playing golf on the same day he admittedly ended up on a boat in a location relevantly close to where Laci & baby's remains were eventually recovered. All of those elements are facts. In the U.S., reasonable inferences may be made - based upon those facts - and also based on additional facts regarding Scott's demeanor and evasiveness with law enforcement during the investigation period. Moreover, his parallel relationship w Ms. Frey & his comments to Ms. Frey about Laci & the overall dishonesty w Ms. Frey around the time of the investigation are facts. Sadly, when a pregnant wife ends up dead, it is very relevant that there might be a parallel relationship, and the attitudes & things said in & around that parallel relationship are facts - and (in the overall mix) reasonable inferences can be made. At the end of the day, you're right --> There is no smoking gun, slam-dunk conclusive evidence. I think the whole country knows that. I also think people know that, when you put a microscope to the hard evidence, it is possible to find interpretations that lead away from an inference of guilt. In the end, if the trial court decides to let Scott have a new trial, obviously he's entitled to put up a defense and point to any interpretation of the facts that may be exculpatory. But it is also reasonable for the jury to consider the weight of the circumstantial facts that are consistent with guilt, and which may allow such an inference to be reasonable. I don't want to take a personal stake in the case, because that's for lawyers and family members. All I'm saying is that we can't be astonished that, at least in this country, a jury is allowed to make inferences based on indirect nonconclusive facts. That's what circumstantial evidence is.

The husband didn't kill her. Police hid information from the public and the defense. Remember, a treasure trove of incriminating evidence against S Todd and G Pearce existed. There was no information about any investigation of this tip. Lt. Aponte gave a signed statement to defense investigators which said the prisoner had been interviewed by MPD, and that MPD had received a copy of the taped phone conversation. Instead of this information being disclosed during discovery. The only information provided to the defense about his tip was a simple notation on a CD which included 10,000 other tips about the case. -Merlin, the trailing dog owned by Cindee Valentin, trailed Laci's scent to the Gallo Winery in the airport district, on the night of December 26. Not far from the burglars residence. -December 31, a gold Croton watch, identical to Laci’s watch which disappeared the same day she did, was pawned by Deanna Renfro. Highly unlikely this is just a coincidence. It gets better. The families of Deanna Renfro, Steven Todd and the Tenbrinks know one another. -Diane Jackson reported seeing 3 men with a VAN and a SAFE in front of the Medina’s house at 11:40 a.m. on December 24. There is no debating this. The burglary happened the same day Laci disappeared. Both Todd and Pearce pled guilty to burglary charges 12-24-02. They both received reduced sentences. - S Todd would have received 25 years for his third offense. So why did he get 8 years and 8 months, far less than 25 years. Pearce received only 180 days, yet he was another career criminal. -Tom Harshman, who lived in Modesto, was driving with Elizabeth Harshman between 2 and 4 p.m. on the afternoon of December 24. He saw a young pregnant woman being forced into a van. He turned around and went back to the spot hoping to find the van still there and hoping to get more information about the license plate number. But they were gone. 1. He called police (911 MPD) that same day. 2. Tried again December 28. 3. December 28, he also called the Laci tip line twice. His first call on this date was listed incorrectly under the name Harsh and was given Bates Stamp number 14789. The call was given to Detective Holmes. Harsh(man) said that he had called 3 or 4 days earlier on the day that he had seen a pregnant young woman being pushed into a van. There had been a man standing over her as she squatted to urinate with her back up against a chain-link fence. The man was described as 30’s, tall, thin, with ponytail, dirty blonde to gray hair, scrubby looking. When she finished, the woman was shepherded back to the driver’s door of the car, where another man’s arm was seen pulling her into the car. He said the young woman was wearing black pants and a red shirt. He said she had a scared look on her face." 4. Jan 3rd, he went to the Command Post in the park and relayed this to the officer on duty. Over 40,000 pages in the discovery and nothing about this report was in it. 5. February 2003, Harshman’s wife spoke to a relative of hers who lived in New York about the sighting of Laci Peterson near the corner of Scenic and Claus. Mrs. Harshman’s relative shared this story with an NYPD detective. This NYPD detective was so concerned that he contacted the MPD and spoke personally to Detective Grogan on February 14, 2003. What did Grogan do with the information? Nothing at all. 6. pre-trial hearings in May of 2004, DA Investigator Kevin Bertalotto noticed the Harshman tip and insisted that Grogan call Tom Harshman and speak to him personally. Grogan did this on May 18, 2004. An audiotape and a transcription of his conversation with Harshman to the defense on May 20, 11 days before the beginning of the trial.
