Hello sir, I messaged you about a month ago about having terrible issues with ammonia in my tank. I'm not real sure if you're able to go back to my original message and see what I said but trying to give you a shorter version. All of the normal new tank issues of overcrowding, poopy water, overfeeding, not a correct start of running the filter. All of those issues have all been addressed and I still cannot get this ammonia down. I was very excited when I started watching your channel and had heard that you have a degree in chemistry because I knew you would be able to help me. You responded back to me, (thank you so much) and suggested that I get some fritzyme turbo start. I did so, and the bottle says that I can treat the water and add fish after 24 hours but to leave my light off for 5 days. I treated my water on Saturday it has been 48 hours since the treatment and I went to check my ammonia levels and it registered on the 8.0 color card. I tried to take pictures to send you of my tank, the test kit that I use and the results, but it doesn't look like I can attach photos. My daughter's fish tank that she has in her room in the same house, uses the same water, same Prime setup solution and it is beautiful, thriving, full of fish, and has been for about 9 months. I AM SO FRUSTRATED PLEASE HELP!

@@terismith6143 First thing to do is try to figure out what is different between your daughters tank and yours. What are you using to test your ammonia? I always use API liquid test kits. What is your pH? FritzZyme Turbo Start 700 is said to only work between 7.3 - 8.0 pH; also KH minimum 4.5. I've been in the hobby since the 60's and have done my share of fish in cycling. If I get an unsafe ammonia reading (checking daily) I do a massive water change. The cycle usually gets under control within a couple of weeks.

This is good for people who love tech, love to fiddle with machines. I have some grow light bulbs in home depot light fixtures that clamp to a chair sitting near my planted tanks. Works fine. But i dont care for tech for techs sake. For some people, they love tech. Thats whats great about the hobby. You make it what you want it to be

I got these for my reef because they’re really powerful and adjustable, but I just don’t think I’ll ever need that much control (and want to spend that much money) on my freshwater tanks. Maybe if I ever do a high tech super fancy tank, but that’s what I have the reef for. Definitely a fantastic light for anybody in the market for this kind of thing though!

The AI Prime is a top choice for my reef aquarium due to its full-spectrum lighting, compact yet powerful design, customizable settings via the MyAI app, energy efficiency, sleek appearance, and affordability compared to other high-end options. Great video Jason.

theres other options like chihiros, skylight hyperspot, week aqua, ADA, twinstar etc, u can adjust color, timer, sunrise, sunset etc.. skylight hyperspot seems prettier than this judge by youtube videos ive watched, u didnt know about them? because half of aquarium youtube i follow use those brand. i feel like american fish hobbyist have specific culture, they only use and talk about brand like hygger, kessil, fluval etc. do you guys ever heard about those brand ive mentioned?
@adlin362414 күн бұрын
reason i made this comment is because u only compare it to kessil, theres more option out there on that price range

AI Prime is one of my two favorite choices in lighting. I have these fixtures mounted on a low energy aquarium and have gotten robust, healthy growth from plants like amazon swords and anubias with the barest minimal background algae. These lights are a solid option.

Bruh, that price point is insane!! Don't need an app to set the timer or have a full color spectrum

Especially when you consider that it's $30 more for the attachment bar. Yipes!

And tape off individual diodes to change the color or intensity.

Just depends on what the goals are for the fish tank?

@@PrimeTimeAquatics I can't think of freshwater aquarium scenario where a light this incredibly expensive is necessary.

Great video. How do the lights get the clock time after a power outage? For example - The Fluval 3.0 lights reset to 0:00 until they are reconnected to the smart phone app. It’s one of the cons I have for them. I still want some of these, but it’s hard to get past the price tag on my budget.

Good question - the time is coming from your phone based on your time zone.

Best light I've ever had for my main tanks is an LED grow light. I think it's a spider farmer or something. I built a fancy shade for it or of walnut. It doesn't look half bad either

The average freshwater tank is a rectangle, so do we need to pay for more than one to have full coverage? I can't see this being better than Chihiros. IF I was setting up a reef tank, I would def spend the cash for AI Prime lights.

the AI Prime hd 16 is on my Nuvo 10g for 3 ys. The app has disappeared several times, and the lens has melted twice at approx 50%. When I download the app again, it wants info I can't get from just the light. Can no longer set the time or spectrum, have to just unplug and plug it back in over several days when the power is out for more than an hour. Maybe I just got a lemon, but I will be going back to my basic, touch button, no-app Nemo light next major tank clean.
