Enjoy these movies, Liked how the professor (Conrad Nigal) had them all so taken in and mesmerized. Overall, the minute details and personalities of people living a million years ago. LOL This was Ricard Widmark's second film after his debut. After the Great Depression era. Hollywood was battling itself for the next big epic to draw the ticket booth. The forties brought more adventure Westerns and Drama to the Silver Screen. Hollywood was searching for that next genre of film. Rom/Coms began to come in more as well as high sea /pirate adventures. Old Western Stars as Gene Autry were soon replaced with the Audie Murphys. The bigger name Stars, John Wayne was moved more into the limelight and James Stewart, Randolf Scott and Gary Cooper. The A list goes on and on. The lighter wholesome family comedy/light Dramas with child actors never really lost there appeal. Keeping audiences steady at the ticket booth. There was just that certain run of these great well produced/directed and acted Films. Really only a good strong two decades, but man are they still as good today as they sure were then

I have not seen this film for over 50 years and I loved it as a kid. I don't think it has been on UK tv since then so I thought I would treat myself to nostalgia. Everything about it is wonderfully cheesy and camp. Carole Landis is beautiful. It is a good print but unfortunatley has subtitles which is ironic as this is the one film of this period that does not need them. The only alternatives I found were colourised which is ten times worst. This film was totally different from anything in that period so enjoy.

She was only 29 and had made 49 pictures, most of which were, unfortunately, forgettable. If Hollywood moguls had given Carole a chance, she could have been one of the brightest stars in its history.
