Appreciate all your research, time filming, editing etc. and sharing the more remote areas of your journeys. Quite a few of your videos have brought back many great memories with my family visiting the more popular stops. Got a good laugh from you late night visitor, that's what makes the adventures more memorable. Thanks again, safe journeys

100% respect for the peanut butter! My camp kitchen is always stocked with it...many breakfasts, lunches and dinners have been peanut butter on rice cakes or English muffins. Man...that lake with the Tetons arising from the far side...incredible. Could one boat across the lake in order to get up into those canyons instead of hiking in the long way? Of course I have no sense of scale on that lake, perhaps that's way too far to paddle across. And I would never actually do either of those things myself anyway...I'm happy to watch someone else do it though, LOL.

All those falls from the land lifting up like a bubble, a lava dome that's going to blow sky high someday. Someday soon. After driving away from my campsite recently, as I was nogotiating an offramp, I felt something on top of my head, then on my shoulder, then dropped down between the seats. Later I realized a mouse had dropped down from a hole in the headliner. I got rid of it with a glue board a few days later. Nice work with the manual live-drop. As opposed to a "dead drop".

Loved the the off-the-beaten path stuff near Yellowstone. Mice can be annoying. One got into the bear box in Voyageurs this fall & chewed a hole into the canvas bag we were toting the pup’s food in (food was in ziplocks). Thankfully it was not in the tent.

With the eleventh essential being toilet paper the twelfth essential is a mouse trap. Hung my food bag from a tree limb. The next morning there was a hole chewed in the lower side. I surmised the mouse/mice slid down the pull string, into the hole formed by the pull string and out the chew hole. They took every single grain of trail mix. It had to have been like a bucket brigade all night. Surprisingly there was not a single chew mark in the block of cheese in that food bag.

I've read of people putting an empty tuna can (upside down) with a hole through the middle over the cord when hanging a bag of food for that exact reason! And I've had similar experiences. I had a gallon-sized bag of food on the ground during a multi-day backpacking trip. The mice or squirrels or chipmunks or whatever they were bit a tiny hole in just the little bag of nuts inside and somehow sucked out every single one without attempting to get at anything else!

Awesome, a lake camp with no one around! We've had a couple mouse hitchhikers, one in Baja stayed with us for days, until I caught him with a tupperware trap--had big round ears with a cute little ear nick...And a wood mouse in Utah, we kicked out at Muley Point. I hope she was wary of heights. We felt bad, but we emptied out the van to find her. Pulled up the seats and everything.

Like you, I hate camp cooking because I HATE washing dishes when camping! (all that dirty greasy water - gross 😣) So I eat very simply; just boil water. I don't eat dinner but love my breakfast of instant oatmeal topped with my home made trail mix along with a small can of V8. But nothing beats camp coffee! I use the same coffee and even the same water brought from my home but it just tastes so amazing out in the woods while watching the sun rise and the alpenglow 😍. I just pour more boiling water onto my bowl and spoon then disperse scatter the water away from camp. For lunch, I love cheese and salami (both precut at home to avoid greasy knife and cutting board), grapes, Triscuits and a glass of red wine (if I'm eating in camp). After breaking camp before heading home, I treat myself to a "all the works" breakfast at a small hole-in-the-walls fisherman's Cafe. You've given me some new ideas though. Next trip I'm going to bring peanut butter and also try your quesadilla "recipe". I'll just wipe out the non-stick frypan, keep it in a ziplock and wash it when I get home. 👍Thanks again for another great video.

We’ve driven across that road and also hiked to Terrace Falls in 2017. We approached from the east and it’s called Grassy Lake Road. After the hike we continued on, crossed the Falls River and went to Cave Falls and Bechler Ranger station. After that we continued west, then headed south to Teton Pass and back to Colter Bay. In 2018 we drove to Grassy Lake Dam and hiked to the Falls River ... The Beargrass was blooming! Only does that every 2 to 9 years. We had mouse problems while camping in Palo Duro State park in Texas ... at midnight too. Enjoy your videos, very informative! Thanks.

great video Tristan! especially enjoyed the water features, the cascades, the waterfalls, the walking across the Snake; and enjoyed the drone footage, don't always get to see those, I think they add a lot to the exploring vibe. Your mouse experience funny, I think I will add some (TheBetterMouseTrap) countermeasures to my camping arsenal. And peanut butter sandwich, nothing better, although I like mine with butter and honey, that and a cup of coffee makes the perfect lunch! And one more thing, love your little butane burner, can't beat that size! Thanks for sharing, one of the best videos ever (I have only been with you for a month, mining the older vids.)

Happy New Year Tristan! Another great video! That mouse was probably after your Jif peanut butter, my favorite commercial brand! Before viewing the video I was worried the mouse problem may have been chewed ignition wires! I have 2 friends who camp away from the crowds as you do. Both have had problems with mice chewing wires in engine compartment of their Toyotas! Evidently, Toyota uses a type of vegetable oil in the insulation of the wiring which can at times, attract a hungry mouse. I'm glad your mouse encounter did not involve vehicle damage. Love the ingenuity used in trapping the mouse! Good job! Thanks for another entertaining video. This S. FL boy will be in Grand Tetons and Yellowstone area this Summer, would love to run into you Tristan!

Our family was camping in Grand Teton National Park 30 years ago. When we were waiting for a campsite, the people leaving were spending a lot of time packing. They eventually told us they had mice all through their car and that others told them they climb up through openings in the undercarriage. I thought, "That's kind of weird. That won't happen to us." My wife and I were in a tent and our kids were sleeping in the car. My son told me one morning that he felt something crawling on him during the night. It didn't take long to discover their nest. It took us all day to kill about 6 of them. (We left as soon as we found them.)

Hi Tristan. One of my very favorite places in the US is Yellowstone. I didn’t know there were so many not-well-know places to see there. I absolutely love waterfalls! And I’m with you on the hot springs; just the fact that you had them all to yourself was worth it. My favorite piece was actually the very last waterfall. Would be great to be under that in the summertime when it’s warm.

nice shot of you drinking tea standing in front of the lake. That's what I call peaceful solitude. My peanut butter sandwiches are usually for lunch when I'm hiking/camping. I'm with you on the food prep. No need to get all elaborate like a good friend of mine. I actually like MRE's. They're hot, fast and easy. And if you get the right one's, pretty tasty.

Confirmation that I watch too much KZbin original content. As you walked back through the ford of the Snake River my immediate thought was "oh, he set up the camera behind him, now halfway across the river he has to turn around and get the camera, all for 3 sec. of footage"

I don't understand why Nomads don't just use Tomcat brand rat and mice poison. I crush it, mix it with peanut butter, and I've wiped out hundreds of mice in my rental properties over the years. One feeding that they can't resist kills them within minutes. A regular mouse holocaust every time.

I think that I may have the answer to your food prep aversion ---- you should eat crunchy pb. The anticipation of superior deliciousness of that would lead you to the bodhisattva trailhead.

Happy New Year to you as well honey. My favorite part of this video is your photography. I am unable to hike these awe inspiring places you visit & am very thankful that you-take me along with you. PS. I have a fear of heights-least favorite part? Peering over the boulders edge into the water far below! 🤣😂 Kidding-loved it-😥really do fear heights. May God bless & keep us safe for our next journey 🙏💞💞

My friend i have literally camped out in that exact spot you were in last may and i had a mouse crawl into my engine compartment which kept coming up to my windshield as he hitchhiked over 100 miles till he got off somewhere around lamar valley and lived happily ever after or so i presume. Was probably related to your mouse im sure! Lol its a small world even for mice! P.S fyi mice love peanut butter!

My favorite part was the gorgeous russets and yellows in the lowlands you crossed around the hot springs. Removal of mouse was clever.

Steel wool and peppermint tea bags help with mice. That or either park overnight at a Cracker Barrel. I hear that works for everyone. It looks like toxic waste.

Sometimes mice and squirrels will enter the vehicle from under also and find their way in the cabin, or stay around the engine where they can gnaw on wires or soft parts. A mouse got into my car as I was sleeping once and I had to remove most of the stuff in the back to get it out and like Tristan I was a bit paranoid trying to sleep after that, thinking I was still hearing the little bugger. Fortunately , this did not happen again, and I've been "car-camping" one month a year for the last 20 years.

I am enjoying your videos. Chaco was the first video I saw and it inspired me to visit, it was fantastic. You did a wonderful job describing the area and I will continue to learn about Suv ring.

Surprisingly Claussen dill pickles go good with peanut butter sandwiches-not on them but as a side.

None of the sensationalized fear bait videos about the dangers of women traveling alone the KZbin algorithm tries to show me have made me second guess sleeping in my suv like this mouse story has! You handled it with much more grace and far last screaming than I will!

A ranger told me that the blues and greens in those colorful springs are from people throwing coins and other trash into the springs for several hundred years, they originally may have been like those you see there. Copper and Nickel will give you blues and greens. We were at the Grassy Lake area a couple of years ago and the bug swarms were very thick around the dam area anyway. We went down a short trail near the dam. We camped at Shadow Mountain. I'll have to say that those falls are much more impressive than Cave Falls and the approach road is much much better. I'll have to rate that road into Bechlar as one of the worst washboards we have ever seen.
