something important about the shine a light reprise is that every part of this is coming from macnamera! while the other kids aren't kind to her, she's all alone, and these are her thoughts when she's alone. even in her thoughts she's the inferior heather.

(I wanted that to stand on its own, on its own reply... but really: Heather Chandler was the captain. She had the charisma, she just was the boss, and that was ok for McNamara. Now that she's gone, Duke decided she wanted to be the captain. And she's even more bossy than HC was with her. Heather McNamara sure didn't want "HER" the way she accepted HC.)

In "Shine a Light (Reprise)" did you catch the lyrical reference to "Candy Store"? In "Candy Store" the Heathers sing, "You can join the team Or you can bitch and moan You can live the dream Or you can die alone," and in "Shine a Light (reprise)" Heather Duke sings, "Your ass is off the team Go on and bitch and moan You don't deserve the dream You're gonna die alone." Loving the reactions and analysis. I always appreciate the perspectives of knowledgeable folks.

I will say one thing, in the Reprise Duke is not actually there. That’s all Mac’s inner thoughts being represented by Duke and the other students. For once, in that song at least, Duke is not the bad guy. And in Lifeboat that was Duke with the red scrunchie. Confusing, but she took the red scrunchie to show that she was in charge now despite her primary color being Green. Also, in Candy Store they actually have some foreshadowing (especially in Szin animatic of it) when Chandler is saying Veronica can either join the team or Die Alone. (In the Szin animatic when that line comes up it shows Mac and then Duke, with Mac looking nervous while Duke is grinning).

And it's not just that line, from "Candy Store": the entire sequence of lines is mirroring. Your ass is off the team -> You can join the team Go on and bitch and moan -> Or you can bitch and moan You don't deserve the dream -> You can live the dream You're gonna die alone -> Or you can die alone

I’m glad you got the in between scene. The “you promised to protect her” always hits so hard for me. Heather listened to ms f and was vulnerable, and ms f couldn’t/didn’t do anything to keep her safe after that.

Heather mcnamaras final call for help is lifeboat that is why she WAITS for somebody to say something then duke pushes her down further so she runs off. Thats also why SAL reprise is a thing because its her trying to kill herself but also hoping somebody will get there before her, and also thats why..(SORRY FOR THE SPOILERS) when veronica comes and saves her she WAITS to swallow the pills becaude she WAITS to see if she can be convinced

IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE. Heather mcnamara is my fabourite song so i over analyse lifeboat anyway but id just like to state there could be 2 ways she means by 'well who made her captain?!, 1. It could be her shouting at duke like WELL WHO MADE HER HEAD OF THE SCHOOL?! who made her ahead of everybody else who made her rule everyone?! Who made HER replace chandler 2. I am loving your heathers reactions so far! I first watched the musical a few years back with my friend, absolutely loved it then kinda forgot about it over time, recently an animatic came up on my youtube of beautiful and i just resonated with Veronica so much and loved the song After watching animatics for every song and rewatching the musical on yt, slowly I seeked out more and more people reacting to anything from the heathers musical and saw your reaction to candystore and loved it! I loved your style of how you create your videos and how you react to heathers, how genuine and engrossed you are in the music and how appreciative you are of the people who make these gorgeous animatics! I'm also not a "musical person" i love listening to songs and music on Spotify and really appreciate music but am in no way a technical person so seeing your perspective of all these songs are so interesting! I never noticed how the music increases over the song or the danger motif or anything! All this to say, i love watching reaction channels because watching someone else enjoy something you love too and seeing things from their eyes is so interesting to me I like your method of watching the video two times, first to see the storyline, look at the visuals and pick out things in the music which really stand out then again talking about how the music is structured and why you think they do things a certain way I am completley up for videos of you reacting to two heathers songs in the same video, i understand it may take more time to film and edit so may be out later on youtube but as long as you still react to the songs fully and enjoy it I'm with you!

I like the pausing as you go, but i felt like there was less musical analysis to this one! Maybe its because of these songs, but it felt like you didnt really get into analyzing themes and the instrumentals like you usually do which I kind of missed! Obviously I LOVE your reaction to the story and the animatics, but I wouldn't sacrifice the unique analysis/breakdown portion of your content!
