On one hand, investors are the people who grow an economy. On the other hand most of them think you can grow your money by 200% a year by doing nothing and are very disappointed when the star-up ceo's that claim that are complete liars that take their money.

@@danielgrezda3339 "investors are the people who grow an economy." That line needs to die because it is not only (mostly) false, most investors actually have a negative effect on the economy. Economies grow because the number of people in that economy grows and/or peoples ability to purchase more grows. Investors can help that but most don't, especial stock holders. The money payed out in dividends could go back into the company, pay people more, pay the companies bills, sustainably grow the company. The best way to grow the economy is to create more good jobs, investors will not create those as they want a return on their investment. Hearing more people and paying employees more take money from the business/company which lowers dividends which lowers returns on investments. The majority of investors hurt the economy.

Pretty much everything he said that wasn't specifically about the gaming industry applies to my work as well. As a department manager looking at the decisions corporate execs like to make, there's such a disconnect between what they think will work and what actually will work that it borders on incompetence. And the half hour zoom meetings every week to go over about 5 minutes of actual info that could have just been an email. And bringing in former execs from completely unrelated companies to manage stuff instead of promoting up from within. And buying truckloads of new merchandise for all the branches because "more variety means more $" and not listening to the branch managers that tell them there's no demand for a lot of the stuff they are buying, then turning around and griping at those branch managers asking why they have so much dead stock. It's goddamn infuriating.

The detective is back! He is on par with fr, IMO. Different, but both are highly entertaining. Cheers to all of you folks! I think this is the easiest thing to support on Patreon for me, a truly genuine democratic endeavor. Years of zp have taught me the standards of yatzi.

I tried varied content from The Escapist before when I thought I should watch something else than just Zero Punctuation, then Cold Take became my favourite show on there, your silky voice and your critique of the industry is a delight.

You and Yahtzee have had your finger directly on the pulse of the industry for a long time now and I appreciate when creators don't bullshit me to keep things digestible to mass-market speculations. The business world runs on hype trains in boom and bust cycles that flat out refuse to acknowledge the forest from the trees. Thank you for taking a brave step forward to leave these outdated ways behind. I am excited to see where Second Wind takes things from here.

I'm loving these new episodes, so far everyone taken a crack at the useless suits who fired Nick, and out comes Frost with a straight ten-minute long flurry of bitchslaps directly across the face! I really expect the harsh criticism of the industry from Yahtz, but Frost has every bit of what it takes and more. Glad you guys got your second wind!

That not-ending had incredible punch. Exactly the amazingly written and smoothly delivered discussion I've come to expect from you Frost! Cold Take was an incredible addition to the catalog and I am so happy that it's getting a chance to stick around.

I'm part of the 90% who found The Escapist through Zero Punctuation. But in it's reletively short runtime, Cold Take has now become my favourite. So happy to see it continued on Second Wind, and under it's original name of Cold Take. Looking forward to more, Frost!

I admit I had concerns that Frost might not make the transition. I'm incredibly hyped seeing where this is going. It was crazy seeing 200k subscribers without actually having any *content* out yet. It's awesome seeing how well this is kicking off.

This and ZP were the only reasons I watched your previous channel. As someone who spent 14 years in the industry, your take on this is absolutely spot on. The "suits" have no idea what they're doing, but they're never the ones to face the consequences for their failures - look at Riccitiello - ousted from EA for abject failure, but landed another stupidly high paying job as if nothing had happened. There's a mindset at this level - when things go well, it's because of your brilliant leadership. When things go badly, it's because your underlings didn't do as you told them. They believe this completely, wholeheartedly, which is why there's always the next job lined up for these "experienced leaders". Still, sometimes things go too far and a poor decision really comes back to bite them on the ass. If only I could think of a recent example of such a thing... As a wise woman once said, "don't it always seem to go, that you don't know what you got 'til it's gone".

i'm so glad you own cold take. this one was especially good to me. a few years ago i got fired from a job i was passionate about. two weeks later i had the job of dreams (in my field) and i didn't even know it. the last few years i've seen nothing but appreciation and advancement due to my skills where my last job i might as well have been shoveling s*** the rest of my life. i know you got it and i wish you and second wind nothing but the best. thank you man. just thank you man

I didn't know this show existed, if it even did exist in a fashion on The Exploitist website. But this slow and dulcet voice over over the black-and-white filter, the sort of noir-detective feeling this exudes. I could fall asleep to this voice, and you talking about the errors of executives and what they can or can't do in order to correct them!. It gives me a nostalgia I never knew I had. I came to support Yahtzee, but I think I will be staying for you!
