he IS on the same level as Freiza but not for the same exact reason AS Freiza. his major flaw is the fact that his physical strength is lacking. hes so use to using his powers, he cant battle in hand-to-hand combat like Freiza can. plus he has something Freiza lacks: a high intelligence. i'm not saying Freiza is brain-dead, but he does kinda do things on a whim and bec he believes hes superior. hes too cocky for his own and it was that trait that brought about his downfall. sure, Mewtwo was the same way in the first movie, but hes overall calculative and cunning. he used ppl and pokemon to his advantage, and he almost came out victorious if Ash hadnt shown him what life was truly about by sacrificing himself. and unlike Freiza, he would recognize his limitations and compensate for it, not fight on in a blind rage bec he doesnt want to believe someone is better than him. other than that, they have more or less the same capabilities: both r incredibly fast, both can teleport (each in their own way), and both have some sort of profound power that is stronger than most. so, the way i see it, they either wouldve been met w/ a draw or Mewtwo wouldve won

+Bryana Corrigan As far as feats go Frieza has actually shown to have superior psychic abilities. He lifted an island sized chunk of land out of the ground and hurled it at Goku. There's also the severe difference in speed with Frieza being far faster, sure Mewtwo can teleport but he's attacks would do little to Frieza. With that it shows the difference in strength. That is his flaw, however when you go around knowing that only few can stand up to you it's obvious why he becomes cocky. It should also be mentioned that while he is cocky he doesn't really let that cloud his judgement.

+i_s_u-c_l_o_n_e his superiority does cloud his judgement. even though Goku killed him, and Freiza KNOWS he could probably do so again quite easily, he goes after him time and again bec he couldnt believe someone bested him. and i dont believe he has TELEKINESIS perse, but yea i totally forgot about that moment u mentioned. nonetheless we've seen Mewtwo mental prowess and i'm pretty sure it's on par w/ Frieza both offensively and defensively, and, personally, i dont think we've seen the HALF of it. he has basic telekinetic powers (levitation, telepathy, etc), can control minds, has the power to suppress other beings' powers, can communicate w/ others over great distances, and can even communicate through someone else over a questionable distance. i recall reading somewhere in the comments Mewtwo cant Mega Evolve without a key stone...however, in accordance to the 16th pokemon movie (as much as i hate it), Mewtwo can in fact Mega Evolve through sheer willpower alone. plus ever heard the saying "mind over matter"?

Here are 10 ways basic form Mewtwo could have won: 1: Mewtwo could've used Amnesia or Barrier to boost its defense to be impervious to Freiza's attacks. 2: Mewtwo could've disabled Freiza's attacks so he couldn't use his moves with disable! 3: Mewtwo could've used double team to make most of Freiza's attacks miss! Combined with flash would make only 10% of Freiza's attacks hit! 4: Mewtwo could've swaggered Freiza so that he'd have have killed himself! 5: Mewtwo could've toxic stalled Freiza so that Freiza would've died after 6 attacks! 6: He could've used trick to give Mewtwo a choice band so that Freiza would've been locked into only using 1 (weak) attack! 7: Even if Freiza was tougher Mewtwo could've used Guard Swap (Or Wonder Room!) to switch defense stats with Freiza thus making the toughness difference void! 8: Even if Freiza was stronger Mewtwo could've used Power Swap to switch attack stats with Freiza thus making the difference in strength to Mewtwo's own advantage! 9: Mewtwo could've copied all of Freiza's moves with mimic 10: Mewtwo could've burned Freiza with Will 'o' Wisp and then proceeded to fight him in a hand to hand battle where Freiza couldn't have dealt any significant melee damage! Sure Freiza may be stronger, but Mewtwo has such a variety of moves that when used correctly can easily make up for the difference in strength! Besides, a level 1 F.E.A.R. Ratata could've defeated Freiza ;)

1. those dont protect form special sttacks i.e ki blasts. 2.freeza has alot of attacks, disabling one wouldnt change anything 3. freeza is faster than mewtwo and couldve destroyed each clonse 4. if pissed off, freeza could just destroy the planet, swagger is pointless 5. no proof poison would have any effect on an alien 6. i dont know what trick does so i'll ignore 7. freiza still has his overwelming speed and strength, defense means nothing 8. freeza still has special attacks i.e ki blasts, planet destroyer plus being faster murders mewtwo 9. coping his moves wont copy his stats, freeza still murders 10. freeza has survived being cut in half, being burned wouldnt stop him mewtwo is stomped regardless and he's lucky screwattack let him last 60 secs

I want a proper Death Battle between these two. The match-up's too good to waste. To all you people who think that Frieza would win just because he can blow up planets... 1. As Goku himself said, "Strength isn't the only thing that matters". 2. Planets are REALLY FREAKING HUGE TARGETS that won't fight back or even move out of the way if attacked. 3. Mewtwo could teleport out into space, as he is perfectly capable of surviving out there, or he could just fling that shot right back at Frieza. Easy. 4. The only reason I can see why people wanted to see this fight is because they are both white and purple, not because Mewtwo could actually stand a chance (which I doubt he could) Goku vs Superman is an equal sided fight (Goku should have won...) Freeza had difficulty matching base Goku even in his final form. In DB super SSjGB Goku was able to catch Freeza in a blinding second, SSGB is far stronger than Freeza final form. Though Golden Freeza is an entirely different story. We KNOW Golden Freeza is stronger than SSJGB, heck Goku even admits it in DB super. The only reason Freeza loses is because he went out not use to the form, so it burned his body out quicker. Which is a tad bs in my opinion. Freeza should kill Goku, smash up Vegeta and leave to torment Gohan's failure to help. Thus making Gohan a lot stronger, a worthy fight for Freeza. But thats just me.

If you're a dragon ball fan or even just know very little about it you'd probably know how strong of a fighter Frieza is. Assuming this is the Frieza before the R.F movie he's still an incredible melee and ki fighter. Mewtwo is a very powerful pokemon in his own rights, but he's not fast, he's not a melee fighter, and he's not very durable in terms of taking a beaten.

Let's see this fight WITH basic research: Frieza: His main power is his sheer physical force, incredible fighting skills, as well as his natural speed, immense durability and energy projection abilities. His overall power exceeds Goku in his natural form even after using his best Kaio Ken and his maximum strength is roughly at the same level as of Goku's Super Sayen 1 form. He is able to fly, and perform many types of powerful ki blast attacks. His ki blasts have limits and are not nearly most powerful in his universe, but they are very powerful none the less, and he is easily able to take down sayens such as Goku or Vegeta down with them, if they aren't in their super sayen forms. He is also able to lift things up and blow things up, even very large objects using his telekinetic powers. He also has ability of regeneration, however it has limits and he can not heal himself in mid battle very well, as showed in his fight with SSGoku. He is incredibly intelligent and has plenty of experience fighting and conquering entire planets. He is also durable as hell, although he was killed by his own destructo disk and can be harmed by powerful ki attacks and physical force. Yes, Frieza was defeated before, as he is below the rank of Super Sayen 2, any Goku villain and hero who is equal or above the level of Super Sayen 2 can easily beat Frieza. However, there are not too many of these characters and they are either powerful Sayens, or basically gods. Mewtwo: Mewtwo has the power to reflect any energy back to it's source using his barriers and counterattack powers. He can also deflect any physical strike using his reflect shields. He has incredible natural speed and reflexes as he is second fastest pokemon in his generation. He can take lots of punishment because of his naturally high level and high health bar, and can restore any damage in seconds using recover move. He has powerful energy projection blasts at his disposal, mainly swift stars that are impossible to evade or shadow ball bolts. He is so intelligent he can easily recreate and further upgrade humanities currently most advanced technology after literally just being born. He also has the power to disable any power of his opponents, as showed when he was able to take away special powers of dozens of pokemons in an instant just by saying he wants to do so. So basically he has near omnipotent "Disable" pokemon move. But his most powerful weapon and completely impossible to escape or resist, are his psychic powers. He can basically influence time and space to no known limits. He can make an endless storm with a wave of his hand. He can control hundreds of minds at the same time without any effort. He can use his telekinesis to hold any amount of his targets helplessly in one place and then crush them or send them flying with incredible force. He can literally make an entire facility or an island explode with a single thought. His psychic control over matter and minds has no defined limits. He is basically omnipotent in these areas and was never defeated or caught before, excluding games of course where it's possible to TRY to do it after completing entire game. There is no existing more powerful pokemon then MewTwo - as he is an enhanced and weaponized clone of an already perfect god-like pokemon Mew, he is simply unbeatable and even if he has some close equals in other godlike legendary pokemons, he easily defeats almost any other pokemon in a battle. Battle: Frieza is naturally much faster, so he would start the battle. Frieza is able to perform all manner of ki blasts against MewTwo, and probably he would start with these - he would also use his incredible speed to attack from different angles and with immense precision. However, MewTwo with his incredible natural reflexes and ability to read Frieza's mind (Frieza showed no specific resistance to powerful telepathy, especially not as powerful and limitless as MewTwo's) can create his psychic barriers, which as mentioned can absorb and reflect back any amounts of energy - that way MewTwo would be able to simply send all the Frieza's energy attacks back to it's source, only causing damage and trouble to Frieza. Probably Frieza would simply understood the fact that MewTwo can not be defeated simply with a ki technique, so he would engage in hand to hand combat. However, at this point it's MewTwo's turn to make his move. After realising how powerful and fast Frieza is, MewTwo wouldn't be wasting any time. He would immediately try and stop Frieza with his psychic strike, attacking his mind and either destroying it completely, erasing his memory or trying to take control over his body. There is a large chance battle would end right here - as mentioned, Frieza has some telekinetic abilities and an intelligent, powerful mind but he did not prove any specific resistance to mind control and mind strikes, especially not against as powerful as MewTwo's. So it's safe to assume Mewtwo would kill Frieza or end the fight in some other way the moment he would decide to do so. However, assuming for some reason he would not choose that option, he would create reflect, safeguard or teleportation barriers to avoid being attacked directly by Frieza. And as I said his barriers have no defined limits, so he can block any Frieza's fighting moves and stop him from attacking him altogether. At this point we can safely say Frieza has no means to defeat MewTwo directly - his ki attacks and physical strikes can not reach him, just as much as any other pokemon could not lay a finger on him, even their most powerful energy attacks or body strikes were all blocked by MewTwo's shields and force behind the attacks redirected back at them. If Frieza can't fight MewTwo using ki or physical strikes, he simply lacks a weapon to deal with him and put him down for good. Not to mention that even if Frieza would somehow outmanouver MewTwo and make some of his attacks reach him, aside from MewTwo's natural immense durability he also has recover techniques that help him recover ALL his lost health, so basically heal any harm done to him even if he is upon the edge of defeat he can still bring himself back to his best in a second. - Again, unlike Frieza, who's regeneration abilities are vastly limited. But can MewTwo defeat Frieza by some other means that ifluencing his mind? He can certainly not defeat him physically - MewTwo is not particularly strong, but he can surely defeat him using his energy projection and psychic techniques, as Frieza, although very durable, was harmed and defeated using energy projection abilities coming from Goku and other characters, including himself. Results: So this match is nice and clear. MewTwo has superior defensive abilities, and superior regeneration abilities - that makes him too much for Frieza to defeat. Frieza has the speed and strength advantage but it's of no use if MewTwo can read all his intentions and movements and react always in a proper way with his mentioned far superior defensive skills. Also MewTwo is not far behind in Frieza's destructive abilities. His energy attacks might not be as powerful, but he totally stomps Frieza's abilities of psychic attacks, and he can easily outmatch him by attacking him mentally or telekineticly. Even if Frieza is able to perform telekinesis on his own, it's no guarantee he can be a match for MewTwo in his unlimited psychic powers. MewTwo previously defeated even highly eveloved and most powerful psychic pokemons like Alakazam with just one move, completely outmatching his incredible telekinesis skills with his mind. So if MewTwo can defend and recover from every Frieza's technique and Frieza can not likely survive everything MewTwo has to offer, the winner must be MewTwo.

I like this arguement actually. But, and while im a bigger pokemon fan then DBZ by far, I feel in some areas you give mewtwo to much credit. Mewtwos barriers in the games do not stop attacks, they weaken them. But then protect stops everything, shy of just 3 or 4 attacks in the games, but cant be used over and over. But recover would help with attacks since the shields wouldnt stop all damage. But honestly, other then minor details like that, I agree mewtwo would probably win, because of like you mentioned. Just wiping memory, or simply blasting his mind with psychic powers, short and sweet, just not as fun to watch. Granted deatbattle might not see it that way, only cause "If you cant prove he could do that, you cant assume he can." Being a master psychic doesnt prove he can destroy his foes minds. But wiping his memory, which he did in the movie and they use movies and shows for game charcters, should still be enough. Freeza would have his work cut out for him. Plus with mega forms, mewtwo has the highest stats in the game now, so in terms of stats, mewtwo IS the strongest in the pokemon world. Freeza is not the strongest in his world.

Death battle analysis: I know nothing about Frieza and almost nothing about Dragon Ball Z, so I have little knowledge about his powers or fighting style. I do, however, know a lot about Mewtwo. Mewtwo was the creation of Mr. Fuji, who took the pregnant Mew and spliced the embryo's egg. He wanted to create the most powerful Pokemon that ever lived. Unfortunately, he succeeded. Mewtwo is horrifically powerful pokemon, possibly the strongest Psychic type in the entire game series. Smogon (the most well known competitive pokemon site) considers the first gen Mewtwo the single most powerful Pokemon in the games history, beating out the Pokemon version of God. Generation 1, THEE generation of stupidly overpowered pokemon only has two pokemon banned from the metagame, Mew and Mewtwo. Even past the first generation, Mewtwo has great stats, including extremely high speed, sky high attack, and even good defenses for a psychic type. Unlike most Pokemon, which are the equivelant intelligence of a dog and need a trainer to tell them what to do, Mewtwo intellect is far superior to that of any human. It also has a varied naturally learned movepool, including great moves like Aura Sphere, Psychic, Recover, and it's unique move, Psystrike. It can also mega evolve into two different forms, Mewtwo X, a physical based power house, able to pummel it's opposition while able to survive greater punishment, or Mewtwo Y, which takes the already great speed and special attack to nearly absurd levels. In the anime, Mewtwo was even more powerful, able to fly as fast as any flying type, control the weather, lift tons of stone with it's mind, mind control others, erase memories, and have fine control over hundreds of different mechanical objects at once. Mewtwo is also able to Mega evolve by itself, becoming an even more powerful special based without requiring the aid of a human. Is this enough to beat Frieza? notbobby125 He's never really had to deal with psychic powers in-canon, let alone those of Mewtwo's caliber. However, Guldo of the Ginyu Force has potent telekinesis and still fears Frieza, because he's just that powerful. As for mind control, Frieza did fall victim to Babidi's influence in one of the games, so I guess he'd be susceptible to that. I actually don't really know how vulnerable Frieza would be to Mewtwo's psychic abilities since there's no way to gauge that, but knowing the extent of them, I guess Mewtwo would stand a chance if he used them cleverly. Still, Frieza far outclasses him in just about every other department.

Ian Laroche It is an interesting view, but I would have a few points to contend. Assuming he started in his weakest form, which can still easily destroy planets much larger than Earth (Planet Vegeta was 10 times Earth's mass, I believe), why would he need to power up beyond that? This isn't Buu here, Frieza is probably the smartest DBZ villain, he wouldn't just let himself get pissed off and start powering up beyond his already formidable first form letting Mewtwo copy him. Consider how it took his greatest fear, the death of his highest ranking officers, and coming so close but failing to attain immortality to actually piss him off - even then it was Vegeta's taunting that prompted him to transform. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but this research was set up in a pokemon battle style. Needless to say, Frieza wouldn't let his opponent take his turn in a battle. This is all with Frieza in his first form, if he was in his final, well he has much more power than he'll ever need to use here.

Probably because there is a legitimate way for Mewtwo to win, although to be fair it *does* rely on Frieza not figuring out what Mewtwo is planning. Assuming Mewtwo could trick Frieza into standing around bragging about how great and powerful he is (which he *is* pretty prone to doing) then he'd have more than enough time to use his telekinetic abilities to pop a blood vessel in Frieza's brain and give him an instantly fatal aneurysm. Of course if Frieza even remotely suspects that he's in any form of legitimate peril, then he'd just vaporize Mewtwo with a casual flick of his wrist and the plan would be all for not.

Sure, they did forget Mewtwo's mega evolution. But, they also left out Frieza's ultimate form. Also, this is for only on their base forms, Frieza is way better in fighting but I like Mewtwo's personality better.

Michael Wilson Frieza's ultimate form is actually his original form, the other forms were weaker forms of himself so he wouldn't destroy a planet.

All the people complaining about them not making Mewtwo mega evolve are being quite silly. Mega evolving or not, Freiza would still destroy mewtwo either way. One of them destroys planets as a routine, the other gets caught by a littl10 year old with a pokeball.
