"I love the idea that we transport ourselves through life with tools." 6:49 "The cruelty is that the better the tool, the easier it is to forget about them, because we're so deeply engaged in whatever the tool has allowed us to do." What a terrifc and well-told story! Incredible and inspiring.

I was just thinking something like that when I found this comment, but about cinematography. Drone shots and different camera angles are so wide spread now, that I had to focus extra to see how good the production quality on this was for literally just a hat video

Beau's film-work, his unique outlook on life and the people and things around him makes his channel the best on YT, by far. Being a film maker, I can only hope to achieve such confidence and proficiency in crafting stories, the way that he does. Seemingly out of thin air he grabs these ideas, yet, they entail so much meaning. I hope he never quits film making, just as I hope that my favourite pair of jeans-shorts that I have stiched up so many times and that I have been wearing everywhere for the last 10 years, won't quit on me :D.

@@davidanalyst671 you can't expect a person to remain the same forever, age, responsibility etc can cause a person to change things up, Beau is a legend of a man who I wish all the best for in life, just remember they are just KZbinrs to most, but beau is a person with children and a wife and a career and family ...
@fabianpeters7077
@fabianpeters7077 2 жыл бұрын
@@davidanalyst671 what makes you think, I haven't been following his progess? Seems to me, his past adventures very much inform his film work of the present. Ever since "Run the line" his films have constantly progressed into a niche art form that - at least to my eye - is unparalleled. Certainly on YT. This is a film maker, who is not making a film for the sake of making a film - such as me for example. Rather, he is a film maker, who takes a given sujet and finds meaning through the very process of making the film itself. Quite unique.

I think myself lucky to have found this channel. Beau embodies all the philosophical and adventurous qualities that I pursue in this quest in life. I'm James, 26 years old - and I'm at a transitional time where a big chapter of my life is now closing, but as long as I keep my health and my core values true to me - I will find happiness in every day around my own "outback". Beau has been an inspiration to my running and I enjoy doing half marathons of my own creation! I only hope one day I can do an experience such as your 650KM Alps run. So, to everyone here - May you live and find happiness every day of your life.

I wonder how many other like minded wilderness runners there are around. Thinking of T. Hanks and Wilson.. makes me think of Forrest Gump. You run till you're ready to stop.. and you're not afraid to run where few have dared to tread. How cool would it be to organise a "follow Beau" Run day and see who is nutty enough to follow you. So many people comment about how you inspire them, which is awesome, and I agree. You are a true Aussie bloke with an inquisitive and beautiful risk taking mind. I imagine your grand kids popping into Walhalla to check out the legacy of their grandfather and telling their grankids about all the wonderful times you had with that blue hat. Such a simple and yet powerful symbol of truly living your life.

I wore through my beloved Tilley hat at the end of a three month adventure across the eastern seaboard of Australia (a feat not typically taken by Americans). That hat saw me through numerous family vacations to beaches and deserts. I swam in too many rivers, lakes, and beaches to count while hiding under its protection. I watched my children grow before me from under its brim. It was in one last swim at the Trial Bay Gaol in Arakoon, NSW that I finally had to admit defeat. Sweat, UV, and saltwater tore it beyond repair. That was a great hat.

Your videos are so inspirational. You've got such an amazing outlook on life, you don't seem to worry about the big things and because of that you notice all the little important things. I wish there were more people like you!

I really cannot wait for the turmoils of my life to either fall away or finish up. @Beau Miles Has inspired me to believe that our youth is a great time to have adventure, but that even as I age I can still continue to find adventure wherever I look. Trick is ya just have to know what you want and seize the day. Thank you for all of the amazing insights of life mate. I can't wait to read your book once I have the spare cash after putting all of my finances into helping my Mom and StepDad through his recent cancer diagnosis. I wish everyone out there a happy and healthy life to you and all of your loved ones. Cheers. :)

This one, this particular episode brought my heart and brain into a real fucking alignment. Touched on a scale that knows no bounds for a middle aged guy/man like me. This is inspiration from an odd doppelganger we subtly feel here and there. Take this episode and create a TedTalk for the world too here. Thank you. Cheers Mate!!! Sincerely, Deadgar Lain

You go for a run, but then it's not just a run, its a story. That always gets me. And everything you say either makes me smile, think, laugh or commiserate. The way you approach life is simple, but in the most inspiring way, we could all benefit from relearning what you embody everyday.

R.I.P your hat. Condolences from New Zealand. AS someone who recently retired an old hat, I feel your pain. Have a good one Beau!

Cowboy here. I emphasize deeply with your attachment to your hat. I’ve only had mine for a year, and it’s protected me from a t-post pounder shattering my skull, a flash flood, lacerations on my head, hundreds of sunburns, heat stroke, and it’s also protected me from physical violence from other men (a cowboy’s hat is a huge determent for violence, I’ve found.). Every time I put it on, it reminds me just who I am, and who I’m trying to become. A hat is massively symbolism. I’d be in a sorry state if I ever lost mine, but I’m glad you got to retire yours.

I love the bit about appreciating the tools that enable great experiences.. people take their stuff for granted all the time. its awesome to watch the factory process for many daily things helps appreciate them a little more. clothes are a particularly long process and they cost so little. thanks for your awesome work beau.

Amazing how we all hang into things and how strangely they become important. My cap owned got 25 years and taken with me on every adventure I’ve had in that time blew from my head in Germany in 2019. An utter sense of loss and longing to have found it. Still haven’t replaced it but fond memories were created wearing that hat ! And like you Beau , we still have those memories. Keep up the great content mate , Rob
