Lovely. I used to get dragged to a ghastly caravan park in Arbroath when I was a kid, and the only good thing about the entire holiday was the drive and visit to Lunan bay.

Glad you enjoyed it! With all the floods and high rivers any fishing has been out of the question! 😊

Hi, as a child of 8 years I can still remember holding two salmon (lent to us by a fisherman) for a photo, from the nets along montrose beach.Would Lunan beach had the same nets... around 1967?

Yes there were about 6 sets of nets on Lunan beach. There was barely a patch of sand on the east coast that was not netted

@wildfisher you couldn't keep taking that amount of fish without future repercussions in my opinion, I think we are seeing worldwide the impact of man's greed. Hopefully it will all recover but personally I think its going to be a fast decline towards nothing left or possibly invasive species taking advantage of our warmer waters and less competition like the pink salmon we are now seeing.

Yes the numbers of salmon netted was shocking, I saw it with my own eyes. No wonder there are so few fish left.
